I didn't know Batman 89 was going to be a series. That has me very intrigued.

Ah they've sorted out the logo on his chest! :) Not sure about giving him a comics-style blue cowl and cape though- he doesn't look right to me.

I would support this. The question is who would be responsible for the restoration with Joel Schumacher gone?

Just got hold of the first Batman issue I read, from 1973. Great fun.

Perhaps Akiva Goldsman. He recently stated he watched the unedited cut recently. I’d love to see the directors cut of Batman Forever, as a kid it was my favorite of the original 89-97 Batman films, and I still have a huge nostalgia for the film. Plus Val Kilmer is the most underrated Batman out of all of them.

In the past, I generally have held a higher opinion of Batman Forever. My last viewing of it wasn't the greatest, but I'd be very interested in seeing a less goofy and more dramatic version of the film. Kilmer always had been one of my least favorite Batmans, but there's a deleted scene on the DVD with Bruce reflecting on things in the Batcave that really shows both Kilmer and the film in a more positive light. If that scene is just a taste of what the Schumacher edit would be, then this is one director's cut that really needs to see the light of day.

Is there any chance at all, in all of creation, that there could possibly -- even slightly conceivably -- be an edit of Batman & Robin which might yield a better viewing experience than the one regurgitated into cinemas ?

    No.

Not watching Batman & Robin helps though.

I personally enjoyed reading one of the earlier drafts for Batman Forever. It’s largely the same as what we get in the film/deleted scenes, but also includes direct references to the Burton films, and addresses the lives that Batman himself has taken. The films novelization does the same as well, and gives more background into characters like Two Face, Riddler, and even ties up some of the loose ends from Batman Returns. I give Batman Forever some credit for attempting to explore the mind of Bruce Wayne 10 years before Nolan and Co. did, it just fell victim to the studios desire to make things as light and kid friendly as possible after Batman Returns. Apparently the directors cut sits in the WB Vault. In a post Snyder Cut World, what’s the harm in releasing it?

Perhaps someone among the posters here can explain: What's the beef between Snyder and WB and/or DC films ? One would think that renewed interest in a film already released, capable of making some money all over again, would be welcome ! The studio and DC themselves, in a sense, are doing so in re-making Suicide Squad, with some, though not all the same actors.
  • I think it all stems from the fact that WB didn’t have enough faith in Snyder and used his daughters passing to essentially hijack and ruin everything the man did with Justice League. Then the fact that the Snyder Cut did great, and received better reception than the 2017 Cut probably rubbed some of those executives the wrong way.

I also think we have to remember the context of the Snyder films before Whedon's version of Justice League, and how they were always ridiculed and hated on, from what I remember anyway. Then, with the Snyder Cut, the conversation changed, so maybe it's also WB's hesitancy to end up back where they were with Snyder's films.

It seems like there is a stockpile of potential reasons for this.

Sounds as though at least some of the executives are letting personal feelings get in the way of sound financial judgment and successful creative decisions !

Fair enough, even if it’s for a video game.

After some looking I saw it ID'd as a Mercedes-MayBach Vision 6 Cabriolet.

There is a vintage black Corvette Stingray plus a silver gull-wing Mercedes also featured.
