LucasFilm has officially confirmed an Obi Wan Kenobi series with Ewan McGregor will be made for the Disney+ streaming service.

    :x looks fantastic.

Too bad most of us won't be able to see it for quite some time, if ever. Because the time it airs on a channel I can get...

    I am impressed.

The cinematographer on this is Greig Fraser, who worked on Rogue One, and is currently working on Denis Villeneuve's Dune and Matt Reeves' The Batman.

Good choice. Thanks for the info.

@Thunderfinger, that pretty much brings it to the point.

Funny how much Werner Herzog can sound like Jude Law...

But then I read on IMDB that it´s at least 10 episodes, which means it´s much too long, they will run out of decent story and drift around in meaningless side stories.

I don’t even know why Ben Solo gave in to evil. Abrams claims that it is either Snoke’s fault or Han and Leia’s fault for not being perfect parents. Rian Johnson claims that it is Luke Skywalker’s fault. No one wants to blame Ben Solo. And this just disturbing on all levels. Why is it so important that this over-privileged man child who wanted the universe to revolve around him be excused for his actions and avoid any consequences?

Trailer looks good. \:D/ Doesn't look like typical Disney - perhaps the studio is taking a creative risk here and making a more adult version of Star Wars. Has a Rogue One kinda vibe.

There's a possibility the tv material may be stronger than the film material. Strange how things turn out. I think a lot of internet SW fans want ep 9 to be a bit crappy so they can say "see, we told you (Disney) you've ruined Star Wars!" Be careful what you wish for! ;)

I think the prequel movies already ruined Star Wars before Disney. Granted, I think that the new trilogy is as bad as the prequels, but still. You gotta give some credit where it's due.

I wonder if we will get the dual of Fates playing to that confrontation
Final face off on the Death Star, though I have I have seen some other images that suggest that previously.

Yep sounds like Williams will reprise that theme for TRoS.

The Last Jedi really ruined the franchise for me, but im going to make myself go see this movie because I feel like I have to.

I am the same TLJ messed this trilogy up IMO, I will go and see the last film I suspect it will be a whole lot of fan service. I have zero expectations though if Episode IX is fun that is a bonus

Yeah, I really wish they hadn't killed off Luke, or even added Rose. But I'm still a fan at heart.

All the films have there plus points, though TLJ I struggle with more than most. I am a fan of the prequels on the basis they are quite insane, Lucas really went for it in his films. TLJ was wasteful and deliberately trolled and disrespected the mythos of Star Wars under the guise of being subversive, which is unforgivable.

They should have done this as a stand alone movie like they did Solo!

Granted, I didn't like TFA or TLJ that much, but this title is very poor and that poster is soooooo bad, really, it looks like a cartoon.

I did enjoy RO, though, and that Mandalorian trailer is very cool.

I'm sorry, but in a franchise that has posters like this one:
    https://imgix.ranker.com/user_node_img/50076/1001511915/original/the-very-first-_star-war_-poster-photo-u1?w=650&q=50&fm=pjpg&fit=crop&crop=faces
    This new one is awful.

That's like saying DAD's poster is in the same league as FRWL's.

Posters just aren't the same anymore.

Well I have to say DC's Bond posters have been pretty poor with the acception of CR. Everyone has different opinions and tastes.

Personally I prefer the cartoonish posters of the early Bond movies to what we get nowadays. Would make a nice touch if they did one for NTTD?

I agree. And yes, they should do a painted one, old fashion style. The CR teaser was perfect, though. Can't, for the life of me, understand how they don't get it right.

I agree, Jon Favreau, is a decent director, but things happen for a reason I guess. We don't need another director firing! Although I'm happy Colin Trevorrow isn't directing, he hasn't done anything special for me.

With the style CJF has brought as director? I am hoping he has an influence here too? One can only hope! [-O<

I think on the last Pod cast it was mentioned Disney are disappointed with the performance of the 1st 2 movies they have produced in terms of numbers, park attendance …..etc. So TV is possibly a more cost effective option for them?

All of his series and films posters have been interesting in one way or another. Let's hope he and even Linus have something to say about the poster design.

Just saw it. I'm 50/50 on this one after TLJ, which was not my favourite.
However as it's SW I'll give it the benefit of the doubt before judging it.

Something tells me this won't be any good, and that this trilogy will mostly be remembered as a ray of hope gone to hell. There's no improving on the original trilogy. Not with prequels, not with sequels, not with tempering the originals. If they expand collaterally, it will work (RO; The Mandalorian;...). If they continue to expand on the story the originals gave us, I'm afraid we'll only be disappointed. Anyway, nothing I've see so far screams quality to me. But I hope I'm wrong.

@Univex, I like that idea of yours with a ray of hope gone to hell! The only way to redeem this trilogy would be if Rey defeats Kylo Ren and then succumbs to the dark side, becoming the new Darth Vader.
