Really fun, action packed film. The plot is similar to the Bourne identity. The stuntwork is great, which should be expected with Jackie Chan. The fight scenes are brilliant too.
The fight on the rooftop, has to be one of the best fights in a movie. I can't recall another movie fight where I felt bruised by the end of it.
The whole rooftop sequence is awesome. There's the fight, and that epic stunt where he slides down the roof.
Watched this little beauty last night. I can see why people think this is the greatest comedy of all time. The comedy is brilliant and always has you smiling. Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon on fast on point, and have such brilliant chemistry on screen, both in and out of costume. Marilyn is, as always a stunner, and an absolute joy to watch. I have a smile on my face every time she lights up the screen. All three create a great combination and really make the film that much better for being in it. This is for fans of classics and good comedies, because this one is the major influence of modern comedy pictures. I highly recommend this one, as usual.
My adventure into Bogie land continues with this great mystery. Humphrey is Sam Spade, private eye and master of smooth talking. This one has a great story and cast of characters that actually balance better than you'd think. It is much easier on the thinker than The Big Sleep, but both are brilliant and always interesting. Humphrey is amazing as always, the king of noir, and carries the film along with a great cast including Peter Lorre, who would reunite just a year later in the incredible Casablanca. A great noir, and it comes with a recommendation from me. Bogie is simply the king of cool, and everything he does, even if it is a mistake looks like he meant to do it. A true master of his profession, and a man who's legacy will continue to outlive him.
I rather enjoyed that. This might be my biased opinion, but I thought Huppert owned this film.

She's one of my favourites. :)
Don't care what people say, its a good movie :D
Much better than Avatar IMO.
I didn't mind Avatar but I agree with you.
Glad to see other who like this film. It's one of my favorite Jackie Chan movies. The rooftop fight is in my top five martial arts fights.
I think Segals character was written for Owen Wilson, but this is a really funny, underrated film.
Also, Rush are in it, and they mention Dalton as Bond.
An amazing film I love more every time I watch it. Dustin Hoffman is absolute brilliance, and one of my favorite film performances of all time as an autistic savant. Tom is great as usual, and portrays his character Charlie's slow progression of learning to love Raymond and bonding with him. A must see film, and a film you learn an important lesson from. One interesting thing I got smirking at, and I hope someone else noticed this too, is the song used at the start of this film. The song is "Iko Iko", and it is also used at the start of Mission Impossible 2 when Ethan is rock climbing. I never saw this before and suddenly realized it. Funnily enough Hans Zimmer scored both films and I am curious as to whether the inclusion of the song in MI2 is a wink to Rain Man.
Last movie saw was Out for a Kill with Mr Seagal, he's sadly a shadow of his former self now. Out for a burger would of been a more appropriate title :-<
And the Hulk for the first time is absolutely brilliant, he has some of the best moemts in the movie.
It has been some time that a movie really impressed me. And if you watch it go to the cinema it is well worth the effort and really belongs there.
Okay, I'm absolutely thrilled!
I agree with @SaintMark's remarks concerning Hulk. In my opinion, it's difficult - though not quite impossible - for Hulk to carry a film all by himself. Also, Ruffalo may be my favourite Banner, on pretty much the same level as Bixbie (here's where nostalgia talks, people). I love the score (it's Silvestri! Yeah!) and the camera work is downright excellent (I won't spoil the fun but there's an exciting sequence of shots during the end fight that made me hold my breath for about a minute and a half.)
Overall, Avengers is my go-to reference from now on in case people want to know about good Marvel films (second only to the X-Men series IMO but then I really am a fan of the astonishing X-Men ;-)).
Love this film. I own the 5-disc complete collector's edition. I saw the finale cut years ago, when it was first released, I wasn't a fan of it. I haven't seen the international cut or the directors cut yet. Can someone tell me what differences are in each version?
My name is Nobody 4/6 , just something I watched to kill some time.....not GBU or Once upon West but kinda enjoyable. Stars Terence Hill and Henry Fonda.
Morten Harket claims he was offered the role as Spiderman (Cannon were planning a Spiderman for '88 , it never materialized due to financial issues although advance posters were printed) and also to star opposite Helen Mirren in another movie.
LOL when Dolph L imitates Sir Rog in that English accent , makes me chuckle.
That list is pretty long. Actually, Wikipedia has a fairly good description of it. ;-)
The main differences involve Ford's painful narration over the film and the ending of the film. I myself am all into the final cut. Best visuals, best pacing, no narration (thank God!) and a more ambiguous ending.
It's an awesome superhero film, one of the best (if not the best) ever made!
I agree with @SaintMark and @DarthDimi about Hulk. He is the best one, both as Bruce Banner and the Hulk. Best of the Avengers is definitely Iron Man. He's just awesome.
(1979 - Don Coscarelli)
A cult favourite of mine, highly recommended to people who, like me, enjoy low budget horror trash from the late seventies - early eighties.
One was fantastic, one wasn't.
I'll be seeing The Avengers soon.
I showed it to a friend of mine who's also a 007 fan but hadn't seen this one yet. He quite enjoyed it. It's far and away the best of the 1960s Bond movie spinoffs and equal in quality to many mid-range Bond series entries. I give it *** out of ****.
Oh yes. =D> Have you seen Some Girls Do yet, PKK?
OK I am gonna try to find this one for sure. It will have a different name and diffferent picture on the cover here in Japan (which makes it fun sometimes, just frustrating sometimes), so tell me what year is it and ... oh wait, is it English produced, an English speaking film? If not, I cannot get English subtitles here. Help. I like Jackie Chan.
Not yet, Major. It's not available on DVD in my region. We did look up the trailer for it online after we watched DTTM.
Have you seen this film, Major?
Being an early talkie, it's a little creaky but fun. Ronald Colman plays Bulldog Drummond, Montagu Love plays Carl Peterson and Lilyan Tashman plays Irma, all 3 characters who appeared later in DTTM.
