6: Chuck Farrell. I really feel they should've used one of the Tiger pilots or someone on security protecting the chopper, etc. That S&M scene is easily the single worst part of GoldenEye. I'm rectifying the whole thing in my novelization (which it seems no one has read... *sadface*).
5: Mr. Kil. Self explanatory as is the rest of my list from here on in.
    4: Jaws (in Moonraker).
3: Viliers. WHYYYYY DIDN'T THEY USE TANNER?
    2: Kronsteen. UUGH.
    1: Charles Grey's Blofeld.

I have avoided characters from the Brosnan films as they are so bad I do not really care who are in them or not.

    Huh?

What do you mean that's cheating?

Oh fine. In any case, I wish most of the cast of The Man with the Golden Gun, Bibi, Stacey and Jinx all probably shouldn't have been included as well.

6 - Beirut (TMWTGG) - We hardly ever saw more than a 2 x 3 m² dressing room.

5 - Space (MR) The Brazilian Amazon are (MR)

4 - Monaco (GE) - because it's such a great place for a Bond film.

3 - Perla de las Dunas (QOS) - In the old days, Bond wouldn't merely have stormed the place, he would have booked a room in it first. ;-)

2 - Sienna (QOS) - I saw a lot of turmoil but very little of Italy.

1 - Bregenz (QOS) - Just shooting in and out really.

    7 - Vincent Price
    6 - Oliver Reed
    5 - Peter Ustinov
    4 - Klaus Kinski
3 - Boris Karloff: He could have been a great menacing figure in the 60s or even 70s Bonds.
    2 - Philip Seymour Hoffman
1 - Peter Cushing: It's a downright crime he was never cast in a Bond film.

@Murdock, excellent choice, sir! I thought about including him myself but then, he was in that television CR play from the 50s. Not saying much of course because that isn't a 'film' as such. ;-)

    1: Peter O'Toole
2: Peter Cushing (good one, Murdock; he could've been the quintessential Bond villain)
    3: Alec Guinness (could've been a fantastic Drax in a 60's Moonraker)
    4: William Holden (as Felix)
    5: Steve McQueen
    6: Anthony Perkins
    7: James Mason

@StirredNotShaken, Mason is another fantastic example. He was so entertaining in North By North West. A different kind of baddie. A gentleman baddie and all the more menacing perhaps because of that. :-)

Perhaps this is out of left field but aside from a villain, I could almost see him as M.

Oh, I like Brad Davis; thanks for mentioning him. Ditto Roy Scheider. :)

And Brando, Olivier, and O'Toole - I adore them as actors and their talents were unique, three of the finest actors ever to live ... but I just cannot quite see them in a Bond film. Even so, I would have loved them to have done one, whether I can picture that easily or not.

James Mason is still my pick.

Oliver Reed gets my vote every time.
O'Toole could've been a brilliant sort of gentlemanly character in the 80's - 90's. Or an endearing British ally of Bond's in an earlier film. Imagine Peter as Sir James Moloney!

Sorry, as I'm a bit belated, but regarding "The top 5 characters you wish we're never in a Bond film": I forgot to include Kra from The Man With the Golden Gun. A truly awful character!
  • List 127:
    6. Talamone (QoS)-stunning location, but we only get one scene there
    5. Hamburg (TND)-all the action there is either in Carver's HQ or in the parking garage
    4. Amsterdam (DAF)-felt like Bond was a tourist
    3. London (every Bond film besides TWINE and SF)-we almost never get anything besides scenes at MI6
    2. Monaco (GE)-an ultimately Bondian locale
    1. Tangier (TLD)-never got a feel for such an interesting place
