The only cheesy one for me would be Part 6. Up to Part 5, I think they're quite stable. Okay, Nightmare 5 has its opponents but it's got a few special vibes going. Nightmare 7 really brings back the scary Freddy.

I remember seeing Jason Takes Manhattan a LONG time ago on TV. I seem to recall a kill involving rocks in a sauna. Am I thinking of the right film? I think it was while they were on the boat going towards Manhattan.

@JennyFlex, yep, you've got the right film.

Man, that boat ride took FOREVER! The film hardly spends any time in Manhattan. ;-) And if we get there, we are really in Vancouver because that place looks nothing like NY. ;-) Apart from a few scenes, that is. But when we get to NY in the story, I'm kinda rooting for Jason. He takes care of some junkees and tough gangs in NY. :D

@DarthDimi - Jason's own deaths? I was goign to say what I thought it is, but @Creasy47 has beaten me to it. It's got to be the opening of Jason Goes To Hell. "Incoming... *BOOOOM*"

As for Freddy, New Nightmare is my favourite in the series, but Freddy's best kill, is from the original film. I am talking about Glen's death. Who would have thought that the human body had that much blood in it.

@MajorDSmythe, certainly not the Hollywood Gestapo MPAA, who wanted this scene cut beyond the absurd. Craven had to defend this scene on an almost academical level, trying to explain why those gallons of blood were all needed.

The MPAA ruined the slasher genre.

Didn't even think of that, apologies. It's someone selling these out-of-print horror novels for $100 total. Apparently, they're really hard to find.

    Final Exam (Meyer)
    Halloween (Richards)
    Halloween III (Martin)
    Halloween IV (Grabowsky)
The Nightmares on Elm Street: parts 1, 2, 3 (Cooper)

Also, here's the cast for the 'Scream' TV series:

So it's Tuesday night, i'm relaxing at my laptop, browsing youtube...

Leatherface, Michael, Freddy & Jason, could that be the ultimate horror panel?

Oh, I just might have to get this.

On September 23rd, 'Saw: The Complete Collection' will be released, marking the first time all of the films will be on blu-ray. Haven't seen too many details on it, but it will contain all seven films in their unrated versions. Amazon has it for $17.49 pre-order price right now, which makes each film only $2.49. Not sure if the price is a mistake, but if you're interested, pre-order now to lock in that price.

Also, since the guys who worked on 'You're Next' teamed up for this film, I figured I'd post it here. This is the full trailer for 'The Guest,' which looks incredible:

The prequel for 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre' is moving forward, and will be titled 'Leatherface':

This may confuse some folks. After all, we already have a movie called Leatherface.

It shouldn't be too confusing, it'll either be titled 'Leatherface' or 'Leatherface:????'. Will it follow on from Texas Chainsaw 3D? It looks like I am one of the few, whom despite it's flaws, liked TCM3D.

    EDIT
Of course, it's a prequel, so it wont follow TCM3D. #-o

    I actually liked TCM3D too, which - for the record - I didn't see in 3D. ;-)

    Already preordered this bad boy:

    15-halloween-complete-collection.jpg
Basically it's every version of every Halloween... Ever. Lol

What really caught my attention was the high def Producers Cut of Halloween 6!
I used to think I was hot stuff for having the 'rare' grainy VHS copy that you had to squint to see! It'll be nice to actually tell what the hell is going on with crisp 1080P Bluray!

    Just look at that difference!!

    h6-new-transfer.jpg

It even comes with Rob Zombie's Halloween II which you can use as a drink coaster!!! :D

I'll give it a watch I suppose. TCM3D was.... ok. That main girl was cute as a button and the ending was pretty dark. The only thing is: didn't they already do a prequel? Of the remake I mean. Now this is supposed to be a prequel of TCM3D, which itself boasted being the 'true sequel to the original'. Starting to get a bit confusing.....

Of course, Leatherface's name was Sawyer in the original, and in the remake it was Hewitt (a re-imagining, but still the same character) and with a totally different family. The average joe will get completely lost in these sequels though!

That Halloween boxed set looks amazing. I haven't seen 4-6 in a while, maybe that will justify my purchase.

It is going to be confusing. Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, was the prequel to the remake. Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D was a direct sequel to the original film, albeit, 39 years later. While Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre III & Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation take place in thier own timeline. Considering how complicated this is getting, the next film after this prequel will turn out to be a sequel to TCM: The Next Generation.

About the Halloween set, if the films were released individualy, I would buy the DVD/BR of Halloween 6: The Producer's Cut, in a heartneat. But I won't buy the entire set, just for the one film. Wasn't TLD only available in the SE set, before being released on it's own?

Help me out here: there isn't a DVD box region 2 like that, right? :( Because I WANT IT!

There was a Halloween Collection UK R2 DVD set released a few years back, with the standard edition of the films. I have not seen any talk of this new set coming to R2, though.

I thought about pre-ordering either version of the 'Halloween' Complete Edition, but I already own the only two I particularly want.

Like Halloween, there's a similar set for SAW. Those movies aren't everyone's cup of tea, but the price is insane! Only $17.40 for 7 BLU RAYS??

    http://www.amazon.com/Saw-Complete-Movie-Collection-Blu-ray/dp/B00MFCPVO6/ref=sr_1_1?s=movies-tv&ie=UTF8&qid=1408039775&sr=1-1&keywords=saw

I may get that set too- Me and my college room mate had sort of a tradition of seeing each one on opening night, ever since our jaws hit the floor during the first movies ending!
It even comes with Rob Zombie's Halloween II which you can use as a drink coaster!!! :D
Oh come ON, nobody saw that? No one gets me.... ;)

It looks like we're getting another 'Halloween' film after all, as 'Halloween: The Next Chapter' has been announced. The script should be finished in the fall of 2015 and it appears as if it'll continue on with the events of Zombie's second film:

We will finally have a Halloween III with Michael Myers!
If they're smart though, they'll distance it from II as much as possible

This is a first: to continue on a path laid out by Rob Zombie but without - or so I assume - the involvement of Zombie.

I'm always game for a new Halloween film but I don't think we should be reminded of Halloween 2 next time. It was a pretty nihilistic film which did away with some of the more interesting characters besides Michael and introduced nonsensical white horse symbolism. At this point I'd say only David Lynch could make a direct sequel to Halloween 2. ;-)
