Anyone else find Skyfall a bit lame?

Here is my Rotten Tomatoes review:

" Oh dear. Oh DEAR.

Just felt predictable, bland, pointless and full of cheap cameos and ideas. I quite liked the new Q, and I liked the introduction (up until "Take the bloody shot!", which I must admit was an awesome line!).

Whatever happened to the beauty, confidence and complexity of Casino and Quantum? How on EARTH did we end up with this?

I mean I know the budget got slashed but it feels like they cut the stuff that makes Bond awesome like amazing locations, complex storylines or almost anything. All we have left are clichés and what appears to be a dying series.

Guys sort it out... this movie was seriously depressing.

Truly a "skyfall"!

Hopefully it's just "recession depression" and the series will be back to strength once the economy has recovered!

On the plus side, I bought GoldenEye and Dr. No on DVD to make myself feel a bit better!

2.5 / 5 "

Opinions?

There are several threads in which you can place your review (although I think a review needs more substance to it), no need to open a new thread.

As to your question, no I personally think Skyfall is anything but lame.

I agree 100% . Skyfall is nowhere near the quality of Casino Royale. Skyfall relied too much on past gimmicks and cliches. Silva was absolutely laughable, the whole movie was like watching a Tom and Jerry cartoon episode. I was really disappointed after I left the theater. It was Daniel Craig's worst performance yet, not his fault, but because of the lazily written script . Thomas Newman dropped the ball here too, I missed David Arnold so much. Skyfall wasn't made for Bond fans. it was made to accommodate the casual movie goer audience to make a quick Buck, and that they did.

I thought you loved it? Giving yourself away even more now.

If there was ever any doubts this makes it obvious that @Oligarch is you know who. This is exactly what he was saying about SF.

The fact that SF is the biggest Bond film at the BO in 47 years, arguably is the biggest Bond film of all time, had been nominated for more Oscars than any previous outing, has gained global acclaim from reviews, and is becoming renowned now as the best Bond film of all time, I suggest your opinion is in the minority.

Expect more of the same for Bond 24, which makes me very happy!!
