I agree, but then I don't think it looks particularly 'vintage'. Like you say, it's just that they seem to be avoiding modern day clichés, which is always a plus.

It looks very SPECTRE to me. Nothing compares to it so far. Perhaps only the orange glow of the casino scenes in CR, and the Madagascar scenes.

No new trailer will be shown with Jurassic World in the U.S., can confirm now. Theatres still only have just the March teaser.

Also like I've said before - remember how the Skyfall first spot was a sort of lead in to the trailer soon after...same here I think.

It seems the TV spot was again aired at the halftime of NBA finals (Game 4). Series is now tied 2-2, so it probably means two more "spots" (maybe three) in US before releasing other things.

Airings you mean - yeah makes sense.

@marketto007 Thanks.:) What are you expecting to be revealed. When will the event be taking place?

If there's a new trailer on the horizon, that would be the place to show it to press....

In 2012, the SKYFALL teaser was first shown during the Summer Of Sony for a select audiance of journalists. This time around, I THINK it won't be different.

I don't think it's far off SF. To me the visual progression from SF to SP is quite similar to the transition of TSWLM to MR. Both those films have a lot of visual similarities which stem from the vision of Gilbert, the mis en scene, the framing, the design etc. Where we have Renoir we have Deakins and where we had Tournier we have Van Hoytema. I think these two films will stand out visually as being the 'Mendes' films, whether there will be a third remains to be seen.

Ooh that's a very good sign then....I assume it must've taken place in mid-May given the teaser came out at the end of that month?

UPD: answered my own question - it was April, a week or two before the CinemaCon premiere of the teaser

The event was in mid-April - so nearly a month and a half after as the teaser came out at the end of May

The SKYFALL Teaser Trailer was first showed during the Summer of Sony 2012 on April 19th and then during the CinemaCon in Las Vegas on April 25th.

BUT wasn't until May 21st when we first saw it online.

Definition of serendipity: they're setting up for a junket of SPECTRE in the hotel. Which means my dream woman Monica Bellucci is here.

Thanks so much to Aaron819 for all the wonderfully sharp and crisp hi res screencaps! Makes the footage look even more incredible than it already did. And relieves a concern I had about that ghosting/ frame blur that came from the HD footage on the 007 site.

It's worth noting they'll be some magnitude of blur throughout the majority of frames in the movie since it's being shot anamorphic.

Impressed with what I've seen so far however. Refreshing to consistently see a franchise like Bond ignore the teal/orange colour palette and grade that's so horribly accustomed to movies of it's ilk nowadays.

    Long may it continue.

I couldn't agree more. SPECTRE has a very distinctive color scheme and as you said not one that seems to be following any new trend - notably the orange/teal combo.

Actually I love the cinematic feel that anamorphic brings to its images and how it gives its action scenes especially an even greater sense of movement and excitement.

Was kinda disappointed when I first heard they were not shooting digitally again, but now after seeing all the great footage, it makes it not only look great but gives it a more visual connection with the best use of anamorphic in the series' past that began with Thunderball. I kinda hope the trend on 35mm continues awhile.

As someone said, a couple shots in the TV spot, especially the one in the villa, look like vintage, timeless Bond.
Yeah, right, so they take brown instead of orange/teal, how original. And, as much as I like the trailer, I have no idea where there´s supposed to be any vintage Bond in there.

I feel that based on what I have seen so far, that they have tried very hard to evoke a more elegant looking Bond film that is also a modern film - which cannot be avoided obviously. I don't feel Mendes and Hoytema are being as literal about recreating a specific vintage 60s look as it may appear. Just a more timeless film that brings to minds certain films that happen to be from that era. But some who are not as versed in the Bond films going back to DN may get a different vibe from the look.
With all due respect, the last one is a ridiculous statement. Many people who are well versed in old Bond films will confirm that SP doesn´t evoke any vibe such as DN, FRWL, or TB. That would be like saying SF was a more traditional Bond film than the ones before.
Wether its look is more timeless than others, we´ll see.

Totally agree. Hopefully the new Bond films can be more of the trendsetters they have been in the past and keep their own unique style, which is what makes Bond... Bond.

Obviously, we will all interpret what we want from the look. Some will see something that has a look that is reminiscent of the past. Others won't. What I meant was that some of the reactions to the footage such as that at CinemaCon a few weeks back had some viewers saying it had a 60s look. And I kinda agree. Some of the scenes I've seen remind me of something like TB. Nothing literal. Just an overall feeling. And some will not agree with that viewpoint. No problem. How we react to something on a more emotional level is not something ridiculous, just our own individual reactions. I can't speak for anyone other than myself and my own reaction.

SF was anything but traditional, but Deakins and Mendes work is certainly distinctive.

I love the look of SP and think it's pretty original, or at least not something that looks too similar to the other big blockbusters out there right now. I'm sure there are exceptions. But for me what I like so much is due to the overall package, not just a brown color scheme: it's wardrobe, locations, characters, action, et. But obviously no one knows how for sure how any of this plays out so we will only know for sure in November. That's what makes it exciting.

But in the end, I'm just an enthusiastic fan making a personal observation of what makes me personally like what I've seen based on the teaser and TV spot, not start an argument.

Hopefully, down the road, we can all agree that SP - however it looks - can be a great film.
