I was going to show a picture of Frank Gorshin looking like Putin, but it’s isn’t on Google anymore. But yes, DC could put off Putin in a movie on him.
I never saw a resemblance to Putin. But in one of the early CR promo posters, he sure as hell looks just like Damian Lewis.
If anyone's getting cast as Putin based on resemblance, it would have to be Matthias Schoenaerts.
You thought his performance in TGWTDT was dark or the film was dark? I didn't think his character/performance was dark...it was everyone else.

Daniel Craig Reportedly 1st Choice for Mister Fantastic Over Krasinski

That explains why Krasinski appeared with a beard, he was probably unwilling to shave it off for what's essentially a cameo appearance.
Also, it's pretty obvious in the scene, and Covid played a part in that too, that all the cast members were shot separately, to accommodate the various schedules for the actors.
Regarding Justin Kroll, maybe he got an incomplete tip, maybe Craig's character was already changed from Balder to Mister Fantastic before he cancelled his appearance. Anyway, it hardly matters as both Craig and Krasinski are unlikely to do anything for Marvel outside of cameos. I doubt that Craig would like to be attached to another long term contract with a franchise. And Krasinski, apart from being "too nice" to play Reed Richard (who's a control freak), has a successful career as a director that he now puts first.
On the DC side of things, I thought he would make a great Mr. Freeze.
