Haha I wondered this! I was chatting to my sister about it a week ago and was like "So why didn't they just...?"

lol :)

EDIT -- Oh, and apologies if this has been shared before... I had a quick search and couldn't find it!

Besides the opening, this is by FAR the worst one they've done. Bond sounds like he was recorded in a restroom stall. I love these videos but this one was very dull

Very amusing every time, but I am quite sure this video has been on this site somewhere before.

I'm mainly talking about the point it raises though that they may as well have just arrested Le Chiffre instead of playing poker etc, but that it would have also been very boring :)

Didn't they want Le Chiffre to willingly seek protection to MI6 (or CIA as it turned out)? Not so easy to make a lift in a foreign country, with an unwilling target.

True. I suppose he would be less willing if he still hadn't gone through with his backup plan and seen it fail. That's some kind of logic.

And MI6 could have theoretically earned a few millions in a poker game. Let's not forget either that to capture him Bond would have had to go through Le Chiffre's bodyguards as well as the unknown contractual employer of Le Chiffre (the then unknown force of Quantum). Cornering him in a poker game would be the safest option to get to Le Chiffre.
