8-8 Tie here I suppose. Interesting considering TND placed several spots ahead of YOLT in my last ranking. Maybe it's time for a revisit.

You're right, but that's not carte blanche to let Brosnan get run over with bias steamrollers. Perhaps I'm just surprised by how overwhelmingly people seem to prefer YOLT, considering that it's usually in the lower tier of rankings.

True, but that applies to TND as well, and even more so.

    YOLT - 7 TND - 10

I would rather watch TND over YOLT any day or the week...

by the time Connery hit YOLT, he seemed tired with the role, and just seemed to sleep walk through the film at times.. in many ways, much like how MR was essentially a clone of TSWLM - thats kind of how i feel about YOLT - it feels like a spiritual clone of TB... TB's premise could be a bit contrived and gaudy, but i feel like YOLT ramps it up to 11...

TND is a very paint by numbers affair - it ticks off all the boxes when it comes to what you would expect in the typical Bond film. It's all tightly woven, the film has a good pace to it, the action if pretty good as well... but it suffers from being a little too bland at times, lacking any memorable set piece, distinguishing characteristic, or eye catching scenery/locations - and has a pretty forgettable performance from Terri Hatcher.

So, 11-5 You Only Live Twice. Considering YOLT is one of my favs of the series and Tommorow Never Dies is one of my least favorites, Im surprised the scores not worse.

No, I actually like it more than Goldeneye. YOLT is just better. And believe me or not, I don't even mind Jonathan Pryce hamming it up. I love it. You just can't beat Connery's 60's epic.

  • Well, no prizes for guessing who won, ladies and gentlemen, but the official results are as follows 306-132-5 for You Only Live Twice, in what is far and away our biggest blowout to date. Next time you'll get a layup, Pierce, I promise.

With that said, onto our next match! It's the first vs. the last, where old becomes new and new becomes old, Dr. No vs. Skyfall!

A very close matchup, but Skyfall prevails 9-8. Fitting since they sit at 6 and 7 on my Bond ranking, respectively.

    Skyfall 13
    Doctor No 4

Interesting as Skyfall sits at 6 and Dr No at 9 on my rankings. Skyfall wins most categories as Dr No, as much as I like it, feels a tad wooden and creaky a lot of the time.

Skyfall benefits from some of these categories simply by being 50 years ahead of Dr. No.

While Skyfall easily makes my top 10 Dr. No easily makes my top 3.
