I like it.
My list is pretty much calibrated by how much I enjoy the movies and subjectively how good I think they are. Again, I need to watch them all again. Last time was 2012. I didn't have time running up to SP. Objective quality in art is impossible.
1. On Her Majesty's Secret Service
2. Live and Let Die
3. License to Kill
4. Skyfall
5. Thunderball
6. Octopussy
7. Dr. No
8. The Living Daylights
9. Casino Royale
10. From Russia with Love
11. Quantum of Solace
12. The Spy who Loved Me
13. For Your Eyes Only

19. The Man with the Golden Gun
20. A View to a Kill
21. Tomorrow Never Dies
22. Moonraker
23. You Only Live Twice
24. Die Another Day
*Disclaimer: My list is what I find most enjoyable to least enjoyable, not by actual quality of the movie.
CR, GE, and TWINE would be way higher if I didn't hate the main Bond girl.
Interestingly, it wouldn't make a difference to me with LTK or QoS, which probably means I must really think highly of those two.........never thought about that before now.

Including other Bond forums we have 70 ranks, the tiers are exactly the same as pre-Spectre, except DAF is higher

But you do know that....from the gunbarrel sequence until the blow-up of Blofeld's lair...the film is 132 mins no?
Also, though not the best sequence, I did like the way Blofeld turned the old MI6-building into a version of Scaramanga's Fun House. It is very Bond-esque to me....
I think I agree in parts with you. But for me it were the entire London-based sequences. At times it felt like they tried too hard to incorporate a 2nd storyline, set in London, with a "Mission: Impossible"-esque MI6-team, played by marvellous actors.
I think it does help that next time, for Bond 25, the roles of Moneypenny and 'M' will be much smaller. It would have helped as well if Denbigh wasn't straight away an obvious bureaucratic mole. Instead one could have introduced a real 009 to us, who was secretly working for S.P.E.C.T.R.E.
That must have been very early on...but thank god they got rid of that...I like Fiennes as M.
That's a good idea, something they haven't done properly (apart from GE PTS...TLD doesn't really count as it's just a training exercise). I can see the cliches/hurdles here...the ally will have to die (Bond has to save the day), and he/she will have to play a much smaller role otherwise it won't be a 007 movie....maybe that's why they haven't done it.
True, but like a lot of minor characters (Hinx included??) their roles and names aren't revealed.
I agree with that wholeheartedly. Personally, I think I prefer big actor's in such roles. But at the same time I think the producers and screenplaywriters need to make clear from the start that their roles can't be too big.
Let "Mission: Impossible" do this team-approach. But I also think it's about time Moneypenny gets handcuffed behind her desk. The same for 'M'.
I'm fairly convinced Barbara and Michael will start to address this when pre-production of Bond 25 starts. We know London exists now. Time to give it only some small cameo's, like in "Casino Royale".
One thing though, I think "SPECTRE" was the first Bond film with Daniel Craig that was much more about a plain, solid mission for agent 007. It reminded me a lot of the rather rogue mission 007 had in "OHMSS". Also there it turned out that the initial person, Balthazar de Bleuchamp/Franz Oberhauser (via Marc-Ange Draco/Gebrüder Gumbold/Lucia Sciarra/Mr White) in fact was......Blofeld.
