Indeed. Rogue One is a great movie. Easily the second best Star Wars movie (first being of course The Empire Strikes Back). Of course, there's the small problem with CGI Peter Cushing, but that ending left a tear in my eye.

Peter Cushing did not bother me, I went in blind and had no idea they were going to bring Tarkin back so it was a WT... moment for me and I praised the audacity and suspended my disbelief.

Same here, AND Solo. Only TLJ left me underwhelmed.

A number of my Friends had a lot to complain About RO, which I cannot really comment on, since I´m not much of a SW Geek. But when my sister wanted to watch RO last Christmas, I was pleasantly reminded of what a cool film it is. I had a lot of comments from Critics at the back of my head About how the film would fall apart in ist third act, but couldn´t see any of that actually. It felt like a solid and straight Story from start to finish. Ok the "love Story" felt shoehorned in. And the CG-ed Tarkin was a visual offence IMO, which especially jumped out because the rest of the movie is basically by far one of the best-shot SW movies.

I know RO is up there on the top end of my SW ratings.
I really enjoyed TFA, but RO is an equal as far as I’m concerned when looking at the Disney made films. Certainly a great prequel film in the SW saga.

I didn’t want RO to end when I was in the cinema. That tells you something about the theatre experience I had with that one.

The fact that most complaints about RO were aimed at the CGI jobs done on Tarkin and Leia, speaks volumes about how good the film is.

It felt like a "used world" Star Wars.

The X-wing dog fights were in-cre-di-ble!

It left the lightsabers behind (and yet it didn't).

It ignored the cardinal rule of big Hollywood blockbusters that every film should have a love story and all that jazz. Finally!

It corrected some overlooked mistakes and incomplete ideas from the '77 film.

But most of all, above everything else, it showed us a badass Vader. For the first time, we can actually experience Vader as a frightening creature. Those few seconds present a lifetime of awesomeness.

Kilo Ren agrees with you. But then, he might be biased :

They have to do 4K restorations on the Original Trilogy, I would pay top dollar for that, Star Wars 1977 will look incredible.

I recall Gareth Edwards speaking about a 4K restoration of SW 1977 already done by Lucasfilm.

It better be the original version of the film. The Library of Congress has a copy for sure.

I mean the 1977 version, not the 1997 Special Edition crap.

I’m glad to see Rogue One getting so much love here. It really stands out to me amongst these newer films. I think it’s the only Disney era Star Wars film that truly feels like a Star Wars film.

I agree, let's hope episode 9 feels the same.

Is anyone else extremely uncomfortable with the way Kylo is holding his lightsaber? Or is it just me
