Cr--Cornell is an awesome singer. Maybe the best pipes in the History of Hard Rock. Better Than Plant. Better than Daltrey(though Love Reign O'er Me is fantastic). Better than Steve Perry of Journey. He is the shiznit, ,and I hope you guys knew of him before That movie.
it's all just opinion. Avtak is the 1st one I really watched way back then.
Ah, yes, first Bonds do have a special place I have to admit. And as you say it is just an opinion. T'would be a boring world if we all agreed on the same thing. Hoping the Skyfall titles will be up to scratch.
The Spy who Loved Me
Diamonds Are Forever
The Living Daylights
I'd love to say one of Daltons, but it has to be GE.
Honorable mentions for TB, TSWLM, GE, and CR.
That's a good point, Creasy. I hadn't thought of that. So I suppose we can say that TWO Bond film OTS's advance the story...and both come from Kleinman.
My fav opening which pops into my head is the opening to Quantum of Solace game on Xbox. Great song also! Check it out on the link if you haven't seen before!
Welcome to the community "DamoConnolly". Not played on aconsole for ages but certainly a nice sequence. The music had a Goldeneye feel to it in places i thought!
Sorry for going off topic. Big fan of CR opening and LTK as was first Bond I got to see on the big screen so has always been a fav !
I love everything about that movie.
But I think my favorite would have to be Daniel Kleinman's opening for Casino Royale: another seamless transition from a gun barrel sequence in a completely rebooted form, the casino imagery and actors incorporated into the sequence, and unique, fun imagery without falling back on the same old naked-women-doing-gymnastics-on-guns that nobody can do better than Maurice Binder did. That, paired with the black-and-white sequence, made my favorite stretch of the film.
As for QoS, the title sequence made much more of an impression on the big screen (unlike the rest of the movie, which I actually find more enjoyable watching on DVD than I did in the movie theater). I felt like I was flying along with the motion of the camera, over the desert and into space. Also, I think Another Way to Die is the most underrated Bond theme of all-time.
I can't even remember what I originally chose at this late hour (and some intoxicating beverages), I did like Tomorrow Never Dies though, Daniel Klienman, did a fine job and superb Sheryl Crow music, it was a winner. Shame about the actual film though :-<
OHMSS and Dr No are up there too.
http://www.digitalartsonline.co.uk/news/?NewsID=6611
1. OHMSS
2. Dr. No
3. Thunderball
In the league of the non-Binder:
1. Casino Royale
2. Goldeneye
3. The World Is Not Enough (not because of the song, but because of the oil looking style)
2. FRWL
3. TB
4. Dr No
5. GF
The opening was one of the few features of that film that stayed true to the Bond formula. Hopefully there are more gadgets and the 007 theme song in Skyfall.
RIP Tony Scott
Oh, and THAT’S what happened during the car chase at the opening of QoS? I finally got to see it without the world’s worst editing getting in the way = )
