    Interesting @Aziz_Fekkesh. I was basing mine off (what is hopefully) objective quality, since my list for subjective likes/dislikes would mostly be based on entertainment and we'd have a much more different list.

    My list is pretty much calibrated by how much I enjoy the movies and subjectively how good I think they are. Again, I need to watch them all again. Last time was 2012. I didn't have time running up to SP. Objective quality in art is impossible.
  • May as well give this a go.

    1. On Her Majesty's Secret Service
    2. Live and Let Die
    3. License to Kill
    4. Skyfall
    5. Thunderball
    6. Octopussy
    7. Dr. No
    8. The Living Daylights
    9. Casino Royale
    10. From Russia with Love
    11. Quantum of Solace
    12. The Spy who Loved Me
    13. For Your Eyes Only
    14. Goldfinger
    15. Spectre
    16. Goldeneye
    17. The World is Not Enough
    18. Diamonds are Forever
    19. The Man with the Golden Gun
    20. A View to a Kill
    21. Tomorrow Never Dies
    22. Moonraker
    23. You Only Live Twice
    24. Die Another Day

    *Disclaimer: My list is what I find most enjoyable to least enjoyable, not by actual quality of the movie.
    CR, GE, and TWINE would be way higher if I didn't hate the main Bond girl.

    It can have a subjective effect no doubt. As an example, CR & GE are two of my personal favourites, and I can't get enough of the Bond babe in both cases (unlike you). Conversely, TND could probably rank higher for me if I liked the Bond girls more. Same with TLD.

    Interestingly, it wouldn't make a difference to me with LTK or QoS, which probably means I must really think highly of those two.........never thought about that before now.

    Here's my recent Bondathon ranking with Spectre included...still not totally decided on its place but it won't be higher than LTK which I've decided is the "hard to crack" mark (1-13 + AVTAK I really enjoy). The top 5 are almost impenetrable.

    1. The Living Daylights
    2. Octopussy
    3. Casino Royale
    4. From Russia with Love
    5. On Her Majesty's Secret Service
    6. Goldeneye

    7. For Your Eyes Only
    8. The Spy Who Loved Me
    9. Tomorrow Never Dies
    10. Dr No
    11. Moonraker
    12. Diamonds Are Forever
    13. Licence to Kill

    14. You Only Live Twice
    15. A View To A Kill
    16. Goldfinger
    17. Spectre

    18. The Man with the Golden Gun
    19. Die Another Day
    20. Thunderball
    21. Skyfall

    22. Live and Let Die
    23. The World is Not Enough
    24. Quantum of Solace

    After watching Spectre, my opnion on QOS has improved but not enough to keep it from the bottom...yet

    119 include FRWL and GF

    74 include DN, FRWL, GF

    20 include DN-GF, YOLT

    4 include DN-DAF

    Craig top 10
    130 include CR, SF
    31 include CR-SF

    Top 2

    Excellent work, @w2Bond. Look forward to more number crunching down the line.

    7-Goldeneye
    8-Octopussy

    Saw Spectre again on Sunday for the second time. The film can be divided into three sections. First hour: great, next 40 minutes: good, last 20 minutes: more like a playstation game (main objectives: rescue Madeleine and destroy helicopter).

    Also, the car chase was better than I remembered but the music gag made me wince.

    I'm surprised so many fans rate the 3rd half, especially the entire Morocco sequence (l'Américain, train/fight sequence, Blofeld's lair, Blofeld's meteroid, torture sequence, lair destruction), so low. For me it was a highlight. Especially after the Austria sequence.

    Here is my updated list once again as of November 16th 2015:

    Masterpieces!!!:
    01 --> 9.5/10 --> 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service'
    02 --> 9.3/10 --> 'From Russia With Love'
    03 --> 9.0/10 --> 'Skyfall'
    04 --> 8.8/10 --> 'Casino Royale'
    05 --> 8.3/10 --> 'Thunderball'
    06 --> 8.0/10 --> 'Doctor No'

    Good films!:
    07 --> 7.7/10 --> 'SPECTRE' (NEW !!)
    08 --> 7.4/10 --> 'Octopussy'
    09 --> 7.4/10 --> 'For Your Eyes Only'
    10 --> 7.3/10 --> 'The Living Daylights'
    11 --> 7.1/10 --> 'Goldfinger'
    12 --> 7.0/10 --> 'Licence To Kill'

    Average films:
    13 --> 6.7/10 --> 'The World Is Not Enough'
    14 --> 6.5/10 --> 'The Man With The Golden Gun'
    15 --> 6.3/10 --> 'Quantum Of Solace'
    16 --> 6.1/10 --> 'The Spy Who Loved Me'
    17 --> 6.0/10 --> 'Diamonds Are Forever'
    18 --> 5.8/10 --> 'Moonraker'

    Fun stuff for us Bond fans, but as a standalone film bad and sometimes even stomach-turning!:
    19 --> 5.6/10 --> 'Live And Let Die'
    20 --> 5.5/10 --> 'Never Say Never Again' (non-EON)
    21 --> 4.8/10 --> 'Tomorrow Never Dies'
    22 --> 4.5/10 --> 'You Only Live Twice'
    23 --> 4.2/10 --> 'GoldenEye'
    24 --> 3.4/10 --> 'A View To A Kill'
    25 --> 2.8/10 --> 'Die Another Day'
    26 --> 1.2/10 --> 'Casino Royale' (non-EON)

    everything from the beginning of the film through Bond's escape of Blofeld's lair was perfectly fine for me - it's the last part in London that felt - tacked on - unnecessary - poorly written - not fully developed..

    But you do know that....from the gunbarrel sequence until the blow-up of Blofeld's lair...the film is 132 mins no?

    Also, though not the best sequence, I did like the way Blofeld turned the old MI6-building into a version of Scaramanga's Fun House. It is very Bond-esque to me....

    but there is an old saying in film - that it's not how you start, but how you finish.. and 99% of the time, an audience can forgive a terrible or slow start to a film if it finishes really strong - because that's their last impression of the film as they leave the theater...... i still really liked the movie - don't get me wrong on that.... but i would be lying if i said that the London bits at the end underwhelmed me - it felt halfcocked and not fully developed... i think the film deserved a stronger ending - but, i can live with what we got.. it's not like it ruined the whole thing for me.. far from it.

    I think I agree in parts with you. But for me it were the entire London-based sequences. At times it felt like they tried too hard to incorporate a 2nd storyline, set in London, with a "Mission: Impossible"-esque MI6-team, played by marvellous actors.

    I think it does help that next time, for Bond 25, the roles of Moneypenny and 'M' will be much smaller. It would have helped as well if Denbigh wasn't straight away an obvious bureaucratic mole. Instead one could have introduced a real 009 to us, who was secretly working for S.P.E.C.T.R.E.

    That must have been very early on...but thank god they got rid of that...I like Fiennes as M.

    That's a good idea, something they haven't done properly (apart from GE PTS...TLD doesn't really count as it's just a training exercise). I can see the cliches/hurdles here...the ally will have to die (Bond has to save the day), and he/she will have to play a much smaller role otherwise it won't be a 007 movie....maybe that's why they haven't done it.

    the closest we got to that recently was Ronson in the PTS of SF... perhaps he could've been one of those ill-fated 00's, just not addressed by his number.

    True, but like a lot of minor characters (Hinx included??) their roles and names aren't revealed.

    Plots usually always have a subplot - but i feel in SP like there are two different plot lines jockeying for position, that at times, makes the film feel unbalanced..

    Denbigh feels so tacked on - because he originally wasn't apart of the story... one of the twists Logan had wrote very early on, was that Mallory was secretly the traitor, and was going to turn out to be a bad guy connected to Spectre in this film - but Fiennes insisted that he was done with villain roles... so they wrote a completely new character - Denbigh..

    right now, EON and the writers have gotten themselves into the habit of "trying to find something for everyone to do.".. it's not enough for M to simply be Bond's boss and give him his mission, or for Moneypenny to be Secretary - they all have to play a role in helping 007 defeat the baddies.. as you put it, they are Team MI6.. and i think part of this problem (not the whole problem, but part of it) is casting prominent names in the roles - it's like they feel they need to get their money's worth out of them, so they extend their roles more in each passing film... i personally don't know if we will ever see a return to where M, Q, and Moneypenny share a combined 10 minutes of screen time.. i personally feel those days are long, and Team MI6 are here to stay...

    I agree with that wholeheartedly. Personally, I think I prefer big actor's in such roles. But at the same time I think the producers and screenplaywriters need to make clear from the start that their roles can't be too big.

    Let "Mission: Impossible" do this team-approach. But I also think it's about time Moneypenny gets handcuffed behind her desk. The same for 'M'.

    I'm fairly convinced Barbara and Michael will start to address this when pre-production of Bond 25 starts. We know London exists now. Time to give it only some small cameo's, like in "Casino Royale".

    One thing though, I think "SPECTRE" was the first Bond film with Daniel Craig that was much more about a plain, solid mission for agent 007. It reminded me a lot of the rather rogue mission 007 had in "OHMSS". Also there it turned out that the initial person, Balthazar de Bleuchamp/Franz Oberhauser (via Marc-Ange Draco/Gebrüder Gumbold/Lucia Sciarra/Mr White) in fact was......Blofeld.

    SPECTRE to me feels like a classic Bond film. I've only seen it once so far, but it seems to be going for a very traditional approach, and I welcome that.
