If you didn't like the Pain Face in GE and TND, then you'll really hate it in TWINE. Now three films in, and I am yet to see one truely great moment, one which I can point to and say- that is Bond. Too much time was spent with Brosnan being like a child in a sweet shop, and not enough with him trying to create him own take on the role. Something I feel Dalton did in his first film. Nice use of those Barbie & Ken figures during the lift sequence. Barbie & Ken should have been used for the entire film, the level of acting in the film would have been better. :-\"
Before I post my ranking so far, i'd like to end by asking why Cucinotta wasn't given the main Bond Girl role. Something I might remedy in my <a href="http://www.listal.com/list/my-ultimate-james-bond-timeline">timeline.</a>; :-?

Really enjoyed it. Much better than DAF. Moore is great, Solitaire is hot, Kananga/Big isn't a bad villian, and Tee Hee and Samedi are great henchman. Then there's the score, and the classic title song. The blaxpoitation stuff was of it's time, and doesn't really bother me (I'm black). Very good, fun Bond film.

Do you mean from Brosnans films? How about the bungee jump, Bond killing Alec, the boat chase or Bond killing Elektra?
I can think of a few:
-Brosnan stamping on the gun, preventing Alec from grabbing it, in the train (GE)
-Brosnan looking down at Alec after dropping him from the antenna (GE)
-Brosnan getting out the car at the statue park (GE)
-Brosnan walking from the car park to the hotel in Hamburg (TND)
-Brosnan killing Kaulfman (TND)
-Brosnan walking into Moneypenny's office (TWINE)
-Brosnan running around the Swiss banker's office after he's been killed and the police are trying to break in (TWINE)
-Brosnan killing Electra (the way he lowers his gun and "I never miss" - he sells it well) (TWINE)

Indeed! The way he aims the PPK into the room is absolute 007.
That it is. All in a second, we hear the door slam open, and his PPK is up and ready, only to be brought down at ease again for Bond to conduct a search. I love this scene, as we have the mashup of Bond's actions, with this and fighting the sailor (and dabbing the brow, excellent touch) and jumping onto the boat, while Xenia and Ourumov steal the Tiger.
Bond waiting for Paris was possibly one of the better moments in the Brosnan era, but still nowhere near on par with the two I said above.
Bond killing Kaulfman and Bond killing Electra. Good scenes and better moments from Brosnans run.
What a beautiful film this is; the sets, the music, the cinematography all really top-notch. Sure the plot takes a back seat, but with such contributions as Messer’s Moore, Lonsdale, Barry, Adam, Tournier et al makes this such a charming film. As one reviewer put it, a "charming piece of fluff".
A lot better than I remember. I enjoyed the PTS, Miami, The golf match and the journey in Switzerland. After the Laser sequence it all goes downhill for me. Everything slows down. Bond being captured doesn't bother me this time around but after he's captured again after he listens in on Goldfinger's plan I get bored. There is alot of padding too. Solo's death for instance, what was so important about it that it needed to be there? The final half drags but I enjoy the Fort Knox climax. But after all is said and done the fight on the plane was very silly and anti climatic and has me asking, where did Bond and Pussy crash land? Anyway I liked it alot better. It's no longer in my bottom 3 but It had it's share of silly moments and isn't as perfect as everyone says it is. goodnight folks. I-)
Still one of the best. Connery is great along with the locations. While a bit slow after when he gets to Europe and a dodgy Felix but a great climax. AS close to a 9 as possible.

I don't mind Nic Nac, I like how wierd and OTT he is up until the final fight with Bond, which is just embarassing.
This is decent enough, but it could've been soooo much better. There are some great moments, the car jump and Bonds duel with Scaramanga are my faves, and some great lines (I love the forever hold your piece line), but the film gets let down by things like the slide whistle.
Pepper is another character I don't mind too much, but there was no reason at all for him to be in the film. Goodnight is a hot Bond girl, yes she can't act but I honestly don't care, her role didn't really need a great actress.
I don't think this is terrible like lots of others seem too, but I don't think it's great either.

Everything about this film is pure Bond. It's also so fun and enjoyable without being stupid and OTT, it's actually a more serious Bond film with the whole nuclear war thing being a real world threat unlike Drax's plan in MR (which was basically kill everyone from space with a gas that wasn't real).
The action is good, Moore is on top form, Jaws is actually threatening, Stromberg is a brilliant villian, I loved this film and I still do. The only real complaints I have are the gunbarrel (boring and Moore's turn is slow and stupid) and the theme song (just don't like it).

I really enjoyed this movie, I'd say more than both of Dalton's. The plot was more engaging and Brosnan was more personable of a Bond than Dalton. Dalton was just too standoffish at times. Brosnan was lighter. I know a lot of people don't like that, but for me it made for a more entertaining movie.
Dench is my favorite M simply because she has more of a presence than her predecessors. The other M's just seemed to dole out assignments. Dench's M seemed to have more personality because she clashed with Bond. Bernard Lee didn't seem to clash. He seemed annoyed at times but it wasn't very forceful. Brown had more conflict, but, again, for some reason, he just didn't resonate with me.
The relationship between Bond and Moneypenny was a lot better this time. Here, as with Lois Maxwell, Bond and Moneypenny seem like equals who enjoy playful banter. Caroline Bliss's Moneypenny seemed like a girl with a big crush on her college professor.
Sean Bean makes a great villian, even though I know he's too young for the part. However, because I like him as an actor, I easily overlooked that. Plus, I really like the 'former MI6 turns traitor' aspect. The betrayal makes things more personal for Bond, plus it shows that even MI6 is not immune to traitors.
On the downside, Natalya is just not a good Bond girl. I mean she's not the worst Bond girl but she just seemed dull. I was much more impressed with Onatopp. I liked her a lot more than Natalya. Natalya just seemed to be there. Her personality didn't really come through.
Another complaint is the stunt in the PTS. I had to rewind a few times to make sure that Bond hadn't thrown a line to the airplane. Sadly, no. He just basically flies to it. That's more unrealistic than Bond jumping out of an airplane and using the parachute of the person who jumped before him.
While bond is great i can't go past the fact that a quarter of the film occurs underwater in scenes without any dialogue or tension. I liked what they were aiming for in this one but the execution just wasn't as good but still much better than some of the others.

About a week ago I sat down with some friends to watch a couple of movies and eat some pancakes. I supplied the movies (since I have quite a collection), and I brought a couple of 007 films.
Usually I can't really get my friends to watch any of them except for Casino Royale, but this time I decided to play it diffrently:
I brought Moonraker (on BluRay) and told them it was almost more of a parody of James Bond, so they agreed to watch it.
AND WE HAD A BLAST! Honestly, this must have been the best experience I've ever had watching a Bond with friends. From the get go we didn't take it to seriously, and where able to laugh with (and some times at) the film. But then something magic happened (happend to me years ago :) ), they actually got caught up in the suspensefull scenes of the movie, and where at times on the edge of their seat. Moonraker certainly moved up my ranking that day!
Also, I've never seen the line 'I think he's attempting re-entry, sir' get that much of a laugh. It was an awesome experience. And experience that wasn't even remotely toppled by the other two movies we watched: Beverly Hills Cop and Johnny English Reborn (although the 'Do your dance' bit in JE:B got close)
Not much free time available of late, but next available opportunity, will watch Moonraker as my next 'Bond movie watched', always a fun two hours spent
Die Another Day
It is as if with each passing year, I tolerate this film a little more. It's still the most tasteless film in the series (the mostly though not all techno soundtrack, "yo mamma", "now that's a mouthful", the MTV editing), but if I said that I didn't enjoy large portions of the film, then I would be lying.
It starts of perfectly fine with a good PTS (though I think they should have included more of what's in the storyboards) and despite a fair few accident spots (one of which is Bond as Moneypenny, she doesn't scrape the bottom of the barrel, she scrapes the mould beneath the barrel. Even Pamela Salem made a better MP, and that was for one film with NSNA), remains fairly enjoyable.

Most of this is really good. Great PTS, great locations, hot girls, Moore is really good as Bond, and the space stuff was popular back then. What I don't like is what they did to the Jaws character. He's crap in this, shame because he was really menacing in TSWLM.

The first time I watched it, I found Carver's actions to be implausible. I mean, starting a war just to sell headlines? However, I realized that other Bond villians were motivated to create wars--just for different reasons. Carver's one of a kind though. A true egomaniac who became certifible somewhere down the line.
It's a pity Paris Carver died so soon since I'm a fan of Teri Hatcher. Speaking of Paris, I assumed that her necklace was bugged (I figured Carver was paranoid enough to eavesdrop on his wife), apparently I was wrong. that would have been a cool development though.
I can understand what some of you mean by M being in the story too much. However, that's why Dench is one of my favorite M's. Her presence thoughout the movie makes her more interesting to me. It's good to see M having a purpose other than just giving orders to Bond once.
Wai Lin was a great Bond girl--very smart and capable. Watching her kick butt was amazing. That was one of the highlights of the movie.
The other highlight of the film was the awesome motorcycle chase. That was a fantastic action sequence.
I'd say I liked this movie a lot. Not as much as GoldenEye but it was a nice enjoyable story.
We start of good, with Bond visiting Tracies grave, then switch to bad when Blofeld gets a crap death. Bibi is the worst bit of the film, even Roger seemed pissed off with her at one point.
Speaking of Moore, he's great in this. He's also a bit darker than usual, but he still has the usual one liners and comedy, not that I'm complaining, it's what he's best at.
Melina (RIP), is a very good Bond girl. The action is good, especially the climbing sequence. Theme song is ok, overall score is great.
I did like this more than last time. Overall pretty good. Not Moore's best film, but nowhere near his worst.

Ah yeah I do. F*cked up there. I just remembered one of the FYEO girls was married to Brosnan and sadly died.
Yes, Countess Lisl von Schlaf. Poor Pierce. Good to see he found happiness again afterwards.
Dalton is in top form in this movie, he is kicking @$$ and taking names. Great Bond! he needed another film or two. -shakes fist in rage.- Curses Kevin McClory foiled EoN's plans again. But if Dalton's Bond 17 had robots like originally planned then no thanks.
The Girls were very good. Carey Lowell was a great. She was strong and held her ground when Bond talked down to her. Talisa Soto was good as the Damsel in distress and abused girlfriend angle. Though when she claims to love Bond it gets kind of weird. She's some comedic relief I guess.
Robert Davi's Sanchez is the highlight of the film. He plays a showman of a villain. He's charming, sophisticated and sharp as a razor if you cross him. Dario and Krest make interesting henchmen and are a welcome part of the supporting cast.
David Hedison's Felix makes a nice return although being 61, he looks great for his age. You really feel His his friendship with James is real and that helps push the film.
Michael Kamen's score for this film is also nice. I always loved his Die Hard Soundtrack, and His score for LTK didn't disappoint.
All in all the only things I didn't really like about this film is Truman Lodge, Krest losing his head and the winking fish at the end, but that is my review for Licence to Kill.

Obviously some of my rather disliked Bond Films really skyrocketed higher after recent viewings.
Well that and the rewatch value of the films. I haven't watched Licence to Kill in many years and after and I really enjoyed it. I think I didn't like it before was because it was too much for me when I was younger. I think I first saw it before I was 10 so that says alot. It's now my favorite Dalton film as well.
