The late Billy McKenzie's own version of the song he wrote with Yello for Shirley Bassey. From the album "The Glamour Chase".

Yes, Gaga is the obvious rather "hot" popular choice. I just can't stand her.
Hoping for someone else, but I don't know which other would be be considered real contenders, unfortunately. Does anybody have a clue as to Cary's favorite music? I know he would not be making this decision; just wondering.

If the title of BOND 25 will be The Property Of A Lady, must they use the same title for the song or a different title?

They don't have to use the same title, surely.

This must have been posted on here already I am guessing but this song seems to "borrow" rather heavily from Bond.

Not sure I'd want him for B25 but he seems to be making a big splash right now.

I think she could give us the best James Bond theme ever! She's just brimming with creativity.

Could Lorde pull off a Bond theme?
  • I don't want the title to be necessarily sang in the lyrics of the song like it was in the last two films.
  • P!nk would sing a good one. I like the idea of a Florence Welch song, as long as it's uplifting.
  • How about a lesser-known artist for once?

It would be a great way to find an undiscovered voice and at the same time save money on production costs by the millions.

Lesser-known artists are no cash machines and a risk. Also, I don't think the director has much to say about the song, and it does not matter by which record-label an artist is represented. If anything, EON looks for cash-talent among the better-known artists featured at the Grammys and Brit-Awards 2019. And they should have shown already that they can compose and perform a song not too far from a Bond title song.

My predictions would be anyone from this list:
Lady Gaga, George Ezra, Arctic Monkeys, Tom Walker, Janelle Monae, Jorja Smith, Florence & the Machine, Lewis Capaldi

    Surprise guests:
    Ed Sheeran, Adele

    Probably not:
Dua Lipa is sometimes suggested, but I don't think her style resonates well with Bond. Shawn Mendes would be like a repeat of Sam Smith. Michael Bublé fails to resonate with the younger audience. Caro Emerald has a pleasant voice, but Bond is too far from her image and her songs so far.

And finally Laura Mvula: Her composition skills and stage presence are phenomenal and she would be perfect by any means, but her CDs are filed under Jazz, so nobody of the financially relevant, music-consuming target audience has heard of her. Anyway, here we go (maybe EON takes note):

I'm in a band so I could sing it.

This is a publicity shot from my last tour :

Laura Mvula would be amazing! She did a Bondian-sounding song for The Man From U.N.C.L.E.

Sam Fender would be a good choice.

I'd love to see a return to that Chris Cornell vibe for Craig's last picture as 007.

I admit I wanted to dismiss this just from the thumbnail, and now i'm listening to all his stuff on Spotify lol.
A theme by him would have much more of a Duran Duran vibe though, which i would love.

I'm not too sure about the Duran Duran vibe, but he'd definitely be great. This song is one of my favourites and is just a little insight into the amazing Bond theme he could provide us.

So I've done a quick video edit, and put my suggestion for the theme song over the title sequence for Skyfall. The artist is Sam Fender by the way.

I think the song fit better with CR maintile.

Start watching this video at 10 seconds on mute and play your video for the music:

I tried to edit the song to it, but it just didn't fit exactly so I thought I just put it with the Skyfall one.

CR is fine with what it's got, YKMN has aged like fine wine, every time I watch that film that theme gives me goosebumps.

Arnold & Cornell together never would have thought of it before it was announced but boy does it work.

By far the best theme of the DC era and the best theme since VTAK, yes I said it even better than TLD despite Barry's contribution.

Very much so @Shardlake, would like to hear you thoughts on Sam Fender :)

Go watch my edit above. Just wanted to see in a title sequence to truly show how good he could do.

Not really heard him before but there is some promise there. Though when Adele was announced I did expect better.

It looks great on the credits but on its own it's a bit of dirge. I actually thought from the artist who bought us Set Fire To The Sky we'd get something with some power and grit but in reality SF is pretty sedate.

I'd hope Fender wouldn't lose that type of song and just deliver something pastiche. I sometimes think artists get scared at the thought of doing them and then just kind of hit the auto pilot button.

Arnold & Cornell really delivered a modern classic and since then the rest have been playing catch up.

Personally I'd like the Arctic Monkeys as one of my all time favourite Bands got so close last time, in fact they were first assigned until rejected and that godawful Sam Smith song got the job.

I don't imagine Radiohead would want to do it again after that. Is Sam Fender's star on the rise?

The problem is I see someone like Ed Sheeran or George Ezra getting the job, I sincerely hope not but I guess we'll see.

    It's a great title song.

Definitely the best of the Brosnan and Craig eras.

This is how 007 music should sound.
