    'Shaft'

A mildly entertaining film, and I always enjoy watching something with Jackson in it. It's a bit slow at times and the action scenes are a little dull, but it was still relatively enjoyable. I have a cookie for whoever can give me two ties this film has with the Bond universe.

Jeffery Wright stars in it and David Arnold did the score.

Good job! I knew he did the score about ten or so minutes in. It screamed Arnold.

The Dark Knight Returns Parts 1 and 2.

TDKR is an adaptation of Frank Miller's 1986 comic that deals with a 55 year old Bruce Wayne coming out of retirement to fight crime once again in a dystopian Gotham city.

Pretty good film. Though I don't see why they couldn't make it a single film instead of two 76 minute films but I won't complain. The voice acting is also pretty good too. 10/10.

    The Bourne Legacy

It's overly long, and mostly flat but there were a few instances that managed to drum up some excitement. Jeremy Renner is also pretty good, despite not having the screen presence that Matt Damon has. It's a decent film, but it doesn't live up to any of the other Bourne films.

    6/10

American Force 2: The Untouchable Glory (Or for you Cinema Snob fans out there Ninja Untouchables.) 1988.
    american%20force%202%20the%20untouchable%20glory%20poster.jpg

This movie is difficult to explain as it isn't a movie, It's two movies spliced together to make a feature length film. It's plot makes no sense and the acting is very bad. But it's one of those movies that's so bad it's hilarious. Movie A is a badly dubbed Chinese drama film and Movie B is pretty much a cheesy action film with some of funniest one liners ever.

During the Drama of Movie A this Random fight scene appears so abruptly with no setup what so ever. :))

3/10 quality wise but for a good laugh it's worth it for the bad dubbing.
  • After earth - Pretty awful.
  • jack the giant slayer.....so disappointed.... great cast, great director....poor execution.....

I give it 7/10. I agree with everything except Renner's screen presence. He is a convincing action star with a good amount of "gravitas"; it's just the slow pace, I guess.
  • Sinister - This is a genuinely unnerving film, a must for any fan of horror. Highly recommend it.

Prometheus ( the prequel of the Alien series), Ridley Scott refuses to bow the general audience that consider the Alien franchise as cheap shockers. In Alien we got our question answere: : "are we alone out there" and the answer was not the one we wanted and the result turned out to be the Industry (Wyland) dream of exploitation come through at the cost of anything.
In Prometheus the question is that age old question: " What/why are we here for?" And it turns out that this is another question we'd better left alone as it turns out that our makers are big basterds, in more than one sense. RS does show us a brilliantly and beautifull filmed movie in which he slowly creates tension which ends in a big climax (and yes leaves a lot of opening for a sequel). This kind of moviemaking seems to be forbidden these days it has to be all action or this movie is deemed by the "moviefan" as a failure. For me the Alien series have always been about certain topics mostly about live in most of its guises and the alien pest as anti-life, the movies show us about humans and created humans (artificial life) and their place in the universe. Prometheus also celebrates life but shows us that it can be taken away with one small infestation. The movie should be seen more often and is well worth your time.

One complaint, why is the sequel of this movie not yet in post-production?

Gangster Squad. Was in two minds as to whether i was going to watch it? The only reason i did was Josh Brolin, the more i see of this guy the more adoration he earns. Great performance and i have to say i enjoyed the movie too. Penn was a pretty convincing villain too and i really enjoyed seeing Robert Patrick as a no nonsense cop!

It came out last year, give it a chance! It should be released in 2015 or 2016 with any luck.

Casino Royale (2006) and a day or two before that, Strangers On A Train, a fantastic Hitchcock movie. I'm a huge Hitchcock fan....he directed my #1 favorite movie of all-time, after all -- Vertigo.

@RogueAgent, do you plan on seeing the remake of 'Oldboy' because Brolin is in it? I refuse to believe that it will beat the original, but I have to see Lee's twist on the entirety of the story. That film still stands as one of the greatest twists ever.

Not seen the original for my sins, but I will probably take in both.

@RogueAgent, you must see it, preferably un-dubbed. I saw it on Netflix Instant and the entirety of it was dubbed, sadly.

Will do "Creasy47", thanks for the recommendation.

Just watched "Seven Psychopaths!" Have to say Walken is just so classy! Absolutely love the guy and even at his age, he still can be menacing and touching at the same time. Though it is dark, it is also very funny. Or at least I thought so.

Watch the complete revenger's trilogy....old boy is the midldle one.

Netflix has an option to take the dubbing off. Easy to do.

Just watched Thnigs to Come...don't make em like that anymore. It's true what Public. Enemey said...burn Hollywood burn...

@forgotmyusername, not for 'Oldboy,' it doesn't. Dubbed is the only option.

Watched 'The Naked Gun 2 1/2' last night, hilarious just like the first. Nielsen doesn't even have to do anything, just look about and it makes me laugh. So much subtle comedy in these films that you'll miss if you aren't paying attention. Watching 'The Naked Gun 33 1/3' now. Looking forward to it.

@forgotmyusername, let me know. I watched it about a month or two ago and it was solely dubbed for me, no option for the original language.

I have UK Netflix it's not dubbed, I'm getting neat little subtitles...plus just discovered Lady Vengence is linked with it...the last of the trilogy. Excellent nights viewing ahead.

On the Apple Tv control hold down the centre select button whilst viewing and it will give you the option of dubbing or subtitles.

I neither have Apple TV nor UK Netflix. Here in the States, I'm given no language settings, it's just permanently dubbed. What a joke.

I know how to change language and subtitles - I prefer the latter on almost everything I watch - but when I go to change the language of the film, it's just in English. No choice.

I saw "RUSH", directed by Ron Howard. Really enjoyed it. Chris Hemsworth and Daniel Brühl were great.
