I think they all already win and we call it a day, as they've been doing a lot of work lately, as you've said, to rid the boards of trolls and spambots. Kudos to them, and yes, they should all be acknowledged.

The ones in bold are the ones I think should stay, though I think all the ones about fan media and fiction could possibly be whittled down a bit? I'm not too sure, if I'm honest. As for the ones that I think should go, I think the blu-ray artist and cover awards are redundant, I don't know what the greatest bond announcement is supposed to be, best moderator has already been addressed, I don't think an award should go to off-topic threads nor controversial members, and Skyfall is irrelevant for awards now.
No, it will start somewhere near January, at the start of the new year.
Yes, we all thought it would be better to wait until the start of 2014 where we can look at all of 2013 on MI6 in full review. :)

I'd vote for these to keep, and also add one new. Like someone said, some categories last time barely had any nominees. :)
Good luck with the arrangements, brady and creasy!
I'll be done my post in the "detailed ranking of all 23 films" thread soon. You'll see why it's taking so long to do ;)
Also, I'm doing my fantasy timeline with details. The level of change in it could almost make it fan fiction, haha
This is how the process will go for those that aren't familiar:
So, for instance, say a "Biggest Literary Bond Fan" category is finalized for the awards. At that point either @Creasy or myself will open up a separate thread where each member will nominate over a few days a member that they think are deserving of the title. Once nominations have been given, we will create another separate thread for final voting that compiles all the nominees for that category, and this time the members will vote once and for all for who they wish to win, given the same amount of time to cast their ballot. After this process of nominations and final voting has been completed for each finalized category, we will have a "Closing Ceremony" thread which will list all the victors in each category and also give the community a chance to congratulate the winners, give their thoughts on the awards and even offer suggestions for how it can be improved next time.
All that being said, here are the categories that @Creasy and I have compiled for the coming awards, which features an honorary name change to the award for Biggest Connery Bond Fan in honor of a lost comrade:
The Greg Ferrell Award for Biggest Connery Bond Fan
Biggest Lazenby Bond Fan
Biggest Moore Bond Fan
Biggest Dalton Bond Fan
Biggest Brosnan Bond Fan
Biggest Craig Bond Fan

This thread will serve as a one-stop spot for any and all updates from both @Creasy and myself regarding the awards, and any members who wish to ask a question about the awards or offer a suggestion/opinion will comment here for community-wide approval and debate. So, all this being said, let's hear the thoughts of the MI6 community. This is a very democratic process so please debate the categories, suggest what should stay and go, or even nominate your own idea for a category that you think would be a great addition to the awards.
Thanks one and all for reading and for being an integral part of this process. I think I can speak for both @Creasy and the rest of the community when I say that I very much look forward to starting these awards up again. Cheers! B-)
Are either of you partial to cash bribes in order to secure votes? ;-)
@WillyGalore, I'm a cheap whore, throw me a few dollars and I'll have you locked in for every category! ;-)
As long as we don't have to sleep with you to get nominations ala Harvey Weinstein. ;-)
I am quite a moralistic Marty when it comes to bribery (blame Batman), but I can't say the same for my partner. ;)
That being said, any and all mudslinging by one member towards another is not only advised, but expected. Run your bid for an award like a bloody campaign commercial if you wish. ;)
All joking, of course. The main theme of the awards is to have fun, so everyone should keep it light and enjoy themselves.
That's a good point to bring up, @Creasy. Any time you have questions, PMs are definitely a great alternative to providing feedback if you don't wish to post in this thread.
As for PM's, Brady and I are almost always on here at some point throughout the day, and I'm up late most nights, so one of us will surely answer relatively fast.
I am looking over the categories; looks good.
And especially my heartfelt thanks for the well deserved nod to our beloved and sorely missed member, SirHenryLeeChaChing (Greg Ferrell).
Aren't these one and the same? I mean, choosing the best fan fiction would suggest they are also the best writer.
I would suppose it's a typo of some sort as we were compiling a list of worthy awards.
No. The first is for the best writer, the second for the best story. A story may have a great plot, but can lack the pacing, dialogue and word mastery that a better writer could bring to the craft. Therefore, it is quite possible to write a great story but you may not be voted the best writer because you lack the conventions of a more experienced storyteller, making them a superior writer. The winner of the Best Fan Fiction should be nominated on their ability to bring alive a compelling or thrilling story featuring Bond, while the Best Writer category should have nominees who are all around skilled in the craft of storytelling, character creation, pacing, dialogue and more. Does this make sense?
