I refuse to click on a dailymail link just to see the pic, so can't comment on it (sounds fine to me though), but there's no mystery with British tabloids at all: they are despicable and idiotic. How there are enough people to spend money on them so that they stay alive is beyond me.

Just watched an interview with DC on ITV's This Morning, Jeez. Embarrassing isn't the word. There is no wonder Daniel Craig gets a bit pissy sometimes having to listen to drivel like this. If you haven't seen it, don't bother, I've just saved you from wasting 5 minutes of your time on earth.

Just watched this video over in the production thread. Truly awful interview. The interviewer thinks its the 50th anniversary Bond film...she thinks this is the first time we see Bonds apartment in a Bond film (do your research before you ask your questions!). I think the reason they cut back early to the studio was probably Daniel decided I have had enough of this stupid idiotic "journalist" and cut the interview short the minute she started pulling out a car windscreen banner...I'm surprised some of these "journalists" are allowed anywhere near a "press" junket.

Yes absolutely. I'm not a big fan of graham Norton but when he interviews DC tomorrow he will have him on side and showing his sense of humour. Idiot 'interviewers' like the woman on This Morning are just a different league of shit and aren't able to do this, so when they try it comes across as a shambles.

Sometimes I think dealing with the media must be harder than the actual acting, it must be nice when they are interviewed by someone who actually knows about movies.

I know I've noted it a ways back, but I read a great article about the time CR was opening, and it noted that being able to handle the grueling world wide promotion effort for a Bond is equally as important as playing the part well. Handling the media well is not one of Craig's strengths. Moore was the best. Broz was pretty good too. Dalton didn't always seem comfortable with it. Connery didn't suffer fools well, and Laz was an idiot (sorry Laz lovers, just my .02).

If your an artist who has just giving your all in a role and want to talk about the film and a journo has 5 minutes to ask questions how would you feel being asked how many polo necks did you wear? Did you keep any, will you pout for me. I would have kicked her!

It was when she asked if he would play a Bond baddie that he lost the will. The piece of crap windscreen sticker was just icing on the cake. I would have loved to have seen his reaction! :-O

Well, I tell my kids "discipline is doing what you don't want to do." EON and Sony have the deep pockets to hire media staff to work with their actors before hand and rehearse them with every conceivable scenario of questioning so they know how to react professionally during all kinds of interviews in many different cultures, not just to put the film in a good light, but to protect themselves from mistakes that could cause them bad press. It should not be that difficult or horrible, they are actors use to playing a role. All actors have to put up with it, many with far less resources. Some are very good at it. Craig has many strengths as an actor, but dealing with the press ain't one of them.

Correct. As you said earlier Moore was a master at this type of stuff, charm personified regardless of who was firing banality at him. Ah, the good old days.
