Sully: Tom Hanks as always delivers, but my goodness didn't they try to hang the pilots out to dry. Amazing true story of which I remember watching on the news the day it happened.
Johnny English 3: So funny and silly and I loved it. Olga simply looking delicious as ever. Great fun!
Another classic adventure horror for kids. Indiana Jones was a huge pop cultural phenomenon in the 80s. As with the first one, some seriously silly stuff, but hugely entertaining. Much darker this time, but also much funnier.
Williams provides a haunting score, and Mola Ram is the scariest and most iconic villain in the series.
Wrong is Right (1982), directed by Richard Brooks, was a flop and quickly vanished from theaters. And to be honest, the film is mess...but an interesting mess! It's an uneasy fusion of conspiracy thriller and satire, dealing with still relevant topics: out-of-control news corporations, suicide bombing, spy satellites, oil-rich dictators in the middle east, a Presidential election involving a demagogic populist, CIA skulduggery, terrorism, and missing nukes. Connery is cast somewhat against type as a star TV reporter but seems to be enjoying himself quite a bit (his final scene is priceless!). The rest of the cast is impressive too: John Saxon, Leslie Nielsen, Robert Conrad, Katharine Ross, Dean Stockwell, Henry Silva, G.D. Spradlin, etc.
The film gets my recommendation, especially if you're a Connery fan, but don't approach it with very high expectations. Wrong is Right is a confused dream of the future, a crazy mirror whose broken shards still catch the light after 36 years .
It wasn't as bad as it has been made out to be,i enjoyed it anyway,as a time filler.
Not a bad film, but when you have Klaus Kinki's legendary short fuse, Oliver Reed being... well... Oliver Reed and Nichol Williamson of all people behaving himself, the making of the film sounds far more interesting than the film itself.
I really enjoyed this, it is a slow burn and seems more akin to Jackie Brown in its pace and more laid back and gentle approach.
I had been waiting for this as soon as it was announced and to me I wasn't disappointed.
As for what seems the most controversial scene of late.
Another scene that has been getting a lot of attention.
Those going in waiting for Manson to appear are going to be disappointed it's a blink and you'll miss it moment. Damon Herriman appearing as Charlie in this and Mindhunter always seemed a strange decision.
Although I can see why now Fincher and Netflix agreed to it, Manson is played pretty short shrift, in fact the whole point I think is, QT is demystifying the whole Manson family thing.
He clearly has strong thoughts on event and what an affect it had on America. Also the way he portrays them isn't very complimentary at all and rightly so, they are far from lionized.
This also brings up the end, yes the film is very unlike anything QT has done apart from Jackie Brown but the ending returns us to more typical Tarantino and it has to go down as one of his most violent scenes period.
The ending is similar to that of Inglourious, the rewriting of history and the title kind of tells you this, it's a fairy tale when all said and done.
Someone needs to though get Leo and Brad together again, the effortless chemistry of the two. They were born to act on screen together. Leo gets the more intense deeper scenes it appears but Cliff is quite a tragic character and Brad while looking very chilled and cool also conveys that sadness quite beautifully.
Dare I say they are the new Redford & Newman?
It's a testament to Wendy Robie, it's not like her Sharon Tate gets a lot to say or has a huge amount of scenes but there is a real feeling of innocence to her performance, the scene she goes to watch herself at the cinema and is clearly in the moment of seeing herself on the big screen is very touching and warm.
Quentin alongside Richardson make this look visually stunning, the recreation of 1969 Hollywood is at times astounding in its detail. Once again Tarantino knows just where to place the needle and the usual deft ability to pick just the right track is on display yet again after unusual step to have an original score on the Hateful Eight.
Definitely a return to form and his best since Inglourious Basterds for me, his previous two films while I've enjoyed, I've not been blown away, Hollywood was a much more satisfying experience. Plus no gratuitous use of the N word which was quite refreshing.
If this is his penultimate film and we've only got one more to go, he's got his work cut out to top this, well worth the wait and a film I can see myself revisiting time and time again.
4.5/5

It's just come onto SKY Movies last weekend but I don't fancy it.

Well, you've saved me from making the wrong decision, but,as I said,i didn't fancy it anyway.

Fire long story short I watch a few stitches together episodes does it count in reality no does it count for a deep dive in my opinion ... yeah if there is a huge problem I will remove it...
Just big dumb fun. I have no interest in watching the two sequels though.
Oh and Jim Caviezel is so wooden it's painful.
A terrible actor,i cant understand how he got into films .
Indeed.
You know, you can mock Stallone as much as you want, but the man can act. (Rocky, Cop Land,...)
The Godfather
The Godfather Part II
Probably about the five billionth time time I've seen these movies, but they're still the best gangster movies ever made, along with Scarface.
Next up, Part III.
Ah yes, two of my favorite movies.
Part III is...at times just so boring. But Pacino's performance is top notch and the ending of course gets me every time. (I always cry sorry!) :D
I agree 100%. I also recommend reading the original Mario Puzo novel and The Family Corleone for more of the best of The Godfather world.
The first novel is a great read. Haven t gotten around to anything else. Maybe I should check the library.
