Nice to see The Phantom Menace get some love.
Yeah I’m sure the fans are gonna love it.

Those morons are going absolutely bonkers. Cinema isn't for Snowflakes and Woke People. Have them hug a tree in a park, dance around a mushroom and rejoice in the inoffensive art of an empty canvas.
If I were to hazard a guess most who complain probably have not watched any of these films. My first thought when I read the article is when will they go after Bond.
It seems very ironic for them to label anyone as 'snowflakes' when they're the ones getting hot under the collar about something which doesn't matter at all.
So Flash is a 12A now. So what?
Don't get your news from the Mail, guys.
As I said, don't get your news from the Mail. No-one 'complained' about Flash Gordon last year, what actually happened was that 27 people complained about the BBFC's podcast in December where they said they would be reclassifying Flash Gordon.
Here's the BBFC's annual report, the relevant section (page 9):
The Daily Mail lie in order to provoke culture wars. You're being manipulated to kneejerk react against this stuff with the keyword 'woke', and as we've seen, it works. It's just like when Phobe Waller Bridge was announced as working on Bond: slip in the word 'woke' and people get activated to complain. It's like brainwashing. The exact opposite happened to what they're reporting here: people complained because they didn't like Flash being given a higher rating. The report is engineered to make you angry, don't fall for it.
If you read the actual report and ignore the Mail trying to lie to you, they changed the classification on precisely zero films due to complaints.
The films have been reclassified by the BBFC, the official British classification board, that's their job. Here's their findings on Flash, for example.
They 'go after' Bond every time a Bond film is released, because they choose the classification. In consultation with the producers, of course.
The Phantom Menace gets way too much hate, agreed, nice to see some appreciation for it.
Films have been being reclassified in later years since the 60s, it's nothing new or strange and there aren't any morons involved (apart from the Daily Mail :D ).
Be careful, people who throw around words like "snowflake" aren't fond of facts.
I also really hated how the second season leaned so hard on trying to present Fett as a badass for fans to cheering for. Not too long ago he was working for a gangster that fed his sex slaves to a rancor monster.
No. Seeing him kill a bunch of stormtroopers isn’t going to suddenly make him cool.
I disagree. Some EU material is actually quite good. Not every attempt at expanding the SW universe should be discarded right away. Everything has to do with taste, of course, but as a SW fan, I can honestly say that I have read some marvellous EU books that could easily compete with some of the film scripts. I have also read a lot of junk, admittedly. ;-)
Is it a bit weird they haven’t done a female-lead series yet? Or have I missed something.
Ahsoka will fill that void. Likely, they're just holding off thanks to all the backlash the Sequels got for having a female lead.
Doesn't it make you sick. How pathetic is this?
What, that people complain about so-called 'woke' stuff at the drop of a hat, even when it's totally made up and utterly misleading, as this is? :D
I agree!
I'm not sure this makes sense. I mean, among the fanbase, Ahsoka is probably the most popular SW character not featured in a film. Female-led Rogue One is well-regarded in the fanbase, including by many who hate the sequel trilogy. Female-led The Force Awakens was well-liked by fans and became the highest-grossing film of all time, largely on the back of repeat viewings by this allegedly misogynistic fanbase.
Many media outlets are happy to give oxygen to creepy, mostly unread YouTube comments and no-name tweeters to offer a divisive misrepresentation of fans to folks who want to be outraged, but these guys are all in the same racket as The Daily Mail.
Once the dust had settled though and the trilogy progressed,it became clear that they didn’t know what they were doing and lost half their audience. It also didn’t take long before people realised that Rey was a Mary Sue character put in to push KKs feminist agenda.
Ashoka Tano is beloved by the majority of SW fans because she’s a ( for the most part ) a well written and developed character.
