If these recent rumors are true, B25 will probably end up at #24, only beating SP because there will likely be much more color to it.

You guys are nuts. The movie is a year and a half away.

If Bond 25 is around 2 hrs, colourful, and not edited into oblivion like Quantum, it should make it out of the bottom 5.

I know, what are they thinking? It’s obviously a Top 3 Bond film :P

I have a lot more positivity than negativity right now for Bond 25. There isn’t a lot of reason, but I just have a feeling - lame as it sounds.

This is obscene, the film is barely in production

Outside of my relatively high placement of TWINE and relatively low placement of DN - nothing TOO far out of the general consensus here.

It boggles my mind that there are humans that exist that do not absolutely love Thunderball. What is wrong with humanity?

Those 3 placements are pretty unusual. DN is excellent.

Thunderball is not terribly interesting as a whole, but it has the funniest script in the whole series:
"I know a little about women"
    "Bond James Bond who only..."
"Wait til you get to my teeth"
    "Sounds terribly difficult"
"Mind if my friend sits this one out..."
    "See you later, irrigator"
    etc

I agree, @w2bond, that TB is not terribly interesting. The plot is much too simple to be engaging. I suppose the grandeur of TB comes from the tropical locations, the Bond-mania that drove the film to be "big," and, as you mentioned, the script. TB is surely well written! If it were on the budget of DN, I can't imagine it would have made nearly the level of impact it did or does now.

I'm sure B25 will eventually make it's way up. I just hope it ends up being a classic.

Bond 25 is a lot better than the Brosnan films. Great pts and I love the title sequence. It s a top ten, but I can understand why some of you hated it.

Bond 25 is the best and last Bond. Obvious.

Bonds 25 - 30 are all tied #1 at the moment. After that things get hazy. Might even have to wait till tomorrow to rank Bonds 31 through REVENGE OF MRS BELL.

I'm still waiting for The Return of J.W. Pepper:Doomsday Machine. Sounds like it could be a masterpiece.

TB is exactly what Bond is supposed to be. Terrorist organization wants to hold the world hostage. Insert Bond. The plot is a lot simpler than say, OP or TLD.

A few minor changes based on recent viewings. I usually have TLD ahead of LTK but they are interchangeable as I love them both...and am on a LTK buzz lately having watched it a few times and loving it more each time!

OP and TLD are FAR superior to DAF.
Bleh. DAF is a weak entry in most ways to me. Same with TMWTGG.
  • edited May 2018 Posts: 684
I don't want to speak for anyone else, as I completely understand why DAF might end up so low, but it shot up in my own rankings when I started looking at it as a unique, one-off take on the series and stopped looking at it as a failed attempt at one of the more fantastical entries we tend to get from time to time. It's been moving up for a while and is now in the top ten for me.

It's a blast. Such a rewatchable film. And perhaps the best dialogue in the series. TB is its only competition. Maybe LALD.
I'm a pretty big fan of DAF myself and tend to wonder why it ends up in the lower middle half of my rankings.

Exactly! Difficult when one loves all the films (even DAD).

Great to see the Laz and Dalts film on top there @Mathis1.

I’d have GE a bit higher though ;)

Thanks. If i only had 3 Bond movies OHMSS TLD and LTK would keep me happy.
Can't share your love for GE, I don't buy into it's classic status by some on here. Tedious film, imho.
