    I'm confused..
I thought Spectre was a two part story?
Did they change the ending or something

I'll go ahead and spoiler anything regarding the ending of the film. Again, we have a perfect location for spoilers and leaks, so please do not continue to discuss them here.

Eon has fallen asleep at the wheel again it seems. We're now into September and still in slow burn mode PR wise. We NEED to kick things up a notch NOW! Come on, EON WAKE UP!!

Sorry for my passion but it is frustrating to see a film company behave so casually when handling their only major property.

What did he say about this Elba to get heat?
Can't tell, how much this guy is getting on my nerves.

You have to treat him with gloves, otherwise you are racist. Oh please...

    Mendes (from the Empire article):
"It's more panoramic than Skyfall. There's greater variety of location and tone."

This is exactly what gets me so pumped for SP.

I don't think Elba's the one who is accusing people of being racist. Just the general public on social media.

Yes, but he has become persona non grata and that shouldn't be the case.
If someone doesn't wNt him as Bond, for whatever reason, they should be allowed to say so, just like with any other. There is nothing special about him.

    So, what did DC say?

People are afraid to speak publicly about Elba in the press because they will almost certainly get tagged with the racism charge. It doesn't help when US commentators like Rush make ill phrased remarks about it either. It stinks, because I have no big problem with the right black actor taking the role in the future, but I do have a very big problem with Elba because of his age and because the guy is seriously obnoxious. I can't fathom EON wanting to work with him for years and years.

Are you kidding? Elba has never said anything out of line to warrant such a dumb comment from you and this isn't the first dumb comment you've made about Elba or the first time. If one thing Elba has been gracious under a barrage of ignorant insults and silly comments directed towards him.

    "this Elba"

Next thing you'll hear is the predictable "but I have black friends" crap!

The next Bond will be decided by the interpetation of the character they (the producers) want to take, the story and script theyre developing, and the pool of actors available at the time. It wont be determined solely by a basic characteristic such as skin colour.

So all this talk is rather pointless and somewhat annoying.

Exactly the same case with Pierce Brosnan's response after being asked whether there will ever be a gay Bond.

    "I think it'd be interesting"

Bond is heterosexual, and Pierce knows that. Had he said otherwise, there would be an outrage against him, with people accusing him of being homophobic.

These people need to get a job instead of searching for things to criticize people for.

Yup, this Elba for me. Sue me.
I didn't say, HE labels anybody being resist. But others do, which is annoying, as it places him into " Don't touch" territory, which is nonsense. If we all want to be so not racist, which of course is the right attitude, don't get me wrong, then we should be just that and not treat him any different.

Elba is a fantastic actor and I like everything he's done. I'm really looking forward to beasts of no nation, he's going to be amazing in that. However, I just don't want a black Bond. Period. Would he makes a good Bond? I believe he'd be amazing in the role and quite frankly I'd go as far to say that he could be a better Bond than Craig but my issue is, I don't want Bond being anything other than a white man. That's just the way it is. In this regard I don't want change.

It's a tough time to be famous. They get asked loaded questions, where the response is heavily quoted without the leading questions that drew the remark. The most innocent remarks can be manipulated by the press and web sites to draw hits. I think Moore is a good case in point. He got really trashed in the press for appearing to make some insensitive remarks about Elba, when I think I read that he was talking about a different actor in a situation from years ago. The actor was black, but was not English which is why Moore was quoted as saying the actor needed to be English. Maybe someone can fill in on this. I don't think Moore was even talking about Elba, but his response got taken out of context, and he got really attacked.

You are not worth that all that attention or anyone getting worked up but you sure get worked up whenever Elba's name is mentioned.

You don't have to utter one racist slur to come off as offensive/aggressive in regards to Craig/Elba and it hasn't been the first time you've said questionable crap on this site and to be called out by others so you should consider how you phrase things as of now but as they say keep digging

No way, are there racist accusations being made once again when it comes to talking about a black Bond? Happens every time. If you lot can't have a cool-headed discussion about this without calling one another racists (or even taking it to a racist level with one another), then stop. This is the Production Timeline for SP anyway, not the "Who should play the next James Bond?" thread, which we have. Keep it on topic and keep it cool.

I just silently enjoyed staring at it for a good few minutes this morning. It just feels classic to me.

What is important is that from this ONE still, I get that there is a story behind this just from their characterization. They look like they shouldn't be there, and it makes my mind wander as to why - It makes me want to see the movie!

    Great, great shot.

I love how "normal" Bond looks. He's not wallowing on an abandoned island in a deep blue tuxedo - He's in a proper suit that fits the scenery mesmerizingly perfectly.

I also really like that light brown suit. You haven't seen much of that in Craig's Bond.

The racist accusations are being directed at what Horowitz said about Elba. He said Elba is too "street" to be cast as Bond.

@doubleoego, it was getting heated between a few members on the previous page, and it turned into ridiculous racist accusations. This isn't even the right thread for such a discussion, anyway.
