For me the "IMAX-experience" can be created in several ways. What counts is the actual cinema-set-up. Like you see here:

    Imax1.jpg

As you can see: More curved screen. Way larger from bottom to top than normal cinema screens. And a football stadium-esque elevation of the chairs from bottom to top.

It's not only about using an IMAX-camera, but also on how the movie can be fully used on the above screen.

Now I know my native country The Netherlands is the most densely filled IMAX-country. But ever since I saw "Star Trek" in 2009 in Pathé Bijlmer Arena (IMAX) I was f*ck*i*g hooked :-). And that was even more enhanced when I saw "Skyfall" there. It's just an experience.

Now I know "Skyfall" wasn't filmed with IMAX-camera's, but I think the fact that it was filmed digitally (with more images per second as opposed to normal camera's) also helped to complete a, translate it into a near-perfect IMAX-experience.

I loved it. And I seriously want another IMAX-experience for "SPECTRE" as well.

Digital does not equal more frames/images per second. Skyfall and may other films are still shot and mst importantly projected on 24fps, and you won't get to get the benefits (if there are any) of more images per second unless you see a film in HFR (48fps) - like The Hobbit.

And that sort of set up (the real 70mm IMAX set up) is amazing for films filmed with IMAX cameras, as the images filmed on them would fill that entire screen. With Skyfall and SPECTRE, the images will fill more of the screen, but not the entire screen completely (only stuff filmed with IMAX cameras can do that).

Now at a cinema such as this (which is probably the best digital IMAX theatre out there)

    imax.jpg
    empire_imax_centre-sm.jpg

This is where you'll get the best experience for movies that are simply upscaled to IMAX or "formatted for IMAX" (not shot with IMAX cameras but image expanded to fill the whole screen at these theatres, like Skyfall and SPECTRE).

And finally this is how the average IMAX theatre looks like:

In any case, digitally or not, shot with IMAX-lenses or not: "Skyfall" for me was one hell of a thrilling ride in the IMAX-theatre :-).

Even if SPECTRE isn't screened in IMAX, most big theatre chains have their own "special formats", some of which are in multiple worldwide theatre chains. D-BOX, for example, where the seat moves during action oriented scenes.

Not really hard, just try catch Skyfall on TV?

    Hm, cough, cough :)

    This image comes from :
    http://www.hometheaterforum.com/topic/319039-s-k-y-f-a-l-l-sondage-format-cinema-vs-format-imax/

and in this French forum, it's been written just above this 1280x720 image :

"we could never find an IMAX image, anywhere".

So I rest my case :)

However, with a fuller frame on TV on the BBC (not here anytime soon in France), can someone post snapshots of a scene where there are some CG at the border of the images (for instance, when they arrive on Silva's Island : long shot + first steps on the island in front of the building). I'm curious to see if indeed they had to zoom in each time there was some CG. I wonder in particular how the titles are in this format.

Exactly. And the funny thing is I already guessed something right, without the SONYleaks. Please do not read if you don't want to be spoiled:
Swan's are white. So is Madeleine related to Mr White? Is "White" a cover for "Swann"? And apparently, I was right. Madeleine IS Mr White's daughter.

Its speculation in his part. If you want to know whether or not it is confirmed, you will have to consult the Leaks thread. It has all the detaiks in the characters.

I don't remember you, or anyone else for that matter, concluding what you stated in that tag regards 'connections' shall we say. And even if you did, this thread isn't for that. You wrote that you concluded something 'without the use of SONY leaks', hence why I looked at it. You're one of the last people I'd have thought would do that to be honest.
