  • Oh yeah, drugs all the way!
A funny 'shower thought' I read:
Han Solo doesn't seem so great when you realize who his real-world analog would be: A trucker doing cross-border smuggling for drug cartels, who shot a guy in a bar.

Well there is the backstory with how he got the falcon beating Lando at a game of cards. Cantina Royale anyone? ;)

Meanwhile, in "Star Wars : Rebels" :

Not the first time people from Doctor Who have appeared in Star Wars (and vice-versa), but after Peter Cushing, Tom Baker seems to be the most famous.

Due to scheduling conflicts. Alexandre Desplat will not be scoring Rogue One and is now being scored by Michael Giacchino.

Allexandre Desplat is now being scored by Michael Giacchino? Hollywood is so lewd.

I wonder how much Desplat had already scored, if any. It´s a pity Desplat departed the film, I would have liked very much to hear a SW score by him. But I´m not really worried either, as long as it´s Giacchino, and he should have enough time theoretically to score the whole film.

  • Interesting watch.

I can't wait for this one @DaltonCraig007. It will probably be the darkest take on the SW universe since Empire Strikes Back.

Loving the poster, still easily my most awaited blockbuster of 2016.

I think rogue one will suck - Just a feeling I have. Based on the trailers It doesn't seem to have any identity of its own. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a truly unique vision that was tampered with to align more with the other films being released. When the idea was first floated, I thought it would be about a crew who were defiant in the face of overwhelming evil. I don't get any of that from the trailer.

I don't share any of that, I've taken from the Trailers that the vision that was originally proposed lives on.

Some of the negativity that this films has produced is amazed me, it seems people are determined to put a downer on it.

I get from the trailer the vibe this could be the best Star Wars film since ROTJ or even TESB.

I enjoyed TFA but can't deny it wasn't flawed but Rogue One has me on a very positive vibe.

Maybe if they'd cast Aidan Turner you might have felt different?

I'm very curious about Rogue One. Like @Mendes4Lyfe it's been hard for me to shake a feeling of doubt about it since all the news of its production chaos were floating around.

I'm not a big Star Wars fan (haven't even seen TFA yet), but saw my name was mentioned here and thought I'd weigh in. If Rogue One is a success, it'll be down to its unique cast of characters, who all hopefully feel unique and interesting.

At the very least I hope it succeeds so all you SW nuts are happy. ;)

My take on Rogue One it's a totally unnecessary film, saying that I think it looks good based on the trailer though based on its position in the Star Wars time line it will be a vulnerable film to critics.

Maybe it's how the trailer has been edited, though the acting falls a bit flat.... Though Vader <:-P
  • Damn, I hope we didn't just witness Forest Whitaker's death scene....

Wish I had not watched this, I think when you get to final trailers we have seen too much of the film already.... I never learn [-(

I hope not as well, but if you followed the character from The Clone Wars, it would be very fitting and tragic.

This is what the cinema is all about. As a 50 something old git who spends most of his time moaning, that trailer just makes you smile and fill with excitement. Yes, it could be tripe, we know that but I cant help but get excited.
I felt the same with the SP (OHMSS) trailer so I should have learned my lesson.....but I will be in the front of the queue

I'm truly confused about what "lesson" needs to be learned? Technically this movie's been spoiled since 1977. We know their mission will succeed, we just don't know how many of them (if any) will survive it, and none of these trailers have even hinted at that.

I hate to say it, but I'm still not really impressed by this trailer. And I had really hoped I would be.

"We know their mission will succeed" - there are many great movies out there where we know the ending (Apollo 13, Rush, ) but a good script and direction will still bring drama plus series like Bond where we just know certain outcomes are impossible ("Bond dies? OMG") but we should still have drama and tension.
I was a massive Star Trek fan but the new movies IMHO are a million miles away from the originals but these new SW efforts seem to really want to keep the look and feel of the originals - finders crossed.

Outstanding. I'm really pumped for this now. There's a real sense of foreboding to it.

The only thing I'm not sold on yet is Felicity Jones. She didn't impress me in the Inferno trailer and she is not doing it for me here either. There's something a bit impish about her, and I would have preferred someone with a bit more screen gravitas. Anyway, we'll see.

Vader is the money shot of course and if that's Giacchino's work in this trailer, then we're in for a sonic treat.

I wasn't going to mention the music but....wow! (yes, I know, it's just a trailer)
