I bought books i had been holding off on - battle for bond, making of OHMSS etc.
Also don't forget the James Bond archives - that is a pretty awesome book.
The game was rubbish but kinda to be expected considering Bond games' patchy past.
Agree with you on the QOS menu - that vexed me as to why they didn't change it!
Your idea for a movie is insane and would have made Bond fans spontaneously internally combust.
No! %-(
As others have said this has been more than covered already but I couldnt let that stand. Quite probably the worst idea...(Clarkson-esque pause for breath)... in the world.
I'd rather let Lee Tamahori back than give you any creative control over a Bond film. Dear Christ.
And what the hell is an 'Annavisary'?
* It could have been a one off Special like a Tv Movie or something...idk maybe i have been watching too much doctor who...wait would Sponaneously combust be a bad thing? and also my friend said that they did consider back in the 80s to bring Dalton, Moore and Connery together in an adventure together but then they decided to do The Living Daylights
FFS i was just saying it would be an awesome idea to see Multiple Bonds together
and yes sorry "anniversary"
No it wouldnt. It would be and is a shite idea.
Bond actors at the oscars or SF premiere yes but your concept is so beyond bad that I'd prefer the Jinx spin off we never got.
The Jinx film would have been abysmal. You can see EON's mentality - it might have worked as a cash cow - Halle berry had just won an Oscar and was yet to commit the cinematic hate crime that was Catwoman - but the Jinx character was so bland, it's difficult to know how they would have made it anything other than rubbish.
Interesting remarks, @002. Here's what I think:
But man, what a documentary!! I love EoN. Adds so much to what we already knew. It is available outside the UK. I watched it on Belgian television recently for starters. Turns out it will be made available in other ways as well and quite soon at that.
Look, I rather have one two hour documentary in which I learn new things, than a rechewing of the old gadgets - girls - stunts compilation shows we've seen too many of. For additional information, I turn to the DVD's: the inside documentaries, the makings ofs, the story behind Casino Royale's film rights, ...
I can't judge that one yet. ;-)
Nah, not in my book. SF is a bloody good Bond and that's all I need really. DAD was soaked in extra's back in 2002 but left a sour taste. Ultimately, the film is what I want, the film is what I desire to be good. Also, I certainly wouldn't like fancy mash-ups with multiple former Bonds. A celebration needs to be honouring, not mocking.
I would consider it a rip-off if they had turned out something entirely different. That way those who bought the former release of the DVD's would almost be forced to 'upgrade'. This is exactly the kind of selling tricks that give George Lucas a bad name. ;-)
No. I never needed or wanted anything besides one . bloody . good . Bond.
And I got it. :x

Quelle horror!
Worst idea in the world. If Eon had gone down that route they would be an international DAD laughing stock.
Regarding the anniversary well we loved the exhibtion at the Barbican so the 50th was OK by us.
Your friend is just making this up. Or, someone else made this up and told your friend. There's zero truth to this at all.

You're just giving yourself away more and more. Please just go away, we don't want you on this site.
Hilarious. Sean "tax dodging and has had a long lasting grudge with EON for years because he didn't get paid enough" Connery didn't do the documentary or anything because he doesn't like people who only care about money.
No, it's not because of his health or because of his grudge with EON, he had nothing to do with the 50th because he doesn't want to be exploited by people who just want money. Makes sense!
Where can I get whatever it is you're smoking?
Jesustittyf***ingchrist. Aside from the fact you were hoping for more (seriously, do you read, or have any investment in anything relating to popular culture and the logic of how a film franchise works?) that is possibly the single worst idea I've ever heard. I'm astonished.
BABS: 'Hey Michael, I was thinking. You know that Bond stuff we churn out every couple of years?'
MGW: 'Yeah, Babs?
BABS: 'How about we royally f*** it?'
MGW: 'Go on...'
BABS: 'That Kiwi guy, the one who thought cardboard cut-outs of ice on a runway was an acceptable peice of set decoration...'
MGW: 'Tamagotchi?'
BABS: 'Yeah, well he had that great codename theory, remember?'
MGW: 'Come to think of it, it was rather good wasn't it? Especially if we wanted to completely ass-**** the living bejesus out of our family's legacy'.
BABS: 'How about we run with it?'
MGW: 'I'm not sure. As fantastic as it sounds, Mendes already signed on for Skyfall?'
BABS: 'Yeah, but we'd have Brosnan, Craig, and Dalton, Roger could be retired...'
MGW: 'Hell to the yes, and maybe George could run a Florist's in Wimbledon where the wreaths for the countless victims of the double-0's are meticulously woven.'
BABS: 'You're getting subversive again, Michael.'
MGW: 'Sorry, I'm just bloody excited about all this. I could literally scream.'
BABS: 'Look...'
MGW: 'What?'
BABS: 'Here, on this fansite... somebody with exactly, and I mean exactly, the same idea. Either he's bugged our office or he's a god damn, ruddy-bloody genius. **** Skyfall!!!!!!!! **** Mendes!!!!!!!
MGW: 'Ha ha! **** Skyfall, it's time to unleash SKYBOLLOCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
F-bombs removed by mods.
You do know most tax payers money is funding government sponsored terrorism including illegal drone attacks ? and overpaid politician salaries ...but thats another issue. And I dont blame Sean for moving out of Scotland, he wants independence for his country! and by god he is right for wanting so, the united kingdom is a total mess, my god there's not even a first or second amendment and the violence and crime is sky high! my god London has become Londonistan, the EU is destroying Europe. You're not even allowed to purchase anything over 500 dollars in cash, or you need a credit card to do so...and unfortunately America is currently being taken over by the new world order ..the world is ran by a global corrupt elite
Ok this should erase any doubts. Mods, please ban him again.
I didn't mention Scotland at all. But while we're on that subject, Sean loves his country so much he accepted a knighthood, and despite the fact that he's living in the Bahamas as a tax exile he still bangs on about UK politics.
This is hilarious.
And also kind of sad. Why am I replying to you?
Good:
Skyfall was amazing
Bond in Motion was amazing (visited)
Designing 007 was decent, if not amazing (visited)
The James Bond Archives is a great, if slightly superficial book
The Top Gear 50th Anniversary Show was fun
The 50Th Anniversary Concert was well performed
Everything or Nothing was a well researched and presented film.
Bond 50 Blu-ray box set (yeah it's a shame about the QoS Blu)
Bad:
No vintage Bond released in cinemas (would have loved to see FYEO on the big screen)
007 legends was absolute garbage
No new Sideshow 2012 Bond figures (wishful thinking though)
No extended/deluxe Quantum of Solace DVD/Blu Ray
All in all, 9/10.
It wasn't like that in Rog's day, they preferred to pretend Connery didn't exist, they sort of created their own vibe, their own world. Just M, Q and Moneypenny existed from the previous days.
Oh, okay, the stuff about the new world order is a bit wacky, why not the freemasons too?
Anyway, I'd have liked to have seen some Bond films reissued on the big screen in London but guess it may have clashed with Skyfall.
