Is Skyfall REALLY Craig's best Bond?

It's a great movie but is it his finest hour as Bond?

No. It's good. It's better than most of the Rog era, all of the Brozza era and half of Sean's.

But in answer to the question it's not better than CR.

I loved Skyfall but Casino Royale is still #1 in my book.

No but it's better than Quantum of Solace. But to me it's also just as good as Casino Royale. There both perfect in there own ways.

It's neck and neck, but I think I still prefer CR. They're both great Bond films though. Both sit in my top 5 easily.

It kind of begs the question: will Craig ever do better than his first outing? It's gotta suck a bit to hit the ball out of the park your first time up. I suppose that's also the downside of making the Best Bond Film Ever. Even if you then make the Second Best Bond Film Ever, people will only say, "yeah, but it's not as good as his other one".

Pretty much tied for me with CR; but I think I give Skyfall's Bond a slight edge. But I do go back and forth. Both CR and SF were great Bonds.

I still kinda have a soft spot for Quantum Of Solace, Skyfall does have it's little bonuses though... Love Silva and the whole London setting... Skyfall missed the mark in terms of the ending. The all out assault was amazing but the dispatch of Silva was crappy...

I do love Craig in QOS, yes. I also especially like the way he told Camille how to make her one shot count. My problem with QOS is not Craig.

Craig looked really comfortable on QoS. I think similarly to Pierce Brosnan in TND he looked really comfortable.

I think Craig became Bond in QoS, I just couldn't really buy him as Bond in CR, he seemed a little off somehow.. Nerves maybe?

Skyfall basically matches CR for me, but the latter will always have a special place in my heart that puts it a tiny bit above. It has everything I love about Bond in it from a brilliant Bond performance, theme, Bond girl, opening titles, a great PTS, music, superb action, amazing allies, characters and story. It's a Bond-powerhouse and dare I say, an introduction to a new Bond to match and, to be honest, overtake DN.

I'd wait a couple of decades before I made a statement that bold!
That said, DN is definitely in the pulp fiction category, whilst CR would be more neo classic noir-ish.

That's isn't a bold statement; I think many here would agree that CR is the superior film. On the other hand, QoS being a better film that CR? Now THAT is a bold statement. ;)

There's been far too much talk of Daniel Craig on these pages just recently. Almost saturation coverage, as there are five other James Bond actors we can discuss, but Casino Royale is Craig's best release. Too much humor in Skyfall for the actor, from previously mainly straight faced adventures. Yes, it's a very good release but it doesn't generate the same energy rush as the previous two and Craig evidently slows down a bit. Sure we must have discussed this before at some previous point in time. (which is Daniel Craig's best Bond release)

CR still remains his best for me but SF isn't too far behind. I'd place QoS third in that list but I don't think it's a bad film. Overall a very strong era so far.

Skyfall and Casino Royale is a lot like The Living Daylights and License to Kill for me. The two are constantly switching spots and I'll never be able to decide which one is better. For me, this is a very good thing

This is a great comparison, however if forced to decide I would pick TLD/CR as the better films.

It has too less elements of Bond film. Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace overtakes it.

No Quantum of Solace is not good.
i could hardly see it because of my blindness but Skyfall delivers

Of course there's DC saturation on this board he is after all our current 007. I do honestly think over time QoS will gain a better foothold in people's Bond rankings, in much the same way LTK did.

    1. Quantum Of Solace
    2. Skyfall / Casino Royale
    3. Casino Royale / Skyfall

QOS scores for me because of proof that producers have it them to let make a Bond movie with classic elements, the thrill, production design, cinematopgraphy. At this moment the movie is ranked between TSWLM and LTK.

The introduction of new Bond, violence, the disapointed story, Cornell missing on the soundtrack and single not avaible are a big down for me with Casino Royale. Then it can have Twine style but that not be enough to like it.

Skyfall i rank this moment 1 place higher then DAD, possible it go rank higher but lower is possible too. Some complane's about with QOS i see more in this movie. What i did with QOS between TSWLM and LTK i feel with Skyfall between Dr No and Die Another Day.

But overall all 3 movies disapointed me.

Same. I don't rate CR that highly and I thought QOS was a poor effort overall but SF is easily in my top 10.

No. CR is superior to SF. It's a better Bond film and a better film in general.
