Nice article! Not sure how affordable the Vanquish is for most of us, but love that Sunbeam Alpine!

If I saw a Sunbeam Alpine like that, I'd be on it in an instant.

You can have one for 10.000 E !

It really is a collector's item though, because you're "buying" mostly the certified serial number. You could also buy a set of 007 adhesive + bullet holes for less than 100E :

But well, even a yellow 2CV will still be 5.000 or 6.000 E now !

More info (in French) below, 500 were made for France. The seller of the one above claims less than a dozen have survived. 500 were supposed to be made for UK but it seems it did not happen.

I actually saw one (and only one) on the road in the 80s during some vacation.

They didn't mention the ford mondeo from cr.
It's probably the most reliable of the lot.

They forgot about the Renault 11 from AVTAK, my parents had one. They must be really cheap now, if you can find one. It was extremely sophisticated for a 1985 car, electric windows, remote control, central locking, cruise control, etc. Too sophisticated, I would say, the electric components were giving nothing but trouble a few years later.
