    "Total Points" is not sufficient.

    "Points Total" is not sufficient.

It's got to be "Points Total Package".

This looks like spam. What is not sufficient with you?
Gustav was clear in his opening post. It's a trend that seems to be getting out of hand of late. People complaining about a thread that a member has created and clearly provided details on how they would like it to work.
Posting for the sake of posting is spam. As a new member I'd suggest you look over the terms and conditions of the forum @Recipe.

    Actor Performances

    1) Timothy Dalton (8 points)
    2) Daniel Craig (6 points)
    3) Sean Connery (4 points)
    4) George Lazenby (3 points)
    5) Pierce Brosnan (2 points)
    6) Roger Moore (1 point)

For the record I love Brosnan and Moore, Brosnan is actually my 2nd favourite Bond after Dalton.

But both men would grow into the role I think and didn't hit their stride until later on. So since we're doing debut performances only, they're at the bottom.

    Films

    1) The Living Daylights (16 points)
    2) Goldeneye (12 points)
    3) On Her Majesties Secret Service (8 points)
    4) Casino Royale (6 points)
    5) Live And Let Die (4 points)
    6) Dr No (2 points)

Controversial I know but I think DN is too slow paced for it's own good and it's more of a detective thriller than a Bond film imo. I don't think they'd quite nailed the formula yet.

I'm not a huge LALD fan either but at least that has a fantastic theme song, a very fit lead girl and a great set of villains. I prefer Connery to Moore though, personally.

    The Total Package

    1) The Living Daylights (24 points)
    2) Goldeneye (14 points)
    3) Casino Royale (12 points)
    4) OHMSS (11 points)
    5) Dr No (6 points)
    6) Live And Let Die (5 points)

Nice list @TheLivingRoyale :-). You have a weakness for TLD no ;-)?

Interesting idea (but I think the scoring method is weighted too heavily toward the film. With twice the points for wining the film as opposed to actor, whomever wins the film category has a huge jump to win the overall).

    Actor
    8pts - Craig
    6pts - Connery
    4pts - Brosnan
    3pts - Dalton
    2pts - Moore
    1pts - Lazenby

    Film

    16pts - Casino Royale
    12pts - Goldeneye
    8pts - The Living Daylights
    6pts - Dr. No
    4pts - On Her Majesty's Secret Service
2pts - Live and Let Die

I love it. First one I ever saw and it's been one of my favourites ever since :)

I think LTK just edges it though because of Sanchez, pushing it down to no 2 on my list. Still an amazing film though and a brilliant debut for Dalton.

    Yes, I agree.

I'm quite surprised that George Lazenby as an actor is still scoring that low.

I think that this was an interesting idea for a thread @Gustav_Graves and I had fun in participating in it. I also think that you proved that most people think highly of OHMSS and aren't really too keen on Lazenby.

Have you read this interview from Tim Dalton when he saw the premiere of 'Skyfall'?

I remember reading that yeah and I agree with him. SF was great and I think his era did help set the template for what Craig and co are doing now.

Being keener on the others doesn´t automatically mean not being keen on Lazenby.

You're both right :) A far cry from 1969 when people lumped the movie along with George, very negatively of course. Now the positives of the film carry George towards the other end of the spectrum. However it's comparing fool's gold (George) with the real thing (the rest of the movie), it looks good to the amateur rock hound but is of little true value to the professional geologist.

That's why I made this topic. Just......forget for once that Bond actors made a 2nd, 3rd or 4th Bond film. Just....try to think that Every Bond actor only made ONE film only. With that in mind I try to judge the movies, which is quite difficult if you ask me.

I take it by that statement that you don't approve of Roger Moore very much, then?

No, it's not that. I just wonder why Pierce Brosnan is not at last position instead of good ol Roger Moore. Kind of a surprise for me. Is it because classic Bond films, 'Dr. No', 'Live And Let Die' are slowly becoming....too slow for newer, younger fans?
