I will never figure out why the three goons want to fight Bond in Saida's dressing room. I used to think they were goons from Hai Fat or Scaramanga but that makes no sense as Bond has just started on the trail. If they are workers from the club what did Bond do to antagonize them?

I hate this scene. It's not just the randomness of the attack, but also
    1) Why didn't MI6 send someone to retrieve the bullet sooner?
    2) What do they need this bullet for? One was sent to Bond, no?
    3) We are in Beirut, yet the series known for its travelogue qualities doesn't even allow us an establishing shot? No shots of Bond in an airport? We merely jump-cut from an office to this dance club. The whole thing feels like such a cheap shoot inside film studios. I get the sense that Roger literally stepped out of MP's office, into the club, then into two yards of fake street, and then into Q's lab.

Oh my, after the complete tonal shift in DAF, and Kananga dying from being popped like a balloon in LALD can y'all REALLY complain about anything in TMWTGG??? Great Ceasar's Ghost!

They previously had trouble with 002, so when another Brit came into their club, they probably got suspicious. I assume that walking in on Bond handling their merchandise probably sent them over the edge and they just decided to toss him out.

    1. Maybe they did but just didn't realize she'd turned it into a belly charm.
    2. The one MI6 got wasn't a real bullet, just a "charming trinket." Scaramanga would've definitely noticed if one of his million-dollar bullets was missing.
    3. Yeah this was very jarring, event though I like the fight scene and actually think it's the best in the entire Moore era.

Once again, we reach! But his bullets were way cheaper than a mill each....

Fair enough regarding the first two points, but the best Moore fight? I cannot follow you there, I'm afraid. Bond vs Sandor, Bond vs Kristatos, Bond vs the twin, ... all play so much better IMO.

    The bullet issue.

Nobody knew Scaramanga and I suppose they needed a confirmation. That's why they want a second bullet.

So we are to believe that Andrea Anders got a special golden bullet made and had it stamped with double-o-7? Why wouldn't Bond or mi6 study that bullet first and then if it proves inconclusive have Bond dispatched to Sadia?

I enjoy Golden Gun, I rank it highly in the Moore movies. There are plot holes here to drive a large truck through.

Correct. I apologize. I meant Erich Kriegler, of course.

I think it is one of Moore's best fight performances, he's getting stuck in a bit more than usual and is quite convincing. For me it's probably this one and Octopussy's parlour fight.

It's funny, I've said it before, but despite Roger perhaps not exactly being the toughest guy on the planet, he probably had more screen fights than the other 007s put together.

Not only that. When he launches his fists or kicks up his feet, he means it. Roger was committed.
