I think this is what you are looking for:

Credit goes to @Murdock for posting the link in this thread:

Doing a side by side comparison of this font and the font on the Richard Chopping Goldfinger novel cover art. I can tell you, this is either the same font or a duplicate with a new name.

I think @Perdogg means the font used on the actual print pages inside the Jonathan Cape editions of the James Bond novels.

I am stumped. I don't have the editions, so maybe someone who does have them could tell us if they have a decent knowledge of typefaces. I know the Fleming centenary editions that I have use the Melior font, but I don't know if the Cape prints do as well.

Here's a page from the Cape edition of Casino Royale, but it isn't a big file and hard to really study the typeface properly.

    Yes, @Dragonpol is correct.

It's Cargo Crate on the covers.

Possibly chosen, because of the Universal Export connection.

    Inside? Not sure.

It is not just the Bond books, but the Jonathan Cape Deighton books as well.

I only have OP & TLD and YOLT first eds for Fleming. I'd imagine different fonts were used between 1953-1966. If memory serves, I think that it may tell you on one of the inside pages. I've just checked my OP one, but no mention there. A typesetter could probably tell you at a glance, if you could find one nowadays.

Hmmm, thanks, I am just curious. I will write IFP maybe some one can give a response.

I doubt they'd even know. Sometimes in books it gives you the name of the fonts, but I'm not so sure of long ago. I doubt anyone at IFP would even know. I've written to them before and they're not all that helpful.

@Dragonpol is right. Sometimes the typeface the text is set in will be listed on one of the first inside pages of a novel, but sadly this is not a frequent occurrence, as I have found after examining my own book collection. Though, the Penguin published Fleming centenary novels I have list the typeface, so that is cool.

Michael Gillette's James Bond are typeset in Garamond MT.

I did some analysis and the fonts for the Ian Fleming novels is the "Weiss". The Font for the James Bond Dossier is "Granjon". Len Deighton's Cape novel An Expensive Place to Die is "Times Europa"

There is a font you can download for Royal Quiet Deluxe, which is a lot of fun.

That should have its own thread, unless there is a question thread about the novels.
