Posted this earlier in another thread but, as I've seen the book above, I thought it may be worth posting here too.

The James Bond Archives (Spectre Edition) is currently available to pre-order on Amazon UK at a "Pre-Order Price Guarantee" of £34.00. I have, very quickly, got my copy pre-ordered.

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/James-Bond-Archives-SPECTRE/dp/3836551837/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1443101139&sr=8-1&keywords=james+bond+archives+spectre

Now thats interesting. I ordered this book weeks ago and on the 15th September I had an email from amazon.co.uk saying that my order has been cancelled as the book is no longer available???!!!! as a result i found out that amazon.it also had pre-orders up so I ordered with them .

this is the message I got from amazon uk
" Unfortunately, we’re no longer able to offer this item for sale. Our supplier has informed us that it's been discontinued and is no longer available. You may find that it's still available from third-party Sellers on Amazon.co.uk Marketplace but I'm afraid we can't source stock from these Sellers.

We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused and hope to see you again soon. "

if i remember the pre order price with amazon uk was £30...before they cancelled. However they have not sent me an email informing me that its now available! Hopefully they won't just send it out and charge me as I have it now on order from amazon.it

How the HELL can this new "SPECTRE" edition, containing 624 pages, way more than the original 50th anniversary edition from 2012, be ONLY 34 Pounds??

I thought back in 2012 I bought a wonderful limited edition and I paid a lot of money for it.

Is this new edition exactly the same size as the "old" one??

They probably fudged the copy and paste of the actual price from the excel spreadsheet and dropped off the "1" or is that the "2" at the start?

I think this version is slightly smaller. i read that recently when making a pre-order. According to the version from 2012 there are 600 pages and this one has 624 pages. Which limited edition did you buy?

I thought the same thing myself, especially about the size. I'm not gonna complain though at £34 and 624 pages, it's gotta be one helluva bargain.....

They did the same with the Kubrick book and I assume with their others. Well worth it for £34. It's exactly the same content.

I think the charm of the previous edition in part was the size. Many friends who visited my flat always kept asking "What the hell is this Gert?!?!?" :-)

I ordered this the "spectre" edition from amazon.it and they also list it at 789g - and I put in pre-orders for Blood Sweat and Bond : Behind the scenes Of Spectre and Bond By Design. Looking forward to checking them out although Spectre opens here on November 11th and the Behind The Scenes book gets released and shipped at the end of October. I might have to wait to read it just in case the behind the scenes book contains major spoilers!!

No need to buy the blu-rays this time around so I opted to get some books instead. The steelbooks would be a nice option but I just don't need more copies of the films on Blu-ray. A great time to be a Bond fan. And Spectre looks like it could be one of the best Bond films of them all!

These are the pictures I love. On-set pictures of cast and crew, when they are having some typical pasta from 'Casa-di-Broccoli' ;-). Here they are having this lunch after a succesful explosion sequence in the Moroccan desert. From left to right: DoP Hoyte van Hoytema, director Sam Mendes, producer Barbara Broccoli & co-producer/actor Daniel Craig:

And here another shot made when they were filming scenes for the Moroccan lair. From left to right: director Sam Mendes & special effects supervisor Chris Corbould:

The final production meeting before shooting started early December 2014. I never thought these meetings were so...ehhh....S.P.E.C.T.R.E.-esque @-). From left to right: Barbara Broccoli (with glasses, trying to make her Sony Xperia work) & 1st assistant director to Sam Mendes, Michael Lerman. Also present/visible: costume designer Jany Temime, DoP Hoyte van Hoytema. Panorama picture made by Sam Mendes:

There whas remour the movie going to be 155-160 minutes. But official pathe Dutch cinema website claim now the movie going to be 163 minutes (2hr, 43 minutes) Note: It is possible that it wil change later again..

163 minutes is 1 minutes les long then The Chamber of Secrets. This mean it be over 3hrs include 20 minutes of comercials/trailers before movie. This also mean if this be case, some cinema's wil give 08.30 PM (20.30) screenings, means at that time you walk out around 11.35 PM (23.35). If there be 10.15 PM screenings it mean 01.20 AM (01.30).

I have seen Skyfall at 10.15 PM and walk out around 00.55, way to late already in my opnion. Already warning before, there realy should give more cinema screens earlier. Total count of cinemascreens realy should be in some where like 328 or so in The Netherlands.

  • Just a nice screencap I made, NO spoilers :-). It was filmed on location in Morocco. You can see director Sam Mendes and special effects supervisor Chris Corbould:

Sam Mendes is directing the movie?? Wow you really spoiled it for me :)) =))

Nice to see that, but again (as with the SF trailer vs. the actual film) there is a different edit of the dialogue. In SF it was Silva's "So what's yours?" that I preferred in the trailer vs the film and here it is "Welcome James" and "You came across me so many times and yet you never saw me" that I prefer in the earlier trailers. The delivery is different (in the earlier trailers it's obvious that Waltz does not speak English as a first language....here it's less noticeable)
I really hope its going to be "welcome stranger" in the film bc I absolutely loved when blofeld said Bond.. James Bond just after in the script
