Nice that AVTAK seems to have climbed a bit in your ranking. I remember it always being closer to the bottom of your ranking.

    THE PERENIAL FAVORITES
    GOLDFINGER

    ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE
    CASINO ROYALE

    SO CLOSE
    DR. NO
    THE SPY WHO LOVED ME

GREAT BOND FILMS (with minor, but undeniable, problems)
    THUNDERBALL
    YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE
    SKYFALL
    QUANTUM OF SOLACE
    GOLDENEYE

INCONSISTENT (but I still love them and am willing to over look quite a lot)
    FOR YOUR EYES ONLY
    LICENCE TO KILL
    DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER

DEPENDS (they all contain scenes and/or performances that are top tier Bond, but there is plenty I find myself struggling through sometimes, as well)
    THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS
    A VIEW TO A KILL
    DIE ANOTHER DAY
    NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN
    OCTOPUSSY
    THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH

Another great top 10. QoS is one of the few where I would disagree with you (I have it much lower and it's dropping with time). I may be joining you with your lowest entry soon. My recent viewing of TWINE didn't go well, but I think I've been a bit too critical of it over the years and may move it from the floor soon.

Thanks. Throughout the many years of watching these films, the top 10 in my list are the ones I've enjoyed watching the most. The only difference with my ranking is "For Your Eyes Only" used to be ranked in my top 10 until the release of Skyfall in 2012, and then it knocked down a little bit to number 11.

I like the fact that you have all the actors in there. I do too and it's not like I planned it (and I'm sure you didn't either). Nice variety between the stripped down thriller types and the more extravagant productions too. I think the only one I don't have in my top 10 which you do is GF (I have LALD in there instead). GF is one I used to love but it's gone out of favour with me lately (although slowly rebuilding positive momentum with each viewing).

lol To each their own. I can't even imagine not liking Goldfinger, but I can see why people wouldn't have it ranked high. Live and Let Die is my third favorite Moore film, and it would be ranked higher if it were not for the noticeable lame Kananga death. It's even worse after you read the novel and you realize the missed opportunities they had with the film.

@W_Glass_90, I know, right? I've been a bit embarrassed to be one of the few to not like GF. It really comes down to Kentucky, where it all sort of slows down. There's been quite a bit of debate about it on these threads as there are a few other members who have issues with it too. I'm also not too keen on Connery in this one (another outlier opinion). He looks great but acts a bit 'goofy' (for lack of a better word) in places compared to how I view his more lethal self in the Young trilogy. I've not read the LALD novel but agree on the hilariousness of the Kananga movie death spoiling the ending. All three of Hamilton's later films have less than stellar villain conclusions imho.

Yeah, Kentucky is the slow portion of the film which is mainly done to build up towards operation grandslam and develop the relationship more between Bond and Pussy Galore. Probably the best part of the Kentucky scenes is when Bond escapes his cell which is a classic Bond moment. One thing I will say, Connery's delivery of "Bond, James Bond" to Jill Masterson was weaker than his introduction in Dr. No which will never be topped in my opinion. The Live and Let Die novel is borderline racist (even more so than the film), which is no surprise given the period it was written, but it's a great read. I prefer Young as a director over Hamilton. Makes me wonder sometimes how different Goldfinger would be if he returned.

My favorite part of this ranking might be DN above FRWL; refreshing to see I'm not the only one who has it that way! Also just seeing FRWL outside the top 5, but still in the top 10. I like it a lot, but it is personally more in the 6-10 range than the 1-5 for me.

I wanted to place OHMSS in the top five so FRWL was the sacrifice. I also raised LALD quite a bit and MR.

If you moved CR in front of OP, we'd have fve some top right (different order).

I ended up raising SF just above CR. I love them both, though. OP is ranked high for me since it was the first one my folks bought on VHS when I was a kid.

In a way I hate putting his films so low, since my rankings are mostly nostalgia. I've got some great memories catching the Pierce films opening night. I'll probably raise GE again once I've re watched it. If only Pierce had done one or two more.............

Nice top 10. I noticed the changes in where you ranked a few films and for the most part like the changes. I'm surprised to see QoS and SF so close however, and it would have been nice to see GE higher (I put it above the two Craig entries). There's only room for so many in a top 10 though, and it's always a tough choice with Bond films because there are so many great ones.

@Birdleson With my two favourite Bond actors nowhere near your top 10, I can't say I agree much. Though I do like the re-evaluation of TMWTGG and the respect the 60's films get. And at least we have the same film at the bottom spot.

I didn't realize that @Birdleson . I always thought you had TMWTGG a bit higher. I'm also a bit surprised about AVTAK being that high, particularly in comparison to OP. Presumably you are fan of Walken's Zorin?

@barryt007, nice top 10. The only one where we differ is QoS, which I have far lower. It's good to see someone else place GF a little lower (we're both in the minority on that).

I'm shocked to see the abysmal Quantum of Sowhat so high in these rankings, ha ha ha....

I find it fascinating how differently the films are perceived. There seem to be only a few films that are almost always up there.

Very happy that OHMSS belongs to that category!

QOS is my go to Bond film when im pushed for time, just like DAD & TND are ones I always go to when i'm pissed as a fart,Andi .(Which is often he he ).

As for OHMSS,it is always a three-way battle for #1 spot with FRWL & CR .
No other films enter my top 3 ,just these ones, battling and swapping around all the time haha.

I have no idea how someone can enjoy QoS. The biggest praise I can make is that it is mercifully short, but that's about it. The Opera scene is good, sans the artsy crosscutting.

Craig's performance, the bullet like pace, Arnold's best score, the cinematography, and the overall badassery are a few ways I enjoy it. Lol we all got an opinion.
