Funny, I thought he said LALD during the build up to SPECTRE. Or was that Mendes?

He’s earned it. All of the James Bond actors have. Any other Bond alumni who had one?

Other than Knives Out 2, what type of roles do you think he will go after?

I forgot that was happening so soon. Going to watch it in full later tonight but he seems very pleased in the snippets I've seen. Congratulations, Daniel, it's more than deserved.

Daniel Craig and Ruth Negga are teaming up to bring “Macbeth” back to Broadway.

Craig is returning to the Great White Way, after performances in “A Steady Rain” and “Betrayal,” to play the titular role, while Negga is making her Broadway debut as Lady Macbeth. The upcoming revival will run for a limited 15-week engagement.

The Shakespearean tragedy, one that involves malice, matrimony and murder, tells the story of one couple’s obsession with power — and their guilt after doing the unthinkable. A press release announcing the show promises “this thrilling new production will capture the passion and ferocity of Shakespeare’s most haunting text like never before.”

Sam Gold (“A Doll’s House, Part 2” and “Fun Home”) is directing the Scottish play. It is scheduled to begin performances on March 29, 2022 ahead of open night on April 28 at Broadway’s Lyceum Theatre. Additional casting will be announced at a later date.

“I am beyond thrilled to be participating in this historic season as theatre re-emerges, and to be working with two such masterful actors on one of dramatic literature’s most challenging and epic dramas,” Gold said in a statement. “I can’t wait to get started!”

Barbara Broccoli will produce the play, reuniting the veteran James Bond producer with Craig, who recently wrapped his five-film stint as the suave British secret agent in “No Time to Die.”

“Daniel is not only a great film actor but a magnificent theatre actor as well. I am thrilled that he will be supporting the return of Broadway playing this iconic role with the exquisitely talented Ruth Negga making her Broadway debut and under the expert direction of Sam Gold,” Broccoli said in a statement.

“Macbeth” will feature scenic design by Christine Jones, costume design by Suttirat Larlarb, lighting design by Jane Cox, sound design by Mikaal Sulaiman, original music by Gaelynn Lea, special effects design by Jeremy Chernick, fight direction by David Leong, casting by David Caparelliotis.

Additionally, Michael Sexton and Ayanna Thompson will serve as text consultants and Dawn-Elin Fraser will serve as vocal coach. Kevin Bertolacci will serve as production stage manager and 101 Productions, Ltd. will be the general manager.

Along with Broccoli, producers will include the Shubert Organization, Michael G. Wilson and Frederick Zollo. Patrick Daly will serve as executive producer.

Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Oct. 8 at 10 a.m. ET.

Has anyone already shared this? I think this is a great photo.
AND ... I just clicked into it. I don't think spoilers will appear, none yet, but it is a rather strange collection of photos in reply. This is a Lea fan account. Anyway, the main photo I showed is quite lovely, I think.

I find it funny that a few times in these forums we've gotten into who Craig's Bond might have been when he was in his late teens/into his 20s, and SAS service aside, what he would have gotten up to during the 90s, would he have been in the club scene at all, what music would he have been listening to...Craig states (about halfway through this 2-minute clip) that the best gig he was ever at was Asian Dub Foundation in 1996.

The fact that he’s a straight guy that feels comfortable to go to a gay bar actually demonstrates how he is NOT at all conflicted about his own sexuality. That’s the kind of confidence that shows that shows how fit he was for Bond.

Daniel craig is about as unbondian as you can find : hes a male feminist, short, blonde, not particularly handsome, very awkward guy in RL, prefers gay bars to normal ones. ya im sure Connery and Moore went to gay bars and made feminist comments.

long glory to the old bonds who were real men. also i bet i can kick craig's ass. that old alligator arms midget.

but all that said and done he's easily the best actor to ever play bond and hes shagged the hottest bond girls without a doubt ; vesper to the red girl in Quantom to the russian girl and now Swan. he craves the french women! oh la la!

In RL Craig may be all of these things (however, if you actually dig into his history a little you will find he was quite the womanizer in his youth (see Sienna Miller), and some, including his father, admitted he had very useful fists), but the actor's job is to, you know, act. He did this and thankfully sold the physical part of the character as well, unlike his predecessor who couldn't throw a punch to save his life.

But in the end, as @MakeshiftPython already stated, a man comfortable with his sexuality will be comfortable anywhere, including a gay bar.

This is a pretty great photo ...

Daniel's ears have burnt to a crisp by now. He stars in this film. It's his final Bond movie. It is the most controversial Bond movie ever and he's on screen in almost every scene. His performance is more than very good; he's superb. NTTD is an amazing journey, so beautifully filmed. Members here are picking the film apart in detail, chatting about everything (as we always do) ... and yet I had to go to page 8 on this forum to find the thread specifically appreciating Daniel Craig. ;)

Onward to Knives Out 2. But Daniel Craig's James Bond will be forever in the series canon, set apart as very memorable indeed. And for many members, pure gold, including his last one.

Daniel Craig is the man! Watch Layer Cake this week-end, it works fine as a Bond prequel.

I have not seen Layer Cake in years. It was marvelous. :)
And do you remember they had planned a sequel? Yes, they did ... though I don't recall Daniel's input on that. Just the writers were working it up.
