So the Republican loonies flushed an estimated 24 BILLION dollars on this political stunt that only served to make them look like the immature fools that they are. In THIS economy. I think that should call for some jail time, but it won't happen.

I think people who push running up our debt and pushing Obamacare on people should be doing jail time!! Ted Cruz and Mike Lee are patriots!

I don't like everything Obama is pushing, but you're going to call two f'n assholes who'd rather see our country default patriots??? I don't know about you, but I need the monthly SS check my kids get after losing their mother, and my job to make ends meet and make sure my kids get some enjoyment out of their lives. Cruz and Lee are traitors who ought to be shot, and you should too as a traitor for saying such a thing.

Dave Mustaine of Megadeth said something very profound in his song "Peace Sells"-

"Tell me something, it's still 'We the people'. Right?"

WW, you are 1000% right. These elected officials don't give a rat's ass about anyone but themselves. They are rich and can survive a government default just fine. The regular guy and the poor guy can't. They are representing themselves and their rich buddies or supporters like @Perdogg and not the rank and file people who voted for them. Every one of them should be voted out of office and every candidate independent of the Republican and Democratic Parties should be elected. That's when we'll see real change that the real American people want finally start to happen, real people who will resist the rich guy and the lobbyist working for him and get something done.

Revolution is coming. And when it does, I'm all for it.

And I'll still be out of the country of my birth.
But still caring very much about that country. Sigh ...

Unless your folks can survive without their SS checks, which wouldn't have been paid in the event of a full shutdown and debt default, you shouldn't want this wherever you live. You can still mail in a vote and do it for the independent. F**k these political parties. I'll never vote for a candidate from either ever again. I just sent my good friend Dave, a good man and the Democratic mayor of his little town, a note to advise him I have renounced my membership.

Well we are stuck with these parties for the foreseeable future (10 - 15 years?)
Yes, I mail in my vote.
I am a registered Democrat - only so I could vote in primaries.
But I have always voted thinking like an Independent.

I wish I could vote for candidates I believed in, but it's always the same thing- who I determine will get the least amount of innocents killed during his or her reign.

Patriots in the "proud" tradition of Joseph McCarthy and General Curtis Lemay that is!

NEW ELEMENT DISCOVERED “Heaviest element known to science has now been discovered”

Lawrence Livermore Laboratories has discovered the heaviest element yet known to science. The new element, Governmentium (symbol=Gv), has one neutron, 25 assistant neutrons, 88 deputy neutrons, and 198 assistant deputy neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 312.

These 312 particles are held together by forces called morons, which are surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called peons. Since Governmentium has no electrons, it is inert. However, it can be detected, because it impedes every reaction with which it comes into contact. A tiny amount of Governmentium can cause a reaction that would normally take less than a second ...to take from 4 days to 4 years to complete.

Governmentium has a normal half-life of 2 to 6 years. It does not decay, but instead undergoes a reorganization in which a portion of the assistant neutrons and deputy neutrons exchange places. In fact, Governmentium' s mass will actually increase over time, since each reorganization will cause more morons to become neutrons, forming isodopes. This characteristic of moron promotion leads some scientists to believe that Governmentium is formed whenever morons reach a critical concentration. This hypothetical quantity is referred to as critical morass. When catalyzed with money, Governmentium becomes Administratium (symbol=Ad), an element that radiates just as much energy as Governmentium, since it has half as many peons but twice as many morons.
