By the way the ceremony is over, SF won 2 out of 8, not bad.
And the Oscar for best American film goes to...? Nope, ain't never gonna happen because the Americans actually have a bit more class.
Just kidding, my Yankee friends on here....... :D
By the way, considering that Eva Green won the Rising Star BAFTA for Casino Royale, doesn't that count as a win for the film?
Well said.
Congrats to Thomas Newman but the other one is a joke on two counts:
1. As Getafix said wtf is best British picture except a pathetic pat on the back for not being good enough to get a best picture nod (and incidentally how is SF beating Les Mis to Best British Picture but its not good enough to get nominated for Best Picture overall which Les Mis was? Laughable).
2. What constitutes a British picture anyway? I would say not a film that is bankrolled by a major Hollywood studio myself.
Best British Picture seems like an almost made up award just so SF didn't go home empty handed. Pretty pathetic to be honest.
Aren’t certain types of films downgraded automatically because of the genre anyway, so it doesn’t matter how good a film is, politics dictates whether or not it will get recognition when it come to winning the big gong.
Indeed it can @Sandy.
No need to have two threads covering the same subject.
The +1 brigade would have a field day.
Please continue in the thread as linked above.
Thanks.
