A link to a fascinating 1981 radio interview with Cubby Broccoli was posted on the HMSS weblog today. Well worth a listen. Recorded prior to the release of FYEO, Broccoli discusses the history of the series, the rising costs of making movies, his relationships with Roger Moore and Sean Connery, the shift in tone between MR and FYEO and, perhaps most gratifyingly, denies that he is "the man" behind the Bond films and gives due credit to the team including his erstwhile partner Harry Saltzman:

    Thank you for posting this. It was a great listen. It's interesting how he said that they decided to make FYEO a more realistic film due to intuition and not from criticism.
