Dredd ( Again, because it's actually pretty good)
    Skyfall
    Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy

    Excellent choices, sir!

LIT is one of my favourite all-time films. Some say it's overrated but I can't agree. It's got haert.

Dredd is a fine movie for fans of that stuff. I'm one of those fans. :-) I went to see it in 3D and it didn't disappoint.

SF: needs no explaining. Great film!

TTSS: I was fine with it but it wasn't exceptional IMO. Just good, borderline great.

You don't really need to. It's good but not must see classics like the first two.

The reviews were right then? Why is it so bad exactly?

I think some of the reviews were a bit harsh but I think it's the worst Die Hard film by a fair distance.

The script was bad, there were barely any memorable characters, his son had no personality, the villians were forgettable and apart from the opening car chase none of the action scenes were very good.

The highlights were Willis (who was playing Mcclane like he did in the first 3 movies) and the car chase. Other than that it was pretty poor.

It's not as terrible as saying GF1 is boring...
Anyway, the third is not as good as 1 or 2 but it's better than many movies in general. It has some classic scenes very worthy of watch them and some new interesting characters.

I was bored and decided to watch this and was annoyed by every minute of it that Val Kilmer wasn't on screen as he's the films only saving grace. Everyone else was a lifeless cardboard cutout. But a notch better than the film that followed.

I would talk about the villains but there so irritating I'd literally get mad just thinking about them.

For those of us who grew up on Adam West's Batman, I have to rate Batman & Robin as follows: As a GOOD, serious take on the Batman: 0 out of 10.
As a tongue in cheek smirk-inducing goof: 7 out of 10.
It all depends upon what you're in for it for.

A Good Day to Die Hard - 4/10

A near complete disgrace to the franchise. The first ten minutes were alright, but the film went to hell right when the first action scene started. On top of that, the best villain in the film (that carrot munching, dancing guy) is underutilized. This is coming from someone who owns and enjoys (to various extents) all the films.

    Avoid.

I enjoy Campy batman too, but Joel Shoemacher's batman movies aren't campy. There just plain bad.

When I am bored I just ask for fifty lashings. You took your boredom too far here, however.

Any film in which Two Face RE-FLIPS HIS COIN and Batman literally says "chicks dig the car" is an abortion of everything the character is and a disgrace to cinema that needs wiped off the face of this earth.

I should have taken the lashing...It would have been better than Jim Carrey's acting in this movie. :(

Though it is a gem compared to Batman and Robin. I think we can all agree upon that one.

    No, we can't. B&R is so BAD it's either terrible or funny depending on your mood. BF is simply terrible. =;

B&R makes me hear "the voices". I don't want to hear the voices.

Ok, just joking, but my head does hurt just from staring at the screen and listening to the horrid dialogue! They need to put a warning on all DVD copies of this film, saying:

If you are a dedicated Batman fan, beware: This film is unquestionably an abysmal mess, a disgrace to not only Batman but cinema itself, and can make you cry when you realize what a mess it is as you soil your custom made Batman patterned underwear. If you grab this case during your viewing of the film, beware slitting your own throat with the promotional cards sealed inside. If you need psychological assistance, utilize our phone services. Ring us at 314-822-HELP and be sure to keep away from any and all sharp objects and electrical appliances while waiting for us to address your complaint. If you wish to correspond with Joel Schumacher, send an e-mail to Batman&[email protected] and we will forward any and all hate messages and possible death threats to his assistants and even his personal account (time permitting; we get a lot of messages). If you are unhappy with this purchase*, we recommend Christopher Nolan's Batman Trilogy for all your caped crusader needs.

*Be sure to keep your receipt. Odds are you will return this.

    Admit it.

    You will.

There's no shame in admitting you purchased this, really. Just tell the cashier you are buying it for your son. Actually, scrap that. They won't believe you.

You could have used the money for so many other things, but you got this instead? It isn't even on sale, you idiot. Yes, I am talking to you.

You're thinking about your purchasing mistake right now, aren't you? Unless you are reading this in the store, in which case PUT THIS DVD DOWN AND WALK AWAY WITH YOUR DIGNITY!

LOL, Brady that's really funny. :))

Sadly, I own the movie as part of the Warner 4 movie set, and I really get a twisted kick out of Arnold's Freeze. Once a decade, anyway.
    I know, I'm a sick puppy.
  • It's not often I get a chance to take in a movie but earlier tonight had a viewing of Anaconda (1997) although have seen it once before. Nearly two hours of my life I won't get back, and there really is some ridiculous nonsense going on there, and it makes Diamonds are Forever almost resemble The Third Man or something, but the female lead made it an experience almost worth watching

    Goodnight

Don't compare a masterpiece to absolute tripe. That wonderful film doesn't deserve such degrading commentary.

Never seen The Thin Man, but Anaconda was a fun 90's creature feauture. IIRC, Voight spends his entire time on screen squninting.

I remember thinking that the silliest thing about it was that it featured an actor "named" Ice Cube.

I watched Anaconda and was surprised that there was actually a big snake in that movie as I thought that the anaconda was played by Jennifer Lopez. ;) (and she can hug me tightly any time :\"> )

As for the Thin man movie, it is brilliant ans while the sequels are not as good they are of evry good quality.

Not seen the Third man?? That is an awefull statement for a Bondfan as that movie is a brilliant spyesque movie.

MAMA good creepy and scary movie. I would not have recognized Jessica Chastain with that dark short hair. I actually think she looked very good in this film.

SIDE EFFECTS It was entertaining but not much to write home about.

Had the afternoon off so I watched Crank. Real guilty pleasure of mine. Pure action porn. It's stupid, OTT and it's, it's, it's brilliant. I really should watch the sequel at some point.

I also watched the classic that is TSWLM today, check my review here

And I watched Skyfall for the third time on Monday night. My thoughts on it haven't changed. Plot could've been better but it's a great film that's definetly Craigs best.

No, no, no. Craig's best is QOS.
    But SF is good.
