I've got TLD at #13 and LTK at #9 right now. I always have preferred LTK, but they got a little closer to each other in my last watches. Both are pretty good Bond films IMO; not quite the best, but better than many others.

I wont comment on TLD but LTK is #8 I think on my list.

I can't argue with anything in that top 10 except for AVTAK. What makes that such a liked film for you @GetCarter?

It oscillates a fair bit, bondjames.

I must admit it's less a case of impartial assessment and more an illogical love of Walken, the music (both Duran Duran and Barry) and the entire first half.

I can take or leave the fire sequence though. A real shame :)

@GetCarter, thanks for clarifying. Walken & the score are indeed definite highlights and now that you mention it, I agree that the first half isn't bad.

I must give it a rewatch soon on account of ongoing discussion on various threads here lately. It's one of the films I hardly get to except in occasional Bondathons.

You keep it in 10th pal,its a good film,i have it in #16th which is good for this film and the way it gets slated.

Stacey Sutton is my least favorite Bond girl. The PTS is also probably my least favorite in the series. And Moore is too old. But, beyond that, there is a lot for me to enjoy still - Moore's actual performance is good, Max Zorin is one of the best villains of the series, many of the scenes are pretty entertaining and fun, the climax is really strong, etc. I still keep it in the lower half of my rankings, but it has a lot of redeeming factors that have propelled it above other ones in the series for me.

I also think I am undergoing increased respect and affection for RM for obvious reasons.

Anyone who doesn t put GE in their top ten is at least partially sane.

I just find GE a bit clunky these days. and that score, it's horrible.

no, the only Brosnan I have much time for is TWINE, even though it ranks poorly. if i squint, I can see what they were trying to do. and its a little bit glorious.

And its nice to see DAD in its proper place. A little too much tolerance for it around here for my liking lately!

Right? I cannot get behind the sudden reappraisal at all. Just watched it, and pretty much the usual thing for me. Some decent stuff in the first half then a total trainwreck in the second half. Currently neck-and-neck with MR as my least favorites.

For me the climax aboard the plane makes DAD my least favorite entry. I like everything thru the Ice Palace, but the Jinx/Miranda and Bond/Graves fights are pretty lame. Belonging in another franchise from the early 2000's. Very un-Bond to me.

Totally agree! I dont get this "first half is ok" lark! Bond in a silly wig and beard stopping his own heartbeat, walking through a hotel in pyjamas, yawnsome scenes in Cuba (with an embarrassingly bad Halle Berry),Madonna cameo (as bad as her theme song) dopey sword fight,....and then it goes downhill!!!

Collectively it's still meh, but the first half has moments that are alright (pts, sword fight), as opposed to a second half that is five times weaker IMO. It basically just kees getting weaker and weaker as it goes along. I feel the same way about MR.

I think DAD is one of the worst bond films, however, its so bad that its fairly entertaining

    Thanks @QQ7.

I realized this time around that I personally rank the last outings for all long serving actors rather poorly, with only Laz & Dalts (who hardly had time to settle into the role) getting a good showing. That doesn't bode well for B25 although I hope for the best.

Conversely, apart from Dalton, I have all their first outings in the top 10. There's something to be said for youthful vigor when playing Bond imho. It was clear to me in recent viewings of FRWL/GE.

Really nice ranking! Switch out OP with GF and your favorite 12 would be the same as mine (out of order of course)!
