    I hope it gets renewed, not long now until the new season premiers, it just occured to me I better renew Disney+ as the Orville airs on there.

    I was really impressed with the Obi Wan Kenobi show. It’s a different beast to Mando and Boba Fett, more mature, slower paced, more weight to the story and characters. I loved it!
    I’ve been a huge fan of the Disney era (episode 9 not withstanding) and this is off to fantastic start!

    Liking Obi-Wan so far .. didn’t expect this plot! It feels more like a film than Mando or Boba, I am sure once all 6 episodes are out there will be a complete edit.

    I rather enjoyed it. Leia kid was fine - I liked her tbh. Macgregor is great as to be expected. The woman inquisitor I don’t have an issue with. She seems a bit one note so far but so did everyone in the prequels.

    But I don’t have a problem with Obi Wan having thought Anakin was dead; considering how he left him, why would he think any different?
    Feels like a Liam Neeson appearance is being set up too.

    I never got the sense that Obi-Wan thought Anakin/Vader was still alive at the end of ROTS. If he and Yoda truly believed that he was dead, they probably would have never sent Luke to Tattooine. As it is, he probably dropped off Luke thinking he may live his whole life on Tattooine, but by ANH he not only knows Vader is still out there but now sees Luke as their only hope.

    We watched it last night and I thought it was good, not great, but definitely looking forward to seeing the rest and making a final judgment later. Ewan McGregor owns this role. He did a great job at portraying a man who is almost at the breaking point. I do have to eat my hat a bit, I suppose. I wrote on here before about not buying that Obi Wan would leave Tattoine, but I have to admit (without spoiling it) that's a pretty good reason.

    A few things that bugged me...
    I didn't know we would be spending so much time with Leia. At first I thought it was neat to check in with her but I really didn't want her to be one of the main characters. I'm getting some TPM vibes and it's not good. That kidnap scene was a bit clunky.

    She did make me laugh a few times so hopefully it'll get better, but it seems like they are opening the door for more continuity errors. I also hate how it always turns out that all these characters knew each other in the past. It makes the galaxy seem so small.

    I know we are still learning more about Reva, but I'm not sure why she is so important that she knows Vader's true identity? Hopefully
    there is a good explanation for this.

    So Obi Wan didn't know Anakin was still alive? I guess I can go with this one because he is not trying to use the force to avoid detection on Tattoine, but still...

    Oh, and a question for everyone...
    Did anyone else expect to see Grogu in the Jedi Temple flashback? It could still happen. Would you be okay if they explained who saved him in this series or would you rather it remained unconnected to the Mandalorian?

    Obi Wan Kenobi Episode 3 is an improvement mainly because its more visually interesting. The dialogue and score are not particularly good, Obi Wan has some good moments, overall I think this should have been executed far better than what we are getting.
    Vader could have easily dragged Obi Wan's body over the fire using the Force when the Robot carries Obi Wan away. The face off was a bit underwhelming.

    Never has Star Wars felt more like horror. I was genuinely scared for that last 10-15 minutes. Obi-Wan continues to be one of my favourite things in Disney Star Wars.

    Finally sat down for OWK. Apart from @Fire_and_Ice_Returns' more than fair objections to some of the writing, I must admit that I had a great time with the show overall and I can't wait for part 2 to be released.

    I am glad you enjoyed it, I just think it's so poorly written and poorly directed which completely takes me out. Book of Boba... was poor for several episodes and then pulled a few great episodes out of nowhere so the show may still deliver something I might like.

    I regret the lack of musical nods to the films. The show Rebels borrowed heavily from those scores, and while that may sound cheap, it also makes one feel right at home so to speak.

    The Vader scenes in the third episode were so good. I was quite shocked by the level of violence explicitly shown, also. Star Wars is somehow a series that has galactic wars, mass genocide, people being cut in half with lightsabers etc. yet this was the first time I'd ever stopped and thought that it was not quite suitable for kids. The violence was always either brief, played for laughs or implied, but Vader in that village......sheeeesh.

    I have to say that I'm very impressed with the way they handled Vader thus far. I'm (admittedly) quite prone to nitpicking, but this just feels like the Vader from the OT in a way that RO didn't. Something was just off there. From his precise movements to James Earl Jones bringing his A game this time, I feel like this is finally bridging the gap between Hayden Christensen and David Prowse. Even though this (OWK) series has had its flaws so far, I do believe that Deborah Chow is trying to honor and respect these characters. Here's hoping for a great conclusion.

    Absolutely; my 10 year old nephew is quite squeamish when it comes to screen violence but had no trouble with this at all. I don't think Vader really even did anything that bad did he?

    The beauty of Light Sabers, lazers and blasters they cauterize wounds a good way to get around not showing blood.

    True, but the only thing they can do is chop bits off! :)

    Any sort of police force who carry weapons which can only maim or kill are a very sinister police force indeed!

    True I was just commenting on a way round censorship not showing gore and blood. Lucas having the creative decision of droids especially in TPM was no doubt a way to create situations for Jedi to use there light sabres alot.

    Only nitpick I have is that Vader is wearing the suit for TESB/ROTJ, rather than the suit from the original film that had less sheen and a robe going over his armor. ROTS made the same mistake too at the end.

    I'd say snapping a pre-teen's neck is pretty bad.
