Anybody else think that these could use a "Henchman" and "Set Design" categories?

Definitely on Henchman, and Set Design wouldn't be bad either.

Hell, I'm surprised you even gave YOLT a vote, Octobenny!

    PTS: Octopussy
Title Track: YOLT (At least a Sinatra got to do a Bond theme)
Title Credits: Octopussy (Usually the theme song and visuals are so entwined in my mind. I think this is the first time I've voted one film for the theme and the other for the visuals that accompany it.)
    Main Villain: YOLT
Main Bond Girl: YOLT (I'm totally considering this Kissy V Octopussy)
    Overall Plot: YOLT
    Dialogue: YOLT
    Score: YOLT
    Settings: YOLT
    Action: YOLT
    Humor: Octopussy (Sir Roger's specialty)

    Suspense: YOLT
    Minor Characters: YOLT
    Glamor: YOLT
    Ally: YOLT

    YOLT - 14
    Octopussy - 3

Shut-out victory for YOLT. Not too surprising, considering YOLT is in my Top 5 and Octopussy falls just outside of my Top 10. The surprising thing is that, by the elements, a lot of these votes were split decisions, basically with the tie going to YOLT.

This one has either been really close or a blow out one way or another. Weird.

8 to 7 in favour of LTK. Funny, I enjoy TLD just a little bit more... :-?

ugh @chrisisall. Tim's only two films head to head... this is like having to say which of your children you secretly prefer...

5-10... pretty much reflects my favoritism for 'Daylights. But LTK still special cause it's Dalton

Pre Titles - TLD. Best in the series along with CR.
    Title Track - TLD
Title Credits - TLD. LTK's are very dull.
Main Adversary - LTK. Best in the series.
    Main Girl - TLD.
    Overall Plot - TLD
Dialogue - TLD. "You should've brought lilies."
Score - TLD. Three way tie with TB and OHMSS for best in the series.
Settings - TLD. Six countries in one film? C'mon. This wins by default.
Action - TLD. Goddamn you, this was an excruciating choice. The ice chase (best car chase in the series), grand battle in Afghanistan and cargo net fight vs. the seaplane and tanker chase (best action in the series). Ultimately it's the small things (Necros attacks countryside retreat, rooftop chase) that put TLD above LTK.
Humour - LTK. Every single "funny" line is nailed perfectly.
    Cinematography - TLD
    Benign Bizarre - LTK
Suspense - LTK. Another excruciating choice. In the end, though TLD has the whole cargo net fight and anything else with Necros, there is so much in LTK that left me on the edge of my seat. Bond walking through Felix's house before he finds Della, Felix being held next to the shark tank, Bond preparing to shoot Sanchez, Sanchez holding the blade to Bond's throat...
Minor Characters - LTK. Terry's Leiter is enough to cancel out Pushkin.

10-5 for TLD. That's shocking. Both films are two of only four in the series that I would give 10/10 to. TLD sits at #2 for me and LTK at #4.

I thought this was that thread and completely missed it. Thanks goodness for @WillyGalore! At least someone is on the ball. ;)

Yeah, I made the LALD vs OP by the elements thread that eventually got closed. Best to keep in the original.

Isn't it fascinating to weight the ingredients & see how they come out in the actual product for you?
To me they are SO close I sometimes can't tell which I like better...

It truly is quite fascinating! It makes me realize that sometimes you can like a movie simply because you like it- there don't always have to be concrete reasons for judging one movie above another, and this case surely counts!

Still, if LTK had a Barry score, there would be no contest here for me.
