For me, FRWL, GF, TB, CR, and SF are a slight cut above the rest. Put them in any order you want. I still have SF as my top choice, but it's a subjective thing, and it grabbed me emotionally. DAF, TMWTGG, and LTK are my guilty pleasures: I know these are bad movies, but I love them for their pure b-movie silliness. Bottom line is, there are good arguments for almost every Bond film to be considered the "best"...except for maybe MR. ;)

LTK is not a bad movie!

LOL...I think some looking from the outside in would see it as such. In many places, it looks like a cheap 80s made-for-TV movie. It doesn't have some of the qualities we normally look for and find in a Bond film, but who cares, right?

The production design and cinematography could be better for sure, but when was that the deciding factor for wether a film is good or bad?

I agree 100%. It was a bold departure from previous films but unfortunately it too often looked cheap and as you say, “ a cheap 80s made-for-tv movie”. With that said, I enjoy it and applaud the more serious approach.

I’d applaud the more serious approach of LTK if they didn’t compromise it with really bad humor.

This topic could evolve into, you’re on your deathbed and can watch one last Bond, which one , not two, not three, would it be?
It a tough call but mine would be Casino Royale

My choice in that situation would be OHMSS I think. Not only is it a great story and technically well made on many levels, it's also one of the longest so I'll get to delay the inevitable for a bit longer 🤞

OHMSS would probably top my list if it weren't for Lazenby.

For me it would be Dr. No, or FRWL.
Oh, death bed would probably be Casino Royale, or GoldenEye. I'll pick GoldenEye.

Desert Island would be DN or FRWL. I'll pick Dr. No.

I'd go for (ironically enough) SF. Not that it's my favourite, but I think it'd be quite a suitable film to watch right before I die, considering the aging element, M's death, etc. And that final scene would be a lovely way to end my Bond fandom, I think.

LTK shouldn't be classed as a guilty pleasure. Its in my top 5 films, and is one of the best films of the franchise. It set the template for the Craig era.

Me wanting to feel depressed: DAF.

It does evoke strange feelings watching DAF, I must admit. There is something dark, offbeat and even creepy throughout the entire movie.

Having said all that, its a perverse guilty pleasure of mine.

+1. LTK is easily in my top 5, along with QoS, TB, OHMSS, and LALD.

That's a fairly low pain threshold you have there!
