the one thing I want to point out 2013 was the "down year" and yet this thread has been nicely moving along with plenty of bond 24 stuff to talk about.

Can't believe Helen Flanagan has been discussed on here. The lowest of the low-rent, Z-list. To give our international cousins some context, her name being mooted is on an even lower level than the Robbie Williams tripe from way back when. Absolutely zero substance in every conceivable way. I don't know who her equivalent would be in the US, but Paris Hilton wouldn't be too far off.

@RC7, yeah, Paris Hilton is bottom of the barrel, so I can understand the Helen Flanagan hatred, then.

    Well, I'd do her.

Helen Flanagan must be one of the worst names ever rumored to be a Bond girl. The tragic things is, some of the people who buy these "tabloids" will actually believe it to be true.

Typically the people who will buy into any rumor. Those are the same people who were up in arms that "Bond was going to drop martinis forever and start drinking Heineken only, beginning in SF," thanks to clueless articles.

I'd vote Megan Fox even lower, but I'd do her before I'd do Paris. That reminds me of the time when I noted that and my wife said Megan Fox was trailer park trash. To that, I said I'd have to drive by the trailer park more often ;)

What about Lindsay Lohan for Bond girl?

    hahahahahahahahaha!
Just thinking of others in the Paris/Helen F. lower level

Thanks for clarifying. I've been wondering about the cause of the ridicule.

How about Amanda Bynes. She'd make a convincing psycho.
  • Maybe they could go with Kim Kardashian, for the personal angle.

Indeed. She laughed and gave me the "Stone Cold Steve Austin Salute"!

Oh, heavens. First it was Kim Kardashian. Then it was Miley Cyrus. Now, Lindsay Lohan. HAVE YOU GONE MENTAL? This kind of thing seriously needs to stop for the sake of my own mental well-being.

How about we do 'real' suggestions?

Perhaps out of the box ideas..

    Marion Cotillard
    Helena Bonhem Carter
    Anne Hathaway
    Jessica Chastain
    Sandra Bullock
    Carey Mulligan
Stana Katic (she was practically set to go after the end of Quantum of Solace)

    and my favorite:
Lara Pulver from Bond-world's own 'Fleming' with Dominic Cooper (but she may be too much of a Vesper-like too soon).

Kate Winslet. I will shout it loud and proud until it comes true.
  • Would Stana Katic be playing the same character from Quantum of Solace or a different one, a la Maud Adams.

I hate to say it, but Helena Bonam Carter, Sandra Bullock, and Kate Winslet might be a bit old for the role of Bond girl. They'd all be the oldest in franchise history (Bullock would be over 50), and Carter and Bullock are older than Craig.

Kate is just 38, only one year older than Naomie Harris, and a perfect age for a Daniel Craig era Bond girl. And most importantly, she has talent to back up the looks that everyone seems to care so much about.

She'll be 40 by the time Bond 24 is released. I think she could do a great job, and I'm in no way opposed to her being cast. It's just that sometimes things unrelated to artistic quality get involved, like age and being the director's ex-wife.

Who knows? After all she used to be the wife of Sam Mendes.

Yes, I have been wondering for some time whether she and Mendes are on good terms. They seem like they would be, if their personalities are anything to judge. Though to be honest, I don't even know why they split, so maybe I am blind to the situation.

They split up because she heard you were on the market. ;-)

I think Kate would be a great choice, and would bring a nice added acting oomph to the film that is hoping to be better than SF.

Well, I've been on the market since the day I was born, so she's a tad late. It's probably for the best though, because I wouldn't want Eva to get jealous or anything...

I don't understand the feuding, but since I wasn't here for the big switch-over and only joined after the new forum began, I can't really comment.
Imagine all your posts deleted without any warning :)
Quite a few interesting posts disappeared forever with the old forum. We could not copy them to archive them because it happened suddenly. The admin said on this new forum the old forum could not been brought back in any shape, that everything was lost.
The funny consequence is that some young members call some other newcomers, even if there were contributors of that first forum for ten years... but there's no archive left of that.
Also, a hint that the feuding is a bit more than childish : type the old url of this site in your browser : www.mi6.co.uk and see what happens.

  • Sheridan Smith. She's really fit and she's probably a better actress than any of the Bond girls we've had so far. Gina Carano could be a good evil Bond girl.

Yeah that is quite weird. I wasn't on the forums at that time though (didn't join until 2011 but I checked the main site for news years before that).

Same happens with older members to be fair. One older member (who's left now), rejoined the site for the first time since the old forum. I'd been a member for well over a year and others he insulted had been members for a while too. But because he didn't know us, we were "newbies" to him.

I whas shocked that some members already know in March 2011, 2 months before the for me second edition of the forums (2002-2011) going offline and already get2 months saved acount for me on this forum. Iam member since 1999, but register in June 2001. 9-10 years of message gone. But i must not vergot to say that more and more whas running out ideas to refresh the forums with my comments and iam not the only one. Above on the fact Brosnan leave as Bond and 4 year of nothing. But i wish i could look back to some older messages to buld on for this forum. For example my QOS review. I not realy feel the need to comment again on the same quistions about Bond movies.

For the Bond 24 timeline i wish Bond 25 and mabey Bond 26 wil be released fast. I whas not happy at all with 4 year between DAD and CR and QOS and Skyfall, inspecialy because Skyfall feeling it be made in 2010. (Same i feel about TDKR who i stil haven't seen.) Also i think it time for anwsers, nothing to do with the fact i understand some of the symbol Eon trowing to us take time with for example why Lechiefe speak about time. Iam all in for comeback of time in between like the Brosnan era where there only 2 and sometimes 3 years in between. Casino Royale whas the first Bond movie in 4 years and litle bit since DAD be released in 2003 i saw in January 2007. Bond 25 in 2016 or 2017 wil get my vote.

We'll be getting trash worthy Bond girl and other casting rumors for months onwards, no need to worry about that. The real question is when the genuine Bond 24 rumors will roll in, and by genuine I mean actual news that will prove to be true via an EON announcement.

Official announcements will be in October on the day of the conference most likely but we'll hear accurate rumours in the mouths leading up to that date as usual.

There was rumor Skyfall would be "Red Sky At Night" for awhile, and I'd gamble they even put it on the spec script as a 'diversion'. I like it as a title, and it fits the post-explosion scenes at Skyfall perfectly.

I'm still for Zero Minus / Zero Plus as a tied up back to back Bond adventure, which Bond 24 and 25 are rumored to be :)
