I do one every year (sometimes more often where I'll tackle one particular actor and rip through just their films) and I thought up a different way to do it this time. I thought I would watch each actor's films, starting with the first ones first, all down the line from Connery to Craig, then the second film, then the third and so on, watching each section all at once in a day. So it would go in this order:
First Film:
Doctor No
On Her Majesty's Secret Service
Live and Let Die
The Living Daylights
Goldeneye
Casino Royale
Second Film:
From Russia With Love
The Man With the Golden Gun
License to Kill
Tomorrow Never Dies
Quantum of Solace
Third Film:
Goldfinger
The Spy Who Loved Me
The World is Not Enough
Skyfall
Fourth Film:
Thunderball
Moonraker
Die Another Day
Fifth Film, et al:
You Only Live Twice
For Your Eyes Only
Diamonds Are Forever
Octopussy
A View to a Kill
I think I'll do the 3rd and 4th days together, not that many films. Listing them this way makes me realize how thin some of the ranks are and how rare it is for a Bond actor to do more than three films, which only Connery, Moore and Brosnan have done. It's funny, right? It seems like there are more films than that but there aren't. Combined, Connery and Moore account for close to 60% of all the movies in the Bond series, just two men alone! That's wild.
Anyway, how are you atching your this year?

I too only watch the films during the year of a new film's release. That way, I feel I enjoy them far more, knowing another one will soon be coming out. Otherwise I think you can easily tire the magic of the series out.
There is a thread for this:

But to answer the question, I usually only start a Bondathon when a new film is a month or two away. Ideally, on the day I go to the cinemas, I will finish watching the Craig films during the day and hit the cinemas that night.
On average I've probably watched 1-2 Bonds a week since I was around 5/6 years old. I've not yet tired of the magic, but I can see why you'd want to freshen up your enthusiasm. I just can't resist given the opportunity.
That's impressive! I sometimes pop one in if the spirit moves me and I'm hankering for a particular film but I always, always do one full watch all the way through per year. I look forward to it and always see something new. What's happened most recently is a better appreciation for Moore, as an actor and as a Bond. He's so happy and having so much fun in the role, and gets better as better as his films go on, that it's always a joy to see.
The opposite has happened with Connery. It's such a shocking drop off after TB. He hates what he's doing, he's so done with everything I almost can't watch YOLT and DAF.
What did you find?
