What happened to Ed Wood? - brilliant film. For me one of his best, certainly way better than C&TCF.
or "Hello daughter…"
On another point I enjoyed the score, Wonder Woman's them in particular stood out.
Batfleck is a Godsend.
Now I pray for Matt Damon being cast as Nightwing for the Batfleck movie [-O<
I can do with a solo Bat film without sidekicks.
Great cast with Emily Blunt, Josh Brolin and our old mate from LTK, Benicio Del Toro who steals the entire film in a riveting performance.
Best film I've seen in ages.
Im looking for a western movie, i can't remember the name of.
All i remember is that there is a villian/henchman who always uses a minigun.
It is not Django (1966)
Can you guys help me?
The Good, The Bad And The Ugly?
I don't think i will ever forget that one ;)
It's not that one either. I watched it about 6-7 years ago, and can't remember much.
I feel like it was more modern perhaps around 80's-2000's. Pretty sure it didn't star John Wayne.
Could be The Quick and the Dead Gene Hackman was the villain. Sharon Stone(!) the gunfighter...or even Silverado...?
Haha, that one came up when i did google searches. That one looks like complete garbage.
Neither of those.
I have way to little information, quess i will have to give up.
Perhaps i can ask those i watched it with, but im not sure they remember either.
Anyways thanks to everybody, who tried to help.
Yea, that was what i saw aswell, and i was like: ehm... nop, not that one
Anyways i think i might have found it. Im not quite sure, but the first scene in this trailer seems familiar.
Edit: The irony in it being called. The gatlin gun...
Hey Jonah Hex is great ;;)
It's a real fun DC comic book movie, I like it :D
Maybe you can find it here, although there are some movies missing (I remember seeing one american western set during the Civil War where a duo of confederate spies had stolen one of these and were pursued by a northern counter-spy. One of their contacts decided to steal it and sell it to the local indian tribe on the warpath, forcing the three agents to join forces. Can't remember the name of the movie, though).
Found it : "Siege at Red River", featuring Van Johnson and Joanne Dru.
After The Towering Inferno it was time for Earthquake.
Sadly seeing it after Towering Inferno wasn't that good an idea. While I still love Earthquake I can see its many flaws and some things start to bother me quite a bit.
Ava Gardner is a mere 7 years younger than Lorne Greene. That alone wouldn't be a problem if she played his lover, but she is his daughter...
Some of the special effects just don't hold up against The Towering Inferno's astonishing effects.
But what I still love is the quite dark undertone the movie has. Victoria Principal almost getting abused by the crazy army guy.
And of course the dire ending with the town laying in ashes. That image, the last shot of the movie has always stayed with me, it's quite harrowing.
I like the fact everything is not just sunshine and roses at the end. After an earthquake of that magnitude the future does look bleak.
Probably the best ending ever to a disaster movie!
Invasion Of The Body Snatchers
Don Siegel (1956)
Classic science fiction film, this. Keeps improving upon multiple viewings. Paranoia reigns supreme. Excellent thriller that hasn't lost any of its power.
Invasion Of The Body Snatchers
Phillip Kaufman (1978)
Has all the good stuff of the Siegel original plus the benefit of the 70s aesthetic and a truly remarkable final shot of Donald Sutherland. My favourite film in this series.
Body Snatchers
Abel Ferrara (1993)
This one hardly belongs in the series. More like a cheap Brian Yuzna Lovecraft adaptation. But taking it for what it is and admiring its guts to go to different places with the source material, I'd say this isn't a bad film despite the lack of respect it gets in the shadows of the Siegel and Kaufman film.
The Invasion
Oliver Hirschbiegel, James McTeigue (2007)
A most redundant and in that sense useless remake of the Siegel / Kaufman films. It's not as such a bad or incompetently made film; it merely fails to serve any purpose at all. We have two perfectly good adaptations of the Finney book so why this one? Doesn't make any sense.
