Wonderful pairing. Starting with an intense revenge flick with a badass Dalton, and ending with a splendid Brosnan action/adventure. Dalton and Brosnan, 2 Bond's I really enjoy. I know TWINE has it's load of criticism on these forums, but I just love the film. And LTK is one of my most rewatchable films, non-Bond movies included.

I once did the Skyfall the world is not enough thing with just one day Gap snd its a great double feature.
It's incredible how similar are these two, the tone is almost exactly the same except for the more cheerful ending in The world is not enough.
but the similarties are much more : you have the villain who wants revenge from Mi6, the Mi6 building exploding which made them move out for a while, Bond being tied up while the villain tells all his/ her reasons to their evil plans Bond convinces the bond girl he can protect her.
And for me its the best performance for their respective Bond actors Skyfall fir Craig and The world is not enough for Pierce Brosnan.
For tonight: I want to watch FRWL paired with a Moore outing. Condition: it can't be LALD or TMWTGG. Any suggestions?

Not going to bore you with an extended “review”. I love this film - the combination of 80's action movie and one of the most innovative Bond pictures makes this an absolute must watch for me. Special mention has to go to Dalton and Davi, who own this.
Worst Bit – The dodgy American actors that litter LTK.
Best Best – Either the Wavekrest escape or the tanker climax.

I will most likely be banned and executed for posting in such language, but.. Sean Fucking Connery !! How in the world did such a guy appear on this earth? The guy is a friggin force of nature. He just walks around, like a panther, punching people in the face, or shooting them if he's in a hurry, banging the hottest chicks in his vacinity while saving the world from World War 3. And let's not forget he wise-cracks some golden one liners and doesn't let anything get under his skin.
As for the films, they are larger-than-life, thanks to the exotic locations, gorgeous sets and the magnificent music from John Barry. As they say in modern english: 1960's Bond films for the win.
I simply love Sir Roger Moore. He's fantastic as the world weary, experienced spy. I can't get enough of him as Bond. Some of the action scenes here are tremendous: the car chase in Spain, the ski chase and the climax on the Golden Gate Bridge. Conti's score gets a fair load of criticism, but it's one of my favorite Bond soundtracks. And what can I say about Barry's work on AVTAK, a score for the ages. Bouquet as Havelock is a such a cutie, and while dumb, Tanya Robert as Stacey is a major hottie. Both films have a great cast, including Walken and Grace Jones, Topol (one of my favorite allies) and the ever so gentleman-like Patrick Mcnee. Both the films also have spectacular pacing, I'm always amazed at how fast each scene go along.

Quantum of Solace
I like the bleak ambience of the film; it makes it unique. Forster delivers a very slick film, where the drawbacks are the much maligned hyper-editing, and that's only prevalent in the first third-ish. I particularly like Forster's shot selection, in regards to the transitional scenes; think when Bond is entering Slate's hotel, and the scene in at the desert hotel, when Greene etc. are meeting. He uses quick, short shots, in order to get to the next action scene/dialogue exchange, very quickly. It reminds me of Fleming's writing; short, sharp sentences – both Fleming and Forster use speed. Other than that, this is a very effective thriller. The cast is especially good, the cinematography is uniformly excellent – bright colours and crisp palettes - and the production design is top notch as well.
Worst Bit – CGI parachuting. Haven't they learned their lesson?
Best Best – Tosca isn't for everyone.
GoldenEye
I unsure about seeing GoldenEye today. It felt as if it was an obligation, not something I wanted to do. Luckily, I haven't been this engaged in GoldenEye's story in donkeys years.
A greatest hits Bond film that launched our venerable hero into the nineties, and just what was needed after the long hiatus - all the classic hallmarks are there, but given a modern twist. There really is a lot to enjoy with this one, namely a superb primary cast and a very strong script; indeed this script helps anchor GoldenEye’s more fantastical elements, allowing for some rare moments of introspection (think Bond and Alec in the graveyard/underground lair and Bond and Natalya on the beach.) The script also cleverly asks Bond to validate himself in the post cold war era, something he achieves with aplomb.
The music, or more to the point, the ambient sounds were boosted on this latest viewing. Perhaps it was to do with the T.V. Either way, it enhanced my engagement, sucking into the murky world of post Cold War Russia.
Worst Bit – The entire sequence with the slughead Boris in Severnaya. ITV used to trim this down somewhat – instead of having Boris hack the U.S Justice Department, it used to open up with Boris having a ciggy. Much more expedient methinks!
Best Bit – When Alec is taunting Bond in the Cuban bunker.

Halfway through!
The most low key film for each of my favorite Bond actors Pierce and Connery.
Both confirmed why i love these two men as Bond and yes Pierce was the modern take of Connery Charming, cool, seductive but knew how be thtearting when it was needed.
This is more of an observation for another therad but i felt a big inspiration for Goldeneye from the pre tittles sequence in From Russia with Love.
Actually i'd say that maybe Martin used From Russia with love as his main inspiration for Goldneye.
We have the train scene though witn much more different porpouse, li the reunion of alec and Bond had some elements of the pre Tittles sequence of From Russia with love like Bond walking in the drak and Bond teaming up with a Russian girl.
And like i said Goldeneye and From Russia with love are the two films which are more about the real spy thriller thing than the action and gadgets in all the other Bond films.
One more thing id like to add
I enjoyed From Russia with love this time much than the fisrt time i watched it.
Still a bitt slow for a Bond flick but great film otherwise and i loved the ending. Its really romantic and with a lot of magic and chemistry with Daniela was perfect, now i think she is the Bond girl he had the best chemistry with.
Anyway one thing I noticed: ist funny the name of the movie is from Russia with Love when It barely showed Russia as a setting actually almost the whole film was set in Istanbul didn't notice that before.
Actually I could be wrong and say Russia was never shown since the only locations I remeber are : london, Istanbul and Venice
Good Bond film- Dalton is terrific and the action is some of the best in the series. Sanchez makes for a top tier Bond villain. The sticking points are some moments of cheesiness and the repetitive score. It'll probably end up at the latter end of my top ten, if not just outside.

That is right I would rather meet doubleego buy him a beer and listen to him rant and rave for 3 hours then watch royale 67 ever again
This is now my fourth viewing of SPECTRE, and I'm at that point now where my opinion of the film has cemented and I can now play the film mentally- I 'know' this film now like I do its brothers. My views haven't changed much; I still think it is a film without any warmth and I still find it to be dull in many a scene. If anything, though, I really dig Waltz's Blofeld- he's not top tier, but I do like the way Waltz portrays Blofeld. It's just a shame about the material he was given. Other highlights include the train fight, the opening tracking shot and Scott's Denbigh (again, it's a shame about the material).
You should watch Casino Royale, Guardians Of The Galaxy or Avatar next. Those movies look fantastic on a 4K tv set, I say those are reference titles for picture quality on Blu-ray.
I'm no technology wiz, but the image is far better and more crisp. I noticed when watching the car chase in SPECTRE that the image moves much more "smoothly", as if there is an increased frame rate. The TV also benefits greatly from a sound bar, so films get proper cinematic treatment.
I just have the 2006 UE DVD, so I have yet to experience it on blu-ray. Frankly, though, the color timing from the earlier SE looked far truer to the film, than the UE IMO. Especially that first shot of the desert sunrise. For some reason, the Lowery Digital restoration took away the golden hues in that shot and muted it considerably.
Still, I'll eventually get the blu ray.
I also watched SPECTRE last week as I received it for my birthday. Yay! I enjoyed it, but do still feel a good 10 minutes or so could have been trimmed, and that Newman basically copy/pasted his score from SkyFall for most of the film. I really miss John Barry.
For Your Eyes Only
Egads! It has been over a year since I watched FYEO last – New Years Eve 2014. I was working New Year, so decided to put on a Bond film and go to bed early.
So, what did I think of it this time? Glen's direction is unfussy there is some outstanding action, great cast, convincing romance between Bond and Melina. The locations also impressed. Granted it does not have the grandeur of let's say, MR, but the way Glen and Alan Hume use them was top notch. A recurring motif of the Glen films, is how the filmmakers incorporate a little bit of romance into the story – FYEO, OP and TLD – which makes them a cut above the usual Bond movie.
Worst Bit – The denouement with Maggie Thatcher.
Best Best – Roger Moore catching the hammer up St. Cyril's. So cool. How he had the presence of mind to that when under duress, I'll never know.

I'm watching it on ITV as I type. For the love of Fleming, ITV, why even put Licence To Kill on pre-watershed, if you have to butcher the film. Other than that lunacy, it's all good. I might watch LTK again in a couple of days, on DVD, to make up for this edited version.
