He certainly did. I remember sitting in the theatre watching Rogue One & realizing this was the best Star Wars film in 33 frikin' years! Andor is a slow burn to show where all that mess came from just before the Death Star was finished...
I'll definitely watch it, who knows, it might be as good as season one! I just don't see how they can top it, though.
It was fun though the show has jumped the shark.
Not all have been something I'd eagerly watch a 2nd or 3rd time...
Ambitious storytelling has replaced the smaller, more intimate Mando first two seasons.
And, it will all lead, of course, into the recent trilogy which in my view, jumped the Sarlacc.
I recently heard that's the end game leading Star Wars shows into the Sequels, even though the Sequels are pap its the logical thing to do.
Episode 6 did remind me of Jonathan Swifts Gullivers Travels and Douglas Adams Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy briefly, so I guess that's something.
Two of the star cameos made me smile.
That seems to be Dave Filoni’s specialty. His approach is about enriching what’s already there in canon as opposed to ignoring it. He did it for the prequels with THE CLONE WARS, and is now focusing on that era between OT and ST where we see why the New Republic was doomed.
Yes, same here. I'm not convinced that Christopher Lloyd is terribly good, and generally feels like he's miscast in everything (except BTTF and Taxi). Quite funny to see him dressed as Rimmer.
I quite like the angle its taking of the New Republic turning into the First Order, but it does mean that the Star Wars galaxy is a depressing place to visit no matter which era. It's constantly seeing authoritarian regimes rise to power culminating in violent wars: it's pretty horrible. Even in the prequels there was a disturbing semi-religious untouchable police force who had the power of mind control and used weapons to slice peoples' arms off.
I liked seeing him though it stood out like a sore thumb, I will just try to enjoy the Bo-Katan show from now on though I can't take it very seriously.
Funnily, Disney made me like Star Wars again, after the travesty that was the prequels. It hasn’t been perfect. I only liked two of the films they produced, (TFA & TLJ), but at least I get something out of it for the most part.

Yes I enjoyed TFA ten times more than the prequels. Rebels was good too and I think Mandalorian is loads of fun.
I kinda like Phantom Menace, not caring too much for Attack Of The Clones, but I really REALLY like Revenge Of The Sith. I even liked Solo.
I guess it's just that I feel like I have no interest in seeing it all happen again after the Empire was defeated. Like mtm said, that makes it a messed up place all the time, with a constant state of war. I enjoy thinking that once the Empire was gone, there's a happy ending for those characters. Let the next generations deal with new rises of fascist creeps....
Honestly I think they are wise to expand the story. The original format was great for season one, but the side quests get stale quickly when you get to season three especially.
I think a good dramatic point of the sequels could have gone this route: Taking down the Empire and bringing back peace is one thing, but suddenly there’s the challenge of trying to maintain that peace because it needs to constantly be worked on.
That’s what MANDO seems to be getting into for part of its run. We know the First Order will rise down the line, but what makes that happen or at least allows it to grow? The bureaucracy of the New Republic, for one. A lot of well meaning people in it, but it feels like everyone is too tired after the war to put in effort. You have well meaning former imperial citizens who genuinely want to do good, but feel neglected by their new employers. Sending to therapy with a droid who can’t understand the nuances of humanity enough to recognize someone in pain, or recognize a wolf in sheep clothing.
While I actually like TFA, I wish it did better world building. It was way too concerned with rushing straight back to the Empire vs Rebels dynamic. “Just have a new Death Star blow up the new capital, and BOOM!!! it’s the OT all over again!”
It’s pretty lazy. Another reason I really like TLJ is because it actually tries to shed light into those missing years in between trilogies. It’s only concerning Kylo Ren. I would have liked to have had more context regarding the rise of the First Order, but I’ll take the Kylo Ren stuff because Adam Driver is a compelling actor doing so much heavy lifting. I like that Luke’s failure is partly because he got caught up in his own hype and has been kicking himself over his arrogance. Like the New Republic, he didn’t keep his eye on the ball and it blew up in his face in a way that made him feel like he was more a danger to the galaxy than the legendary hero people hype up.
And then JJ got invited back and was like “lol, I don’t get what Johnson was trying to do cause I’m too stupid, but here’s my remake of ROTJ!!!”
I hope they actually keep these movies. I’m still disappointed that Patty Jenkins’ Rogue Squadron got cancelled. Same to a lesser degree, Taika Waititi could have been interesting. I knew Daisy Ridley would come back as Rey. I hope Mark Hamill comes back as Luke. Same for Billy Dee Williams or Donald Glover as Lando. Keep JJ Abrams away!
