Bond 25 has to be a dubstep remix of SPECTRE theme. SPECTRE was the best Bond movie ever made (being based on the best Bond novel ever written) and dubstep is the best genre, so it has to happen!

Yes, that great Bond novel, SPECTRE.

I'd be ok with Arctic Monkeys if they could deliver something like Do I Wanna Know.

Otherwise get Duffy out of retirement for some punchy vocals. She's still got it.

Do I Wanna Know is a cool song, but I honestly don't see why people use it to prove Arctic Monkeys' ability to produce a great Bond theme. The song is about as Bondian as Another Way to Die, if you ask me.

Not a fan of the Arctic Monkeys, unlike Sir Menzies Campbell.

Well, that's one of the reasons. It's 'cool' and has a decent head shaking hook to it from my perspective. AWTD sounded more like unmelodic garbled noise to me. They are both a bit harder edged than what we've gotten in a Bond film to date, and perhaps that's just what the doctor ordered after the last attempt.

Perhaps it's just me, but lately, they've set the bar so low that I'm just about willing to take anything. The quality of the themes have just been so incredibly inconsistent over the Craig era.

With Skyfall, I felt like they did a good job with amending the clashing vocal blunder before it, but little did I know it was only to be followed by another blunder. For you Sam Smith lovers, I'm sorry, but that the last one hardly had a melody to it and just came across as a teenager drowning in his whimperings.

At this point, I'm quite afraid of the end product if they pick another flavor of the month. I just wish they'd care more about what artist/music style fits more than who's popular.

I'm in agreement with a lot of this, but I think even the strong WOTW haters would disagree with the bolded remark. The song features a strong, coherent melody throughout.

On a related note, I'm particularly offended that my SP blu ray copy does not allow for a one touch fast forward past that tripe. I have to do it manually and stop just at the MI6 office scene each time. Torture. I wonder if this was done intentionally.

Nearly all the other Bond blu rays allow a one touch fast forward past the title credits.

Get rid of the faux Bond intro and the song is utter drivel.

We are going to get Queen Bee now that she has shown her interest. And frankly it is a sound choice with probably a song that will be popular and thus a good advertisement for the new 007 movie.

Considering they normally go for the most popular artists based on the charts, there's a new artist named Bishop Briggs. Calling her the next Adele. Check her out on iTunes. Could definitely see it. Also Portugal. The man. Is a new popular band got a very unique sound. The title artist will most likely be someone who is constantly on the radio.. I am in America so artists might be different here on what's played on a regular basis.

  • Another vote for QOTSA here.

@jake24 Yes, yes, I'll give you that. Perhaps better put is that the song, not just lyrically, but also melodically is so deeply rooted in syrupy soap opera semantics that, at least to me, it comes across mushy and bland.

That's not even considering that the song (whether or not it is supposed to resemble some characterization of Bond), basically is a parody of today's ott character-based Bond (ie. Blofeld-Bond daddy issues).

Maybe it's me, but I think they've stretched emo Bond too far.

Just curious, what’s happened to the majority of @BondJasonBond006’s posts? They all appear to have been deleted. Have I missed something? Has he been a naughty boy?

There was a report that Daniel Craig wanted US indie band Car Seat Headrest to do the next song. The Daily Star reports that Queen Bey is in talks. I only just realized they meant Beyonce. Surely it’s too early to lockdown the singer?

It needs to be a British band.

Arctic Monkeys and Radiohead would be great, but they aren't popular enough. So that leaves Coldplay.

That said, boy was I ever impressed with Harry Styles' solo effort "Sign of the Times." Talk about a Bond song.
