Describe The Bond Films as a Person

Maybe we can have a bit of fun with this one. Let me give you a few examples to get started.

Tomorrow Never Dies is the guy/gal you know who knows of their own dumbass-ery. Yet, they have enough redeeming factors that you continue to be friends with them. Yes, they're kind of stupid, but they are occasionally fun to hang out with.

The World Is Not Enough is the guy/gal you know who believes themselves to be sharp and smart, even though in reality, they are about as stupid (if not more so) than your friend who knows of their dumbass-ery. At every chance, this person tries to convince you how smart they are, but they are just trying too hard, too often.

Die Another Day is the guy/gal you know who you invite to a reunion lunch after not seeing them for a long time. As you sit at the restaurant table waiting for this person, you remember their reputation of being a complete idiot. When they arrive, however, you are surprised to see that they have apparently changed their ways. You have an enjoyable conversation with them and catch up. About an hour into the lunch, however, this person suddenly strips naked and streaks out the restaurant onto the street outside. They are just as stupid as you remember after all.

Have a go at it!

Moonraker is like my cosplay acquaintance at a Sci-Fi convention who was dressed as a Cylon, he looked REALLY good, but later he hit a kid in the face with his sword due to his arrogance & limited vision.

GoldenEye is like a friend who you haven't seen in ages and is always proclaiming on social networking sites that they've changed their hairstyle and gotten a new wardrobe and matured so much. You look forward to seeing them again and set up a meeting. When you see them, they in fact haven't changed at all and are the same person but just older and maybe sporting a new hat or something.

Time to give voice to the little guy:

Quantum of Solace is the smaller brother of Casino Royale, and they often compete for the affections of their parents. All throughout childhood the two brothers contentiously battled for attention, where Royale came out as the favorite while Quantum fell by the wayside and often cried himself to sleep at night out of a lack of care sent his way. Every special holiday from birthdays to Christmas it was Royale who got the shiny new bikes, the awesome basketball hoop and large swimming pool, while Quantum received rip-off DVDs and low priced toys from bargain outlets that broke after just a couple days of use. To escape his frustrations at not being noticed by his parents, Quantum found inspiration in creative activities that helped him discover just how beautifully artistic he is, and began to dive into literature that made him realize how intelligent and blessed he was. As years past, the parents noticed these great talents Quantum had that they had first been unaware of, and though he was not like Royale, they were happy that he had become his own person, were grateful to have him as their son and finally realized how wonderful a son he was. For many holidays on, both boys got the best of gifts from their caring parents.

Die Another Day is like a dear old couple who have been together for going on 40 years. Both were deeply in love and had always been dedicated to each other, making it through many tough times together. Looking back, their past had been one big adventure full of new changes and unexpected obstacles. Still, they managed to pull through every challenge that stood in their way, no matter how it changed their lives. Closing in on their 40th anniversary, the husband is growing sick with age and has Alzheimer's. While the wife thinks he is going to pull through it, he gradually grows angry and resentful, forgetting what they had together, and almost loses track of what has made their marriage survive the past 40 years. While he tries to desperately reference their past in an attempt to show his wife that he still remembers, every memory is fractured, out of place and unfulfilling because he doesn't remember their greatest moments. Eventually he grows gravely ill, more than ever before, and dies painfully and screaming in his bed. Though tormented, the wife soldiers through the pain while still missing the husband she knew before the horrible illness claimed him. After several years she has managed to move on and has a new man in her life who is her age and reminds her of all that makes her happy. They have both committed to making a new life together, not held back by their pasts, and are doing magnificently, doing new things and creating fresh memories while still keeping in touch with the past they love, showing that old age doesn't mean you have to slow down.

Dr. No - is like your true, great love.
You go somewhere to get away from it all, and someone turns up so unexpectedly different and surprisingly right, unlike all the others before. You weren't looking for him or her - they were just suddenly there, in full hotblooded technicolor, looking you right in the eyes ... and you simply knew, from that first moment, and actually thought to yourself: That's my woman, or That's my man. And as the years go by, and you get to really know each other through thick and thin, hard times and good times, less hair or more padding, there still remains at the core a solid polished gem that nobody or nothing can take away from what you have together. Two warm hearts beating as one, even when many things have lost their glamour. There the two of you are, maybe not looking much like you did when you were young, but you still see that in each other. Still humming Under The Mango Tree and holding hands, even as you help each other up some stairs. The real thing lasts.

Dr No - The wise old grandfather that you loved dearly. Words cannot describe how great it would be to get to know him better as an adult if only time had given you the chance.

On Her Majesty's Secret Service - Myself. Some 10 years ago. An idealistic and innocent time when you fall so deeply in love that you think that marrying this woman is going to change the entire world. Then reality comes crashing down upon you.

The Spy Who Loved Me - It's kind of like looking at a picture of your dad when he was a young man. Wow, he really was quite the swinging ladies man wasn't he? I wonder what it would be like to hang with that person for a night?

Moonraker - My favorite uncle as a child. It's not until you're an adult that you truly realize just how immature he was/is. It's ok though. I still love him.

A View To A Kill - That guy going through the mid life crisis thing. He's just bought a new Porsche and is trying to sleep with women that are half his age.

The Living Daylights - That guy at work who's so overly tense and paranoid that you fear he might snap at any given moment.

Licence To Kill - Run for cover! He just snapped!

GoldenEye - That guy in high school who was so unbelievably cool and popular.

Die Another Day - That guy in high school who was so unbelievably cool and popular is kind of a loser now.

Not Entirely sure but here goes:

Dr No is like the grandfather

On Her Majesty's Secret Service is the girl of your dreams but has a flaw that nitpicks love to hate

Diamonds are Forever is the sleazy brother you never want to see

A View to A Kill is the person going through a midlife crisis

The Living Daylights is the breathless romantic yet holding a dark secret person

Licence to Kill is the person you dont want to piss off

Goldeneye is the childhood best friend- someone awesome and remains awesome

Tommorow Never Dies is the John Barrowman of People- likeable but anoying to some

The World is Not Enough is the underappreciated often overlooked person

Skyfall is the oh look im so clever but im really just a clone of your Ex

I'd use this to describe Skyfall too.

    I like that one.
  • The Spy Who Loved Me - The friend who's gone through a rough patch lately after being a top class athlete or student or professional, and most people believe he's lost his touch. However, he pulls off all his old feats and more and instantly restores his reputation.

Goldeneye - The friend who's disappeared from your life for a time following some absurd fight that you deep down inside know he was in the right on. You run into him sometime later and realize he's doing better than ever.

Quantum of Solace - The friend who discovers some speaker or some new point of view and decides to remake his life in its image, and sometimes goes on tangents that he desperately wishes were deep and insightful, all while talking and gesturing at breakneck speed. Despite this, he still has some of his old charm and some very good ideas buried beneath the madness.

Excellent work, everyone, keep it up! For those of you who are confused, please look at the above examples as I believe all of them are great guidelines.

DAD - is like the guy (or probably more than one guy) you find at your 30th high school reunion:
~ Former cool and best looking guy in school, but been through hell and it shows (life can be torture at times)
~ Singing a new tune that only he thinks is cool & everybody else can't stand (dear Madonna)
~ His double entendre jokes fall like lead balloons, yet he keeps them coming
~ After a decent showing of swordplay (or any physical activity), he sadly doesn't know when to quit
~ He relies on some truly outrageous gadget to promote his youthfulness and daring (like an "invisible" car) - mid life crisis indeed -
~ And he even fakes his video of para-surfing that he shows everyone on his latest I-pad (CGI, anyone?)

Just pat him on the back and send him back to the bar. He was headed there anyway.
The thing is, he doesn't look all that bad, once you get past the rough edges - but he desperately needs a new script.

THUNDERBALL is an old man who is usually funny and full of great stories, but spends most of his time asleep in his chair in front of the TV while it's tuned into the harness racing channel.

TMWTGG is a catty gay man who snipes at people behind their back and goes on mysterious holidays to Thailand to sample the exotic pleasures.

trys to make himself sound really cleaver but incoherantly fails and in the end he is just a moldy piece of bread in a bag full of Wholemeal
