1. A better actor playing Felix
2. More thrilling Shrublands scene (fight)
3. More interesting and engaging Largo
4. More thrilling appearance of a motorcycle here (Volpe's BSA vs. Bond's Turbo Seca)
5. (scraping the barrel now) Cooler watch gadget (geiger counter vs. clasp mounted laser)
6. I wouldn't say Lani Hall's theme was better than Tom Jones', but I do prefer it.
#1 better pre credits sequence ? I always thought the Thunderball one was quite dull and over too quickly, and the ridiculous moment of Connery on a jet-pack so soon after his no-nonsense appearances of his first two releases, did him, and the overall release, no favors it would be fair to say
#2 Better theme intro. I can't remember who sang the NSNA theme, but can hear it in my head, and it's better than the Tom Jones' effort
#3 More action and things to get involved in. Too many boring underwater sequences in TB that dragged on too long and left the viewer uncomfortable
#4 A better bad girl involved, that was Fatima Blush over Fiona Volpe
#5 Klaus Maria Brandauer was a better main adversary than Adolfo Celi
'To have one member say Lani Hall's dirge is better than Tom Jones belting out a classic Bond song could be classed as odd. To have two people in a row say it is f*****g insane.'
:))
2) A better Domino.
3) A better Felix.
4) Explaining SPECTRE's plan clearly.
5) Explaining why Bond is at Shrublands.
6) The action scenes are more exciting, particularly the underwater ones.
And even that gag was recycled by Dick Clement and Ian Frenais from Porridge
;-)

3. MR
4. OP
5. TND
6. QOS
5. GE
4. AVTAK
3. YOLT
2. MR
1. DAF
I could also include TND, DAD and QoS but you asked for 6 so,
6) LTK
5) AVTAK
4) Moonraker
3) TMWTGG
2) YOLT
1) Thunderball
5 - TND
4 - AVTAK

5. Casino Royale
6. Skyfall
2) QoS
3) TND
4) TMWTGG
5) TB
6) LTK
2. TMWTGG - significantly weaker than LALD.
3. AVTAK - significantly weaker than OP.
4. DAD - significantly weaker than TWINE, although for me, DAD is as enjoyable as TWINE.
5. QOS - significantly weaker than CR, but then, many of the other entries are.
If I must list 6, I'd probably say YOLT - although IMO, it's not 'significantly' weaker than TB- it holds up okay.
And by the way, I totally disagree with TND - it is my favorite Brosnan film; I rank it quite close to GE.
1) Moonraker - yes, a big step in the wrong direction after TSWLM
2) TMWTGG - yeah, I was disappointed, a good deal weaker
3) AVTAK - yes, it was a big step down from OP
4) QOS - coming after a truly great Bond film; it has a great ending but was full of problems and was (there is that word again) significantly weaker than CR
5) DAF - but really, I dislike OHMSS a lot; Rigg saves the film for me, I simply do not enjoy that movie or think it is much good as a Bond movie ... I think DAF just goes off the deep end, too campy and disappointing but I almost cannot say significantly weaker than OHMSS. Yet for this list, I will put it there.
I am tempted to say honorable mention to: TB and DAD also.
6.QOS
5.OP
4.TB
3.MR
2.GE
1.DAF
I agree with both of you. I thought about pointing this out myself. It's not that I think QoS is terrible. It's just that CR was sooo good that it can't help but pale in comparison.
5. Tomorrow Never Dies (much smaller gap than the other four)
4. Quantum of Solace
3. Thunderball
2. Moonraker
1. Diamonds are Forever
2. Tomorrow Never Dies
3. Die Another Day
4. You Only Live Twice
5. Live and Let Die
#2 Die Another Day
#3 A View to a Kill
#4 Quantum of Solace
#5 Diamonds are Forever

5 - OHMSS
4 - TSWLM
3 - FYEO
2 - TLD
1 - CR
5 - OHMSS
4 - TSWLM
3 - OP
2 - LTK
1 - SF
2. OHMSS- this has a more engaging story/action/cinematography than many of the entries.
3. TSWLM- significantly? Considerably. And you can really see the money on screen.
4. TLD- one of the strongest comes after one of the weakest.
5. CR- only 4 years between CR and DAD, and the quality couldn't be more contrasting.
6. SF- significantly, although QoS is far from the steaming pile others claim it to be.
