I need to get my mits on this full workprint ASAP. I wish there was some way to go about it, I'd love to see it in its entirety.

  • If you watch carefully, you may see an extra shot of the barrels falling on the guards at the end.

The extra shot of the barrels falling down was from another clip from the workprint I uploaded on youtube a long time ago but I don't have that anymore. I hope this footage stays on youtube because i'm not going to retrieve deleted videos again. This is all I have right now and i'm also busy looking for other Bond movie rarities, such as the gunbarrel for the 1967 Casino Royale version I read about.

Oh... Well then, see you for new content soon!

Would you mind if I downloaded these from YouTube in case they do get taken down?

    No, Robert wouldn't mind. Why?
  • Oh, and I found Robert's old videos on his Google+ account.

No, as long as it's only for preserving.
I have one more clip from the sauna scene with the original dialogue.

Do they contain anything that we've (or at least a majority of us) yet to see?

    Lookup my previous post.
I was just a few seconds too early.

@Gunbarrels007 Yes, it's only for preservation purposes. Many thanks!

In that sauna scene, I've always found it funny (and a little odd) that they had to use a stunt double for the part where Xenia knocks him onto the bench.

I believe Janssen had broken her rib prior to this while filming that scene.

There's an interesting article on this.

I didn't mean Janssen's stunt double, I meant Brosnan's. Why would he need one just to be knocked down on top of a soft bench?

I don't know, but it was Wayne Michaels who doubled for Brosnan as well as at the bungee jump.

The sad thing is that Brosnan doesn't appear at the dam whatsoever, from what I've heard. The entire shot of him running across the dam to get to the jump spot, it was all done by the double. Still, why a double would be used for something as small as being fake hit in the back onto a bench, just to have a woman jump atop you is beyond me.

Then Brosnan must have dubbed over his stunt double with his own breathing.

@jake24, I believe he did. It's obviously him breathing/grunting as he applies the cord he's going to use, but I've heard many times before that some fans were disappointed that he wasn't on set and didn't even film himself running across the dam instead of a double.
  • It'll be second unit stuff, most likely. Since we don't see any of Bond's face until after he is back on land below, there's no need to have Brosnan do all of that stuff.

@GavSalkeld, makes sense, never really thought about it.

Brosnan's son, Christopher (IIRC), doubled for his hands as he cuts his way into the facility; that insert of Pierce's eyes was filmed separately and edited in. The magic of film...

@GavSalkeld, he was also the hand double for the scene where he unveils the dashboard-hidden alcohol and glasses in the DB5, right after the PTS and title themes.

The hands thing is surprising, but stunt (or running) doubles are always obvious to me.

    Here's another clip I reuploaded.
No differences apart from the dialogue sounding a bit clearer and not edited opposed to the final film.

Damn it, I want this workprint now! Might have to take the next best thing and watch GE again today for the 18,000,000th time.

I know. We can always rely on Robert for new content and other Bond rarities.

Whether it includes new/excluded content or not, I've loved that this thread has been bumped almost daily for quite some time now with new/miscellaneous workprint videos. Many thanks to all involved, can't imagine what process you go through in tracking these down. Talk about obscure! I tried something like this one time when I scanned the Internet for any form of Eddie Murphy's 'Pieces Of My Mind' standup from the late 80's; was never successful, aside from some eight minute snippet I found on YT, though a VHS version does exist, apparently.

    Wow! A VHS version?
